I realize this video is a year old now, but goodness, this is the most helpful and clear instructions I have ever found in regards to gathering fabric via hand sewing. Thank you so much for this incredibly helpful tutorial!
this was so helpful!! i have an older model sewing machine that only does zigzag, and the ways i’ve seen people machine gathering doesn’t work with zigzag D: so this was a life saver!!
this is amazing! I wanted to do this for my dog's clothes as they tend to sag around the bottom but I'm a beginner sewer and was worried it'd be difficult. this seems super easy and you explained it perfectly! thanks!
Thank you so much, I made a crop top and it was a little too short so I decided to do ruffles at the bottom. I was nervous because I didn't have a machine. It turned out well thank you so much!
Hello! Thanks so much for this, very helpful! If I know the length of the (ungathered) fabric that I want to attach the ruffle to, how do I work out how long my starting fabric (before the gather) needs to be?

Now, how do I attach it to another piece of fabric without it looking like pleats?
