Grilled Grinder Sandwich with a Cabbage Grinder Slaw

Pork Tenderloin Grinder Sandwich with a Grinder Slaw Recipe
Ingredients:
2 pork tenderloins
2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 Tablespoons Killer Hogs AP Seasoning
2 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
1 loaf French bread
4 Tablespoons Garlic Butter
6-8 slices provolone cheese
1 tomato thinly sliced
Grinder Slaw Recipe
1 10-12oz bag shredded cabbage
1 small red onion thinly sliced
1/2 cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
1 cup mayonnaise
1 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 Tablespoon sub oil
2 teaspoons Killer Hogs AP Seasoning (you can sub salt, pepper and garlic to taste)
Directions:
1. Combine the shredded Cole slaw, red onion, pepperoncini, Mayo, red wine vinegar, & sub oil in a bowl. Season with AP seasoning and place in refrigerator for at least an hour.
2. Trim any fat or sinew from pork tenderloins and pat dry with paper towel. Combine AP seasoning and Italian seasoning in a dredge shaker and generously coat each tenderloin
3. Prepare charcoal grill for 2 zone grilling - hot and cool side.
4. Place each tenderloin on the cooking grate over the hot side of the grill. Cook for 1 minute each side then turn until all 4 sides have some color.
5. Move the tenderloins to the cool side and continue to cook until internal temperature reaches 135-140 degrees. Total cook time is about 15 minutes.
6. Remove the tenderloin from the grill and loosely cover with foil. Rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
7. Split the French bread in half lengthwise and spread garlic butter on each side. Toast the bread lightly in the oven on broil or on the grill.
8. Slice the pork tenderloin into thin medallions. To build the grinder sandwich: place a couple slices of provolone on the bread followed by thin slices of the pork. Top with more cheese and place back in the oven or on the grill just long enough to melt the cheese. Top with the grinder slaw and slices of tomato along with the top half of French bread.

Malcolm is my go to guy when I look for something else to smoke or grill. I followed the smoked turkey recipe breast last year for Thanksgiving and it was money.

Same here. It was my first time ever doing a Turkey, let alone for the entire family that weren't too keen since they say turkey is dry, so the stakes should of been high, but I was confident in doing it Malcom's way that it would turn out just as good. Oh man they loved it.

Growing up in CT, any sub/hoagie was called a grinder. Slaw or salad wasn’t necessarily part of it but I’m really intrigued by it. These look GOOD!
Edit: I realized this may be a viral recipe for a grinder. My bad. I’m old I guess.
I grew up in northeast Mass and we had subs and grinders. I live in the Midwest now these last 25 years and have long forgotten the difference between a sub and grinder. I've gotten turned on to slaw on pulled pork subs/sammiches and it's surprisingly good. But I only eat them that way with pulled pork. When I don't slaw up pulled pork I like a simple SPG rub, and build the sandwich with a homemade cracked black pepper white dressing sauce.
I'm in the same boat lol. Grew up in central MA. Video had me confused for a second.
CT native also confused by the need for slaw on a grinder. Locals called a sub a grinder because most meat or cheese sliced with a meat grinder. Just a regional word. Sandwich looks great and meat sliced. Maybe he's a from our area but loves slaw? I do but only on a pulled pork sandwich but maybe works on all types of pork... Something new to try.

Wow just found your channel… love it… I’m also a big guy who loves to grill…I make similar sandwich and slaw.. but instead of red onions I use green and shallots.. salt pepper onion and garlic powder…I also put barbecue sauce and glaze my pork loin …I slice thin just like what you did..no cheese but instead I use Doritos… gives a cheesy and a crunch to the sandwich .. also I make them into sliders… when the creamy from the slaw mixes with the barbecue sauce on the pork.. it’s heaven…they do not last when we do cookouts…

Damn nice Malcom, I'm going to do this next time I pull out my charcoal grill. thanks fella that looks ridiculous. Note I've been doing my Pork Tenderloins for years to 140 internal after growing up with Parents thinking they had to cook pork like chicken, always so dry and way overdone.
Same here, I was 19 or 20 years old before I realized I liked pork! I just always thought it was tough and dry period. Mom’s 89 years old now and still a little skeptical about pork if it’s tender and juicy. 😅
@@stevee7774 Yeah, this is a very common experience. They went through the trichinosis scare and it effected their psyche. Luckily my mom's pretty adaptive and she came around, but there's tons of people out there that won't eat _any_ meat unless it's been cooked to death and at that point I'm just like, "what's the point?"

Call me a religious zealot if you must but I do NOT think tomato (or lettuce!) belong in a sandwich... And yes, this includes burgers! :D Btw, kudos for going with the slaw, IMHO much better choice.
If you like fresh garlic, before grilling take a paring knife & puncture about 8 slits on the top/bottom of meat ( appx. 1/2 inch deep ) spaced out the length of the meat deep enough to put 1/2 garlic clove in there, they will roast while grilling, really adds flavor

This is just a sub right. Or am I missing something? Sorry I'm from NE And I'm slightly confused cause I've never heard lettuce tomato and onion called grinder salad nor that it's an important part of a grinder/sub as you wouldn't put it on a steak and cheese, or a chicken parm for example.
Looking at multiple vids this afternoon on an Italian type grinder I'm doing tonight! Gonna use the Idea of broiling the bread in garlic butter. I dont have any garlic butter but a plan to make my own. Also curious? Where I could find that kinda material for drapes on my deck this fall? Looks like it breathes but keeps out wind n rain when cooking and also allows light. Very cool....

Amazing video like always! Been following you for 3 years now when I got my first pellet grill. I ended up getting a gmg smoker. First Recipe of yours I tried was for some baby back ribs. My friends and family fell in love lol. One of my family favorites is when I make fresh corn wrapped in foil woth butter and your ap/ Salt pepper and garlic. Love my gmg for the most part but been thinking about upgrading to a different smoking, any Suggestions what I should get? Would like to keep it under the 2500 mark. And thanks again!
