BONJOUR LIL DOODLES!! i'm visiting PARIS this month so i wanted to make my bullet journal setup this month inspired by the elegant & relaxed france/parisian vibes 🥐🇫🇷 i'll be vlogging the trip but you can also follow along on my instagram @amandarachlee :) LEAVE RECOMMENDATIONS BELOW!
My Recommendation is La Durée for great macarons and Shakespeare and Company for books à la ‘Before’ Trilogy (English books are relatively expensive in France. This tip was from Jack Edwards)
You should go through the rue de Rivoli which goes from place de la Concorde, passes in front of the Louvre and the Jardin des Tuileries and the Marais (gay neighbourhood). You should also visit the Jardin du Luxembourg which are beautiful. The Rodin museum is also beautiful with gardens filled with statues.
As a French person, parisian nonetheless, I usually find tourists adorable. As long as you're not imagining Emily in Paris, France should not disappoint. I hope you're going to have a lovely time here!!
i was in paris once (like 7 years ago) and i loved it! we brought our bikes with us and we went to all those pretty streets with beautiful architecture, so yeah paris should not be dissapointing :)
@@RebeccaLouisePeacock I can't say if it is expensive as I've not lived in another country to compare. But from what I know it isn't that expensive if you avoid the tourist traps. For example, I'd recommend cooking your own food, avoid touristy restaurants, avoid Disneyland (it's pricey and really there's better things to see), walk or use public transports, buy stuff in normal shops not tourist specific spots. Most people aren't rude but if you disturb someone or annoy them they'll probably won't be are very welcoming or accomodating. We aren't known to be nice, probably because we are quite self centered and aren't very welcoming. But frankly, most people won't be rude. You just have to know a few things about how french people normally act.
Take a day or two to visit the countryside around Paris. It's been 20 years I've been to France, but I love their culture. You won't ever forget the memories you make, especially while traveling. Have a blessed visit!
Bonjour ! Nice to hear you come to see us, especially if it's your first time in Europe. Hope you're going to enjoy your time in our country. A few tips for you : in Paris, don't skip the Musée d'Orsay, it's a classic of course but there is an atmosphere here you won't find anywhere else, as the museum used to be a railway station. And now two things to do in Paris that foreigner tourists don't know about : visit the Musée Jacquemart André, it used to belong to a rich family who build a "hotel particulier", wealthiest houses you could find in Europe back in the days. The place is rather small and very french-like, I'm sure you're gonna love it, especially the "jardin d'hiver". If you got time I think you'd like to have a nice tea or coffee in the garden of the Musée de la vie romantique too. About Nice : I still don't know why people go to visit Nice. I guess it is to see Provence, which is a good idea, but why Nice ? I don't know. As a girl living in Provence since I was born, I'd be advancing to go see lavender fields near Valensole or beautiful villages in Luberon like Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Lourmarin, Saignon etc... But if you go to Nice anyway, I think you should have a day trip to go visit la Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and the Saint Paul de Vence, a beautiful village of Provence where Picasso used to have his workshop. Hope this will be helpfull !
So pretty! Amanda, you’ve literally helped my mental health so much by doing these plan with me. I’ve been following you and journaling since 2018! Thank you for all you do ❤️
How lovely you come to pay us a visit Amanda! Your French translations in your video were perfect! In June, (my favorite season) in Paris, you have to enjoy the beautiful gardens! Tuileries, Luxembourg, Jardin des Plantes. If you really want to see Paris as a Parisian, avoid de Sacré Coeur, but visit the butte around and beneath Montmartre touristic area ( try the ice creams of une glace à Paris at Abbesses); at the foot of the sacré coeur, visit la halle Saint pierre, a small galerie with a small café) You will love walking on the Seine borders, ending up in quartier latin and Saint Germain where you’ll find many restaurants. Visit the Sainte Chapelle in stead of Notre Dame, you will be amazed! Le Marais must be on your list! Shopping, beautiful old Parisian houses (don’t mis the oldest one 51 rue Montmorency), plenty of museums, marché des enfants rouges (for a lunch break)… Walk buy the Canal Saint Martin, for a real contemporary vibe of Paris. Rue Montmartre, rue Saint Orgueil, rue des Rosiers, rue Mouffetard… For the Louvre: you’ll have to decide either to spend 3 days there or choose one area and enjoy it fully, because it is really huge! There are so many beautiful museums in Paris… Picasso, Rodin, Orsay, Orangerie, Foundation Louis Vuitton, see if you can visit Petit Palais! You’ll need to come back if you want to see all this! 😂 Use the bus in stead of the metro, same price, slower indeed, but you will see WAYYYY more of Paris. Be careful if you use the bikes… 😱 Parisian drivers don’t know how to deal safely with bikes! I know it is difficult to avoid touristic areas cause you want to see the highlights, but I hope you will have time to wonder around and fill your eyes with beautiful things (I know you will) You are lucky, the weather will be great! Enjoy Paris, have a safe trip, make beautiful memories ❤️ Thank you for your video’s!
