I have spent 3 full nights in the correct spot, using the size 5 jerkbait per the quest, and I've never gotten the gold sauger. I honestly believe the quest is broken.
Same here. I've been trying this for 6 hours now. I've been primarily using stop & go with the jerkbait, but have also tried twitching and using a float with minnow, redworm and leeches. This spot is full of pike and quite a few freshwater drums which are a nightmare to reel in. A 20lb gold rank freshwater drum took me 15 minutes to reel in. In my 6 hours, only one sauger, which was bronze.
I tried so long using the stop and go at all speeds with no success. I changed to twitching as per your suggestion and exactly as yours did as soon as the bait hit the surface on the retrieve it was inhaled thankyou so much dude. Now for sophias gold channel cat before I tick off that pike :)

Lol first cast for me 🤷♂️ 9 seconds to reel it in. Also FYI to folks just so you know you can access your storage at the back of your vehicle. You don’t have to go all the way to the shop.
You should Explore around every building you can see from here i found a wallet and some other stuff, Also follow the Train Tracks all the way across the bridge from Tunnel to Tunnel , keep your eyes open for items

i can farm the gold sauger with redworm, but can not catch one fish with the jerkbait. is it possible im using the wrong reel and the 1 speed is too fast?
I had no issue with this mission surprisingly I'm on ps4 and I blue screen constantly going in a boat using spin rod and norway lure mission is bugged aswell alot of bugs on old gen

What am I supposed to do if my game crashed in the middle of the instructions and now every time I go to where I need to it won't let me finish the mission???
I’ve caught two gold saugers at night from this dock and it still won’t finish out this portion of the mission. It stilll wants me to catch a gold ranked sauger
@@samuelbeasley339 ok it took me four days to complete. my problem was i was in the wrong location. i was at the right lake but i kept fast traveling a little south. watch where he pins the location. once i got there i caught him second cast. if youre already there ill tell you other tricks i learned but make sure youre in the right location. its not there the big railroad bridge is to the left, i kept going there. its a bit north, like the next fast fast travel point.
This quest is broken, and sauger don’t even like jerkbait. If you throw a 5 hook with a minnow on it, you’ll catch a gold sauger in less than one minute. But it doesn’t count since it’s not a jerkbait.
I'm hard stuck on this mission only because I must be bugged I guess? Literally stuck on "Read Instructions" it will not progress. Restarting game doesn't fix it either. Doesn't seem to be a way to quit the mission entirely and grab it again from the board. Anyone know a fix for this?? Can't find any help to this anywhere nor the Discord.

Were you able to complete it? I got it after a reboot using the Constant technique. You don't need to catch it using Stop and Go.

The crazy thing is, of all the fish the one that's literally the easiest fish in real life to catch theybmake the hardest.

see my issue is, when I accepted the mission, they never gave me the size 5 jerk bait lure, and since I'm only level 8 I can't buy one.

What I did to catch one right away was twitched at 1 speed tell I seen one following it then went to constant

The game wants me to catch a gold sunfish and it keeps catching me catfish and perch. I use right hooks and bait and still nothing
