We definitely enjoyed some morning coffee (and afternoon drinks) on the balcony while soaking up the ocean view!! Lots of storage, very spacious shower, and relaxing soaker tub. You'll feel very special in this room!

Loved seeing the tour of Suite 2047. I have stayed in that room 11 times from 2013 through 2018, but all were before the renovation. The renovation definitely modernized the Suite, it looks great.

We stayed in Suite 2047 in April 2019 before the renovation as well. The one change they made in all these Super Suites at the Riu Palace Maya Riviera is the removal of the wrought iron stair case on the deck which gave access to a private area above. That area had another balcony up there and a full multi-person jacuzzi tub which was amazing. That was an added feature that is now gone. I have heard no explanation as to why that was changed. Unfortunately, because of that change we decided to not come back here for our next trip. Call us spoiled I guess. The Riu Palace Mexico still has jacuzzi tubs on their above level decks in their Super Suites so we are going there this fall. Also, the inside tubs on these renovated Super Suites are longer jetted tubs (prior to the renovation they were jacuzzi styled tubs). Call us tub focused. perhaps. To me the lack of jets on the inside tub isn't that big of an issue - but it is to my wife. She likes to hop in a jetted tub, get it all bubbly, and read a book after a day out and about. These changes might not be a bit deal to others.
@@LavieSplash It is odd that they removed the upper level spa and stair case... We also stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico many times until the renovation (maybe 20 times since it first opened). We preferred the original design better than the renovated design which is why we moved to the Riu Palace Riviera Maya.
@@chas615 Thanks for the history lesson. I was not aware the Riu Palace Mexico had previously been renovated. Do you know what year that was? Our first visit to that area was 2017 and at that time the Mexico was in its current state. At that time we preferred the Riu Palace Maya Riviera because of the design over that of the Mexico. The other design change, after the renovation, I am not particularly in favor of at the Maya Riviera is taking out the super large pool in favor of the numerous smaller pools now. I loved that old pool and thought it was spectacular. It just need to be retiled/redone in my view.
@@LavieSplash We have been going to the Riu's for a long time, started at the Riu Yucatan I think in 1997 and while we were there in 1998 they were building the Palace Mexico next door. We started at the Palace Mexico in 1999 about 2 weeks after it opened and then went to the Palace Riviera Maya in 2013. The renovation of the Palace Mexico was early 2012. I also preferred the large pool versus the numerous smaller pools. The original Palace Mexico also had one large pool which was fantastic but also was replaced the smaller pools.

Hi this tour was very interesting... We stayed here in here in 2017 in that exact same Suite 2047. This was before the refurbishment was undertaken. I also did a video tour of the Suite at that time. Shame i can't post it here. The suite in our option was much more plush and luxurious then. The Jacuzzi bath was much bigger, as was the bed. BUT !!!! you now seem to be missing an ENTIRE FURTHER FLOOR. When you came out on to the Balcony and turned right, there was a spiral stair case that took you up to a large further terrace and a sunken Jacuzzi that would fit at least four people... Very Private !!!! You can see this area above on your vid when looking up at your room... Guess they just blocked it off...

I didn't see this post before I posted above with the exact same point. The removal of the upper floor in these suites is very disappointing. My wife came to this venue with our daughter after the renovation (April 2021) and stayed in one of the other suites and it was the same story (upper level removed - well access removed - the space is still clearly up there). She looked up at the ceiling where the spiral stair went up to the next floor and could see the faint outline of plaster mud (very faint but noticeable). I wonder if they left the tubs up there and they are just left to rot. And I agree with your assessment @scannell1986, the suite seemed more plush and luxurious prior to the renovation. I also mentioned the inside tubs now are no longer jetted (my wife is bummed). Perhaps we get used to certain features and when they are going it's disappointing. Of course, new people coming in to the resort wouldn't have that comparison in their heads and so it might not matter. @scannel1986 I am going to go find your video and watch it. Hopefully it's not too hard to find.

Oh good ! I was wondering what the Superior Suite will look like at RIU . Very nice ! I’m on the fence to RIU Palace Peninsula in Cancun or this one in Playa Del Carmen. I’m guessing ( for me) it comes down to the food options , the service and of course, the Sandy beach.
By chance have you done a comparison between the two properties? Are they still having problems with the sea grass on the beach in Playa Del Carmen ? We stayed at Sunscape in Riveria, Maya and the beaches were stunning. I have a video of Sunscape on my channel, if you’d curious…

Hi I love your videos. Is this the Junior Superior Suite room with Oceanview. I know I have a large group going next year and our room choices were Junior Oceanview Suite and Junior Superior suite? I would love to see both types. Also the Junior Suite.

Thanks! I would say depends what you’re looking for.. Playacar has a younger, family vibe and riviera Maya is newer and has better food but is more quiet 🤷🏼♀️ they’re both great.. u can’t go wrong with either!
Very nice hotel and I really appreciate the way you explain every single point of each hotel you go to. Question..may another...I need to finalize my reservation by Tuesday/....Out of Riu Palace Mexico and Riu Palace Rivera Maya which one do you think is better off for me to stay? I am traveling SOLO and just need a week off EVERYTHING here...
We prefer the Riviera Maya bc it has been updated, so the rooms are much nicer. Other than that, the food and entertainment are basically the same 👍🏻

Hey there!! Just curious if this video is of a Suite or a junior superior suite? I'm not sure what the difference is between a junior suite and junior superior suite. Our travel agent is giving us those 2 options. Just really looking for the bigger balcony. Any help would be great!! Thanks in advance

Yes. Both RIU palaces had the liquor back in the rooms.
When we book the room how to get 2 beds? It is not clear at the time of booking
It depends which site you book through 🤷🏼♀️ they will usually say Junior Suite Double for 2 beds
hi we are going to be there in june of 2022 when you were there did you get any ice from he machines and is it safe and when eating in the resturants was the veggies ok to eat seen on some reviews that the water is not safe to drink and you should not eat the veggies if they use tap water to wash them off thanks..
Hi there! We did not get any ice from the machine, but I would assume it’s safe coming from the ice machine 🤷🏼♀️ we ate all the veggies, cooked and uncooked, and we didn’t have any issues. I think it depends on how sensitive your stomach is. They do tell you that the tap water is not safe to drink… but other than that, they use filtered water at the bars and in the kitchen. Hope you have a safe trip!
Any problems with the A/C keeping the room cool?

One quick question: we are coming to Riu Palace reviera maya next month and booked a junior suit, does those coach can be changed to a pullout bed?
I don’t think so, but you can ask for a roll-away bed for your room at checkin 👍🏻
El baño tiene que ser independiente del dormitorio. Horrible lo que han hecho en los cuartos. Tenía pensado ir oq ya estuve hace unos años y me gustó todo pero con este cambio estoy obligada a buscar otro hotel all inclusive.
Yea, the bathrooms are open concept now 🤷🏼♀️
It so embarrassing when American resort like Hawaii or Florida don’t a all inclusive - greedy shame on them 🤬Cancun is simple the Best 🎉