If you haven’t already planned it, please go see Monet’s Garden in Giverny! It’s only roughly an hour away by train but it’s absolutely beautiful and a place I still think about four years after visiting!
One of my fave experiences in Paris was watching the street performers at the Sacre Coeur. Since it’s at the top of this huge hill you get an amazing view of the city and the sunset from there was so gorgeous! And also visit Marie Antoinette’s estate in Versailles. It’s real cute and I know it would make for great inspiration for some artwork. Happy early birthday and enjoy your trip!
Something I’d definitely recommend when in Paris is visiting some of the many passages with all the cute shops and cafes. I visited Passage Verdeau and got a lot of vintage stamps and cards there. Enjoy your trip❤️
This is such a beautiful spread! I hope you enjoy your visit! I'd also like to mention that this month I'm starting my very first bullet journal, all because of you! Thank you so much for inspiring me
3 advices: 1)search for a free tour and book it (at the end you pay a tip to the tour guide so it's not really free but they do a very good job in my experience). I loved the one to Montmatre. 2-if you are planning to visit Louvre check first their website and select or choose which pieces you want to see... otherwise you could feel overwhelmed and focussed on something you are not really that much into it). Seriously it's big enought to spend a week just visiting it so check and choose first. And check the route inside with the map in advance. 3- I loved the Rodin museum, part of the sculptures are outside in a garden is very impressive. Also: keep in mind Everything is smaller in Europe (room size, bed, streets, etc).
I just got back from Paris! It's beautiful right now! See the Louvre-hit the highlights it's magical. The Luxembourg Jardin is worth the walk through, and just sit in a cafe for 2 hours, eat, drink and people watch. It's amazing how much they enjoy their day to day vs American "hustle" culture.
I have been to Paris multiple times …. I would suggest the Orsay Museum - be sure to go to the top floor and look through the clock for a stunning view of Paris, Monet’s home just outside of Paris - it’s an easy train ride and then a short hop on a bus … the gardens are incredible. Finally grab a cab at night and have them drive you around to see Paris at night especially the Eiffel Tower sparklingly in the night sky. It’s a completely amazing city and if all you did was land and then walk around it would be wonderful. Word of caution at the airport make certain if you take a cab to you hotel it’s a ligit taxi and not a gypsy.
I would research ways to buy tickets to museums (especially the Louvre if you go) ahead of time - that was you don’t have to wait in a long line just to get your ticket. If you’re staying at a small hotel or with a host, ask them for their neighborhood recommendations - their favorite bakery, cafe, etc. Locals know best! Try finding a farmers’ market - they are always a lot of fun! You can get yourself a picnic lunch - some bread, cheese, fruit, pastries - and go sit in a park and people watch. Above all, enjoy! I’m sure you’ll have a blast!
Hey, I went to Paris last summer and of course did all the tourist stuff and I really enjoyed the “L'Atelier des Lumières”. I really think you would enjoy it too. I really hope you enjoy your trip ☺️🇫🇷
Coming from someone who has been to Paris 5 times now, you need to visit Versailles! The palace and gardens are beautiful, it’s a wonderful half day/day trip, you won’t regret it! Hope you have a nice trip!
If you have the opportunity to get a bit outside of Paris, I definitely recommend going to Giverny, Monet's house where he got a lot of inspiration for his paintings, the gardens are beautiful!!
