This game would have been a lot more difficult for the #THFC if Son did not drop down and play like a wingback (1:34 3:58 6:18). And, the refereeing was sub-par. Hopefully, Kane will become match fit during the next few matches. Everyone else looked okay.

Kane wasn’t looking fully fit not just because it’s his first game back but also because José made him run back and forth the pitch constantly even though he should be staying up in the opposing half almost the entire game. (excluding corners and free kicks etc) It’s honestly a bit sad to see Kane in our own penalty box for half the game rather than finishing shots. Mourinho needs to understand that in the current state of football attacking is almost everything. He might need to start playing a 4-3-3.

@@skyla-idiot Kane wasn't looking fit because he hasn't played for nearly 6 months. He wasn't fit because he decided to grow a belly during the time off. And José wouldn't have played him more than an hour if he had a backup striker.
And as for him tracking back and helping out, yes, forwards do have to sacrifice and do that when you're protecting a lead. United were down a goal for the most of the game and yet Marcus Rashford was trying to mark Aurier.

You don't know Mourinho's tactics man I mean he's been in united and how can't you not know his tactics. The reason why Tottenham took less chances was because Tottenham were focusing more on the defense and cutting a lot of balls out which explains why united couldn't put a single goal except for one penalty. What Mourinho wanted was more counter attacks. But what Ole wanted was to take more possession which explains why Man U pressed really hard with their attackers so Tottenham could make a mistake and take possession of the ball. But more than possession Mourinho wanted a really clear chance and that's why Tottenham does a lot of long balls and look for a lot of open space. And Mourinho has a much defensive tactic which can be also seen when Son comes down to defend a lot of times. So it's really definite for Tottenham to have less possession on the ball. And get your facts right Tottenham had 3 shots on target out of 9 shots not 1. And having a lot of possession and a lot of shots doesn't make that team the better team at all that can be shown in the 2019 champions league final between Tottenham and Liverpool. Tottenham had 8 shots on target out of 16 shots and they had 65% possession of the ball while Liverpool only had 3 shots on target out of 14 shots. And Liverpool won 0-2. Having more chances and to lose or draw shows how much the opponent's defense did well to block the ball, the goalkeeper's ability and that the attackers' accuracy was not good enough.

And he don't even have the attacking options to switch! It's a strategy to suit every injured players who are recovering from! So back the Manager and he'll do the rest of the things in the fresh season!

Contract issues and players that were running their contracts down and didn’t want to be there. They were embarrassed by Bayern, yet they think that type of football under Poch was going to take them to new levels.
Some people watch football with emotions. Mourinho has already won more away games than Poch managed in the whole of last year. He’s taken them from 14th to 5th within a point of 4th place until injuries destroyed the momentum he’d built. Even now, they’re 8th and still have something to play for.
They keep using United has a way of slagging Mourinho off. They don’t realise he got United in five finals and won three, also came second in the league. All this in a space of two and a half seasons. Klopp needed three and a half seasons to win his first trophy. Pep needed 2 seasons and spending 400 million to win his first trophy. 200 million alone of defenders.
But these keyboard warriors think Mourinho can achieve all that in 7 months. The reason Mourinho is pragmatic is because he doesn’t have a good defence. It was self-evident under Poch. He’s trying to work out he’s best defensive options. Mourinho would rather pick up points than lose them. That’s the difference between him and a Poch.

Poch can be criticised for not winning trophies (premier league and champions league are a big ask, but he should have won a cup in 5 years with his squad), but the collapse wasn't his fault. But they were in the position they were in, and it had to be sorted out, and Mou couldn't be expected to do a better job of that than he has done

Blatant push on Pogba, Lamela should have been sent off in first half (those fouls left out funnily enough) for 6 at least fouls more than 2 of which were easily bookable considering James got booked for less. 2nd penalty was more a coming together than anything else and would have been harsh had it been given. Good goal by Bergwijn and a couple of top saves from Lloris saved them.
