this was so helpful!! i have an older model sewing machine that only does zigzag, and the ways i’ve seen people machine gathering doesn’t work with zigzag D: so this was a life saver!!
this is amazing! I wanted to do this for my dog's clothes as they tend to sag around the bottom but I'm a beginner sewer and was worried it'd be difficult. this seems super easy and you explained it perfectly! thanks!

is it possible to do this with tulle without the tulle tearing?
Would this work with long ruffles (like for a ball gown)
Now, how do I attach it to another piece of fabric without it looking like pleats?