My class was supposed to go to France this year but it got canceled so we are doing it virtually through zoom. I also started learning French. This is so serendipitous 🥰🥰🥰 love you Amanda have fun on your trip!
also, spring is the perfect time to visit Giverny and Monet's gardens which inspired his water lilies (which you can see in the Orangerie). The Buttes Chaumont park is the most beautiful one in Paris :) and a great restaurant for typical French food from the South-East is Chez Papa - it's a chain, but if you go to the one near Denfert Rochereau (in the 14th arrondissement) you wouldn't know, it's delicious!
I recommend you to visit the "passages" : la galerie Vivienne, le passage Vero-Dodat, (near Palais Royal) le passage Jouffroy... Sure you'll like it 😉 "La Rose de France" place Dauphine, lovely place for eating and with a tour cruise on the Seine, you can see a lot of famous landmarks with an nice view. Bon voyage Amanda et joyeux anniversaire !
Definitely go to Quartier Latin and wander around the streets, seat in a cafe if you have time... and I know it is super cliché but that is Paris, tiny cafés in sketchy streets that serve the most amazing croissants you have ever tasted!!!! Also speaking of croissant, you do want to try local pastry, any boulangerie would do 😍😍😍 Monuments: I do recommend the Sainte Chapelle if you have time, I visited it the last time I went to Paris and I loved it.
Hi Amanda the places I think you should visit : Nausicaá Centre National de la Mer - aquarium Disney land Paris The Notre damn Musée du Louvre - museum The effilé tower Château de Versailles- Côte d'Azur Gardens at the Palace of Versailles Alsace Villages Loire Valley Châteaux Not sure if these places are where you going to be visiting but I went to the aquarium and Disney land Paris and they were amazing - The aquarium was so relaxing and pretty definitely a good one to go to if you were near there I hope you have an amazing time in Paris I love this theme it’s so pretty 🥰
Welcome to my country Amanda! You’re gonna love Paris!!! You may be inspired by the Parc de Bagatelle, my fav one in Paris. And if you want to look like a Parisian girl, don’t forget to “faire la bise”. Xoxo
I’ve been to both Paris and Nice! It sounds like it will be a wonderful trip for you! I recommend the restaurant L’As du Fallafel in Paris! I haven’t been since like 2016 and I STILL think about their falafel! 😭
don’t know if it is still going on, but when I went to Paris in May, there was a PopAir exhibit at La Villette which is really cool. it’s all centred on balloons and there’s a massive ball pit swimming pool. it took us about two hours to go through it all and it was so worth it 🎈🌸 i hope you enjoy Paris
Food things! Le Soufflé-every thing is a soufflé at this restaurant Louis L’Amie-the best shoestring fries to ever grace your taste buds. Museé D’Orsay-impressionism yay and a nice change of pace from the chaos of the Louvre.
As a fan of art I have to suggest that you go see "le musée rodin" it's my personal favorite in Paris (it's sculptures) and as for activities to feel really the "Paris vibe" even if it's kind of cliché breakfast at a Cafe!
as a tourist who has been in paris a few months ago, the city is lovely, the coffee in the cafes is not that good (i am italian, it's true, but...). What i loved most were the orangerie and pere laches, hope you enjoy them as well!
when you're in paris you should definitely use the metro / subway to get around. it's super easy and a lot quicker than taxis cause the traffic is so bad all the time. there's a metro stop every now and then and the metro itself is also super tourist-friendly and accessible. and when you're at the louvre, check out bistrot richelieu, their cesar salad is amazing!! i hope you enjoy your trip!
The Louvre is always a good spot. I loved the Tuileries gardens. Since Norte Dam is being repaired you probably can’t go in but it is beautiful. Montmartre is also a great place, I haven’t been back since the 80’s but I’m sure whatever you choose to do you will love it all. Paris is such a wonderful city. You will also love the South of France. Have a wonderful trip.
Loved the theme, but there is absolutely nothing easy-going about Paris haha enjoy your time here, it is the most beautiful city in the world and you deserve a treat!
I am half French with my dad being an immigrant from France. If you can Amanda I recommend checking out the town of Frejus. It is so beautiful and my grandparents lived there for the last years of their lives. I also recommend trying to learn a bit of french. The shopkeepers love it from my own experience as an American tourist. Also the lines for Le Louvre and Versailles if you are planning to go are incredibly long so wear comfy shoes.
