Hello! I just wanted to thank you for providing so much inspiration. I haven't played with my paper since the Holidays. All of a sudden, I just have to start scrapping again. I'm seriously behind, feeling rusty and overwhelmed. Still, you're giving me great ideas to get warmed up and back into the swing of things. Thank you!
this is a great idea Irit! While I was unpacking my kit, I had the idea to group some of those tags and die cuts together also! But I just received my kit so I did not have time yet to play, but will today because they are announcing rain! So I will not let it rain on my parade and I will scrapbook! yeah!
This is a STELLAR video! I always seem to hit roadblocks with ephemera kits and they have so many pieces which ends up being both a blessing and a curse. They allow me to make a few clusters, but I always have lots remaining. I do subscribe to the Hip Kits and the entire kit is just packed. I also buy ephemera packs apart from other collections just because I do love them and quite frankly, they are a bargain with all the pieces. Your ideas are just wonderful and you were so creative to use so much from the pack. In addition, it gives me ideas for pieces from other kits that have similar styles to use up any pack I might be hoarding. Thank you so much!
This is a great idea and think I will just try to do this with some of these pieces as the kit came with so many and a layered look with embellies definitely gives the layout a neat look. Thanks for the inspiration, Irit!
Thanks for this. I sometimes get overwhelmed with the ephemera so I am definitely going to try this! It's better than having all those pieces just sitting forever in my stash. Thank you Irit.
Thank you for this! I have only done a few pages in my first scrapbook. I truly had no idea how to use the pieces that came with the paper kit I bought. I have a ton of paper, I do other paper crafts, but not as many embellishments. This made me more comfortable in figuring out how to use them.
ha! i could watch you fold laundry! i just love you! i loooooove how easy those clusters come together for you! and i have a TON of ephemera from older kits that i like, but i never remember to use, or fill in the blank with any excuse here! ha! i really can't wait to try this out! what a lovely video! ps - i hope you do get to go on a vacation soon, you've earned it!! :)
I've been scrapbooking and making cards for years, but this had a lot of information I can really use. I guess I've done some of this intuitively, but this helps me have more of a plan. Thank you for sharing
Thanks Irit. I have never tried this approach but it is something i should try. I have become a lot better at layering on the layout itself and not worrying about covering up some images. I am glad i am not the only one who finds there are random things in Crate Paper die cut packs. 😀
I LOVE the videos that have anything to do with teaching how to layer and cluster. I am finally gaining some confidence making my layouts! Thank you for sharing! Hope to see more! I've learned so much from you!
Sandra Dee Smith Thanks Sandra! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and found it useful! I'll do my best to post another tutorial about layering in the near future!
So glad you did another one of these! its been a while (since your last video on this topic) since i've done this!! very helpful in using all those bits and peices.
Great tutorial video Irit. Love the concept of creating the embellishment clusters beforehand, which takes away a lot of the guess work/undecidedness that happens to me. Thanks! Jess M :)
Really enjoyed this, tfs! I always have pieces left over, so this is a great idea to use them up. I do have a hard time covering up some of the pieces though, so I think I will have to dig out punches, and make extra pieces.
This is a great idea!! I would do this near the add of a kit, with all the pieces I had a hard time using, that way they get used up but I don't necessarily have to worry about how they will all fit together on a layout separately!! thanks for sharing this!!
I don't really get how people can put things together when they don't know what kind of page they are going to lay it on. What if the colors don't match something you want to put them on. I create as I go along depending what the theme and colors are for the layout. I know you work with a kit so I guess the colors will match any of those papers but I feel each layout may call for a different touch and customizing. I think it's cool that you can do this but for those of us who don't have so many embellys and can't afford to waste so much I think we are better creating the clusters and design on the page itself. Don't you want to use some of those tags for journaling or anything?
Valerie Turner i can only speak for myself, but when i get a kit with ephemera, i get overloaded and putting them together into clusters helps them actually get USED. So for me, its a good thing. Generally i've found i'm not so particular if i'm using a kit or collection if the clusters are exactly what i would have chosen.
Valerie Turner Hi Valerie! Thanks for commenting. I think this is def easier when working with a kit (bought or assembled from your stash), and I usually have an idea of what kind of photos I'm going to use, so I don't have trouble matching. However, it's also possible to create something more generic with non specific images, like hearts or cameras that would work with many photos. As for the amount, I mostly used here one ephemera pack and some tags. The wooden buttons can certainly be skipped or replaced by regular buttons that are cheaper. Tags can be made from any patterned paper and not necessarily ready made. So I think there's a lot of room to play here and make this work for you, but it's def not for everyone! I found it helpful and so I hoped it would be helpful to others. Thanks so much for watching!

I like how you added the frames and other bits to just the die cuts, it helps use more of your stash. Great video.
What a great tutorial and fun idea Irit! Thanks so much :)
You give valuable tips! I like how you share general thoughts to inspire instead of restrictive step by step tutorial. TFS

Thank you for sharing! I love this idea because I hate wasting the ephemera but can't always find a way to use it but this is a fantastic solution. 😊

LOVE this idea! I'm swimming/drowning in ephemera - can't wait to give this a try!
Thanks for doing these! Love them!
I really liked this video. tfs cheri
