The next turn effect only applies at 6 or more absolute resonance, which is only possible in current focused encounters if you use Lust (though human encounters would work.)
I guess they could raise the sinner limit back to 7 or higher next Canto, though.

After testing it, the biggest issue with the EGO is the cost, also, it works pretty well on a Liu team, it can fuel all the sins and its trivially easy to get a full lust or wrath ressonance.