Hi hope you will enjoy your trip, it is lucky that you get to visit more than just Paris as France has much more to offer. Other than the subway that may be on the negative experiences of Paris, I have no doubts you will have a great time, happy birthday in advance!
I'm gonna start journaling in June which is couple of days later been following you for 2 years and just got my dream come true cuz of you Amanda ✨ thx:) love ya ❤️
lmao random tid bit- but i took french in middle and high school and i think since then my mom thought i was like obsessed w france/paris?? s/o to wholesome asian parents taking small interests and thinking it’s ur entire personality. nonetheless still loved this months theme. c’est très belle!
My first bullet journal spread is the New York skyline 2017 Since then I am following you Looking back that spread to this you have come a long way Keep shining 💛
Your new bullet journal is giving me professional travel planner and I’m the chatty (yet also very anxious) traveler when I go solo. Also, I like to prep and then end up forgetting it. It’s almost like I get possessive with my travel memories.
I always visit the Musee d'Orsay, this is the one place I always come back to. The museum houses my favorite artists and the architecture is gorgeous. I also recommend Montmartre located behind Sacre-Coeur.
Beautiful spread! Please do share your details on sketching the Eiffel Tower and the window. I visited Paris in 1999 when I was 14 and remember loving it. I am sure you had a lovely time.
I love Sacre Coeur and Montmartre - the open air market/ square at Montmartre is truly what Paris is all about (to me anyway)! Obvs you also have to walk up and down the Champs Elysee - sooooo romantic!!
There’s a gorgeous village named Maison Lafitte which I highly recommend. It’s on the metro line in Paris. It has a fabulous Manor House, gorgeous patisseries & small businesses. Quintessential French village but within a few minutes of the city. Plus Disneyland Paris is well worth a day trip. Enjoy!
As a parisian it's always funny to see tourists with a beret but you do look cute with it! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time in Paris and France in general
Check out the BATO boat! its like a hop on hop off boat that will take you to different monuments or parts of the city near the river! Its gorgeous and was my favorite way to explore
Je te recommande de visiter les musées d'art! (i would recommend you visit the art museums!) J'adore m'assoir et redessiner les oeuvres (I also love just sitting down and drawing the various art pieces). Bon voyage! (Have a nice trip!) 💛
Vive la France! Paris is awesome, I'm sure you will love it. I would suggest taking a day trip to the coast of France on a bullet train and just wandering around a random town in Brittany. Cities outside of Paris definitely have a different vibe, and you can enjoy their hard cider and tasty food and just chill. :D
In the Louvre you must visit the appartement of Napoleon 3 because it is so insane lol. If there’s a tour I would recommend taking that! Other than that Shakespeare & Company the bookstore is very nice ✨✨✨ and Pantheon!
Ooooh that's so cool !! I'm from France and I have watched your videos for so long, it always inspire me ;) I wish you a very happy tripp have fun for your birthday !
I love this theme idea! I am going to copenhagen in june so inspired by your video, I decicated my monthly spread to the city I am visiting :) Also for Paris, my favorite ice cream place is Berthillon near Ile St. Louis, kinda expensive but very good. And the "Wall of Love" in Montmarte is also a very cool place!

hi amanda this is my dream land i love paris i am from indonesia i always want to go to paris

@@amandarachlee you can check Le Louvres opens once or twice a week at night and it’s really nice to see
I definitely agree with the sainte chapelle. Really really really you must visit it. This is an extraordinary piece of medieval architecture.

Shakespeare and Company bookstore. One the most iconic bookstores for sure and a must see.
The gift that keeps on giving 💜💜 I've never been to Paris, but I hope that you have a safe and happy birthday trip there!
I’d recommend visiting Italy next! the architecture and art is mesmerizing too, I love it there🥰✨

I highly recommend the Museo D’Orsay, it was the highlight of my family’s trip to Paris

Omg, finally we have a Paris theme + light academia... Have a nice trip Amanda :D

I have always wanted to visit France ever since I was a little girl 🇫🇷 So I am loving this spread 😍✨️🖤
As a fan of art I have to suggest that you go see "le musée rodin" it's my personal favorite in Paris (it's sculptures) and as for activities to feel really the "Paris vibe" even if it's kind of cliché breakfast at a Cafe!
omg je vais aussi à Paris plus tard en juin! (omg i'm also going to Paris later in June) 💛
I can seriously imagine u in a cafe in Paris with ur aesthetic journal 😌
I am also so excited for ur vlogs of ur trip
as a tourist who has been in paris a few months ago, the city is lovely, the coffee in the cafes is not that good (i am italian, it's true, but...). What i loved most were the orangerie and pere laches, hope you enjoy them as well!
