Natural weather will have an overall effect in due time to chalk because chalk is a porous powder. Try out an oil based marker? Even then UV rays and the outdoor moisture will have an impact. Hair spray, or a non alcoholic aerosol is a tip I keep coming across. I’m about to give Patrick’s One Size Makeup Setting Spray a try… on an indoor blackboard. It claims to be moisture resistant. It’s a bit pricy but I have it on hand. Will comment again to report the results.
Water does NOT wreck these signs. You will need to use windex to get off the large markers and the small ones are perminent so we just paint over them.
great job 🙌
You make it look so easy! I’ll give it a try. Thanks!
Excellent tutorial!!
Do you use paint markers for painting vegetables on the signs?
Yes!
How can you seal the chalkboard if it will be kept outside to protect from weather?

If it’s an outdoor sign, doesn’t water wreck it? What should be used for sidewalk signs like these but smaller?
