I love how you give an honest opinions on what you cook. I hate seeing food network chefs bite into something and pretend to orgasm when they clearly hate it.
Made this last night with yellow and white sweet corn, garnished with our fresh chives, phenomenal, thanks for the recipe! Also made a side of asparagus bites sautéed in olive oil salt and pepper, was a great addition along with some white chicken stock rice. Yum!
All I can say is....About time YT got it straight. I am assuming Chef John had to re-upload this. It looked good in 320p but it looks FANTABULOUS in 1080p
I have the same picture of seasonal cooking as you, but I picture like 20 scallops not 3. More than 3 would get eaten before they even got to the plate.
This is such an amazing dish. We used to serve this at a restaurant I used to work at and the flavors are uhhhhmazing!!! Such a simple sauce, but yet it compliments the scallops wonderfully!!! *YUMMMMM!!!*
wonderful! I love how you present every single dish. Looks like a michelin star restaurant! By the way: Is not easy for me to find fresh corn at my place. Would it be still acceptable to use canned corn?
I enjoy playing both this and the standard version video side by side and it feels like Chef John's talking with that old-fashioned echoing microphone. LOL
Absolutely gorgeous! Simple, yet a perfect marriage of savory and sweet with a slight touch of heat. Would it be wrong to consider this a dessert? Yum!
Looks so pro for just 4 ingredients! Thanks for the tip about not putting hot stuff in blenders, but I have to ask: why? Can't think of a good reason. Seems to me like hot liquids would be thinner and easier to blend than cooler, thicker ones.
It builds pressure from released steam and heat, then the lid of your blender will fly off. Messy, not to mention the burns on your face, eyes, neck, etc.
Yes, that is true about the steam but my blender has a special lid with tiny holes for venting to prevent that, so I guess I never considered the possibility of the lid flying off! But makes sense.
Hi Chef John, I am very disappointed in your turnip recipe offerings on your vlog. Can you please remedy this? Mashed, baked, braised...I'm not picky. Thanks.
The Portion was Tiny becuase your supposed to enjoy the food and flavors, not to be a pig and feel stuffed afterwards. I think it was a beautiful dish, and I'm going to try it tomorrow night. As for a food wish, I would like to know, chef John, if you have, or ever made a lemon ice video. I love lemon ice, and I'm curious on how it is made. Love all your videos, and your videos have fed my family a large number of times. Best wishes to you and please grant me my food wish. Cheers :)
If I was to try to serve 3 scallops in my house I would get beat up!! lol But they sure look good for a teaser, and my eyes sure loved the look of 1080 too. Wish TY would get their sht together so we could see your videos in 1080
princefucksall014 ***** Katy Rogers Chan Tak Zee fuck your soup adding with garlic up as much as you want not to bro it wont go forever being awesome but not good
Progress PixL Those are potato scallops, you can also get them with nondescript fish in them too and they're fish scallops, both of which are bland and boring.... Actual scallops are just a shelled mollusc which the Shell petrochemical co. used as their logo, but you can't eat petrochemicals, they're nasty... :P
If you put a smaller bowl inside the large bowl upside down it will be safer and catch all the corn you are trying to cut off. Learned the hard way with that one I would have corn all over the place.

I put cayenne in everything thanks to you Chef Jon.
I don't know what it is, but the 1080p HD version is much tastier.

I can feel the 1080p.
I already watched the 360p version but wanted to watch it again bc it was so much fun the first time :D
Me too. It looks really yummy. You should try this at home~~I'm gonna buy scallop and corn right now^^

Last time I tried to make scallops it was a disaster but thanks to your recipe I've redeemed myself :)
wonderful! I love how you present every single dish. Looks like a michelin star restaurant! By the way: Is not easy for me to find fresh corn at my place. Would it be still acceptable to use canned corn?
The quality's impeccable!
I enjoy playing both this and the standard version video side by side and it feels like Chef John's talking with that old-fashioned echoing microphone. LOL
This looks heavenly
Looks incredible! HD is great too!
Wow, the 1080p looks beautiful Chef John! Very nice. :)
Still sitting here hunched over with an ulcer ready to cry at how tantalizing and cruel this looks. Thanks again, Chef John.
Thank YOU Chef John!! Now I can watch. Looks great!
Your plating is FABULOUS!
Now I can see the video! Thanks for the re-upload.
Now that's some smooth editing. Like a hot knife through butter ;-)
I love you, Chef John.
this is getting artistic
Absolutely gorgeous!
Simple, yet a perfect marriage of savory and sweet with a slight touch of heat. Would it be wrong to consider this a dessert?
Yum!
I followed the low res recipe. Will it still taste the same?
This recipe looks really good. I'm going to try it, but instead of scallops, I think I'll use shrimp. Good job Chef Jon.
I wanna try this. Looks fantastic

