    Great job. Works surprisingly well. Though I would have ditched the gate valve for a full bore lever valve

    I have more or less the same system at home, I have cut a tank feed into the header tank at the top, so the hot and cold feeds go to a aqualisa digital pumped shower unit.
    We have 8 bar of water pressure, which I have had to reduce down to 4, full bore valves everywhere and the system works perfectly.
    After a very long shower the water level gets very low, but has never run out. We cant use the boost function on the shower for very long tho.😁
    The float is a very interesting idea tho.👍

    Quick question a stuart moonson stopped letting the cold water flow through the pump any ideas . Installed another pump 1.7 bar salamander pressure Is too high from it to the shower. Any way to reduce the pressure and keep the same pump in. Pump feeding all cold supply to house, apart from kitchen sink.

    I had a fortic tank in a flat once, it used to get an airlock whenever drained too much, had to back feed with mains pressure water to clear airlock. And yeah, rubbish pressure and flow from that fortic tank.

      @@plumberparts Done quite a few of these pumped hot supplies on combi cylinders but without the float switch, just made sure there was a good mains flow to the ballvalve. We were told Salamander might argue with this type of install if making a warranty claim.

    These tanks can work properly. We've got one in a bungalow and it's fine. If the fittings and pipes are correct it shouldn't be a problem but everything is made for pressurised systems these days so when upgrades are done it no longer works as it should.

    I would have thought a real world test using the cold at the same time to fill the bath would have been better as that would have slowed the water going into the header tank meaning it would have cut out earlier, but if it works, all well and good

    • @davetay44
      @davetay44 Рік тому +2

      The float was just to stop the PUMP from running dry, it was the pump he installed in the bottom of the cupboard that was boosting the water pressure coming out of the tank

      @@plumberparts Its called Shower Power Booster - SP2B. I think it's compatible with all types of system but I did it on a gravity feed system connected directly next to the hot water tank. It mainly was to feed a shower but obviously boosts every tap as well. It autodetects flow, you hear the pump kick in get loads of power.

    • @plumberparts
      @plumberparts  Рік тому

      @christophersadler1499 although that would work, it would run dry on this system without the switch gear.
      Also this boosted the entire house.
      Well done on getting yours sorted!

      @@plumberparts ah yeah not seen little tanks like that before only big ones from loft so that makes sense with the float thing.
      The one I mention boosts whole house as well. The guy who invented it is mega nerdy and you can link 2 in series and they talk to each other to get mega flow if you have super low pressure. All your videos have helped me so much do my in-laws bathroom over the past month. Thanks