Love you Chef John. Hilarious -- always.

I don't even like scallops. I just like hearing Chef John talk.
It looks good and delicious!
I started wishing the food was in front of me. Such good cooking has effects like that on me.
Ooooooh I'll definitely make this. Thank you!

One of these days, Chef John is going to make cayenne-flavored desserts.

Makes a BIG difference in presentation. Beautiful! Thanks.
If I cook frozen scallops instead of fresh . Would the taste be different ?
looks good and you're fun! vegans would use thick sliced king oyster mushrooms to substitute for the scallops. =D
Looks delicious!
Chef! I've tried this recipe but added vanilla to the corn. Its spectacular
Corny sweetness is your humour. Sweet corniness is the juice from fresh-cut corn. :-)
Beautiful!!!
do you find that good quality frozen scallops are even worth it? im so hesitant to purchase them.
Hey Chef, which wine would you pair this with?
non alcoholic wine...
they looks SO delicious.
Chef high priest of the food gods.. would I be smited in shadow and brimestone if I added some garlic to the corn mixture?
I bet a hint of garlic would be nice. Its up to you bro
Your are the boss of your corn sauce.
You best caramelize that shi first though
princefucksall014 ***** Katy Rogers Chan Tak Zee
fuck your soup adding with garlic up as much as you want not to bro it wont go forever being awesome but not good
This was delicious!
Sensational! Thanks.
Now we just need it in 60 FPS!
I don't see much of a difference. They are both good quality to me.
Shit, son. I'm seein some shiny, sexy scallops.
LOL
wow, I LOVE scallops
Finally the video works
This is only 1080p. Get with the program, Chef John! 4K is the way to go!
now that would just be unfair to the people who watch his videos late at night who end up getting hungry… simply unfair
Use oyster mushrooms for vegan scallops. Yessss amazing.
I love it
So yumy , i want to eat this
Much tastier
Just saw this on my smart tv, woah
The scallops look better in HD
Such tiny portions!
Use fullscreen and the portions gets waaaay bigger.
TheDirle So funny~~^^
TheDirle lol funny
What are scallops?
Are you being serious?
In England, scallops are large flat potato things with batter on them

***** I actually love potato scallops. the only thing i eat from the chip shop.
Progress PixL
I rarely eat from the chipshop these days, my tongue has developed a liking for flavour from far flung places like KFC... :P
The High Def makes me a lot more hungry than the standard.
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love me some cayenne.
I can't tell the difference. I'm viewing this on an etch-a-sketch.
U sound like dave from lucky penny shop. :) giddy.
You know, he really kind of does! I never even realized that until I just read your comment!
I CAN SEE THE SEPERATE ATOMS
A dangerously hot pan
How much will dish cost in a 5 star restaurant?
The main issue is how much it will cost you to make it at home.
Id say close to 30 bucks, give or take
Great, now it looks SO delicious that I want to eat it through the Laptop ._.
eyes, your welcome!!
I am going to my fish mongers right now. Just have to try this now.
You should go on masterchef
If you put a smaller bowl inside the large bowl upside down it will be safer and catch all the corn you are trying to cut off. Learned the hard way with that one I would have corn all over the place.
My eyes!

I don't know why, but I hate spoons
DESTROYED scallops with all that fucking crap
it didn't ruin the scallops. The scallops made everything else better!

Will you marry me?
nobody cares bro.
I care bro.^^
Don't watch bro.

was talking about camera quality.
I think HD quality is much better than 360p. Looks more yummy. Isn't it bro? Have a yummy day bro.^^V