This setup might be my fav!!!! I was gonna do a strawberry theme but now I’m definitely doing this!!
Actually, I should do it in Sep or Aug because I’ll be going to Paris around then right now a seashell one seems better
I can't believe it's already June!! I mark time with Amanda's plan with me videos haha
when you're in paris you should definitely use the metro / subway to get around. it's super easy and a lot quicker than taxis cause the traffic is so bad all the time. there's a metro stop every now and then and the metro itself is also super tourist-friendly and accessible. and when you're at the louvre, check out bistrot richelieu, their cesar salad is amazing!! i hope you enjoy your trip!
This absolutely perfect for me since im going to paris this month!!! lysm amanda!!!

lmao random tid bit- but i took french in middle and high school and i think since then my mom thought i was like obsessed w france/paris?? s/o to wholesome asian parents taking small interests and thinking it’s ur entire personality. nonetheless still loved this months theme. c’est très belle!
My first bullet journal spread is the New York skyline 2017
Since then I am following you
Looking back that spread to this you have come a long way
Keep shining 💛
The louvre always has hours of waiting time.. I recommend the waterlelies at Musee d’Orsay if you want something a little less crowded
This spread is so cute!!! I would love to go to France some day and I can use what little I remember from my high school French classes lol
Make sure you see Musee d'Orsay! It's the nicest. Also, Arc d' Triumph, you can climb to the top and get really good pics!
I get the motivation to keep journaling because of you I have been journaling for 2 years now inspired by your videos!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️
enjoy france Amanda! i hope you're going to love it as much as your french lil noodles love you! continue a griffonner ❤
I’m going to Paris for my birthday!! My birthday is in July though. IM GOING THIS YEAR!
I also recommend Montmartre located behind Sacre-Coeur.
omg this theme is literally the cutest!!! I hope you have an awesome time in paris!!!
My favorite museum in Paris is le musée de l'orangerie, where you can see the beautiful paintings from Claude Monet!
Hope you have a lovely trip, I’ve never been to Paris but I recently came back from 2 months in Nice and it was Beautiful!! 💗
i love your vids !! they are so aesthetic and relaxing to watch. u inspire me sm
Beautiful spread! Please do share your details on sketching the Eiffel Tower and the window. I visited Paris in 1999 when I was 14 and remember loving it. I am sure you had a lovely time.
Amanda, I think this spread of yours is one of my favourites. Stunning ❤️
Make sure to visit Shakespeare and Company! I had lunch outside the cafe also and it was such a nice day overlooking Notre Dame.
So PRETTY, and your Paris hat is looking nice on you. It's nude shade is pretty much boho. Love your bujo setup !
Check out the BATO boat! its like a hop on hop off boat that will take you to different monuments or parts of the city near the river! Its gorgeous and was my favorite way to explore
omg this will be perfect for my july spread because i’m going to france!!
Are you going to watch the tour???
🚲🚴♂️🚵♀️
@@margueritemitchell1829 yess!
You can also say Salute as well for a less formal greeting
Je te recommande de visiter les musées d'art! (i would recommend you visit the art museums!) J'adore m'assoir et redessiner les oeuvres (I also love just sitting down and drawing the various art pieces). Bon voyage! (Have a nice trip!) 💛
hey Amanda!
actually since you were confused about the type of aesthetic, it's called "Light Academia"
yo were right about it being academia ^^
Hi Amanda. I was waiting for a vedio from you
Thank you so much for posting when in needed it the most
im going to france this month so this is perfect!! ❤️❤️❤️ we love u amanda!!
Happy Birthday Amanda!! This set up turned out gorgeous!! Enjoy your birthday and Paris.
Love the spread you made love the minimalist vibe
oh i literally came back from paris yesterday, i live in the north of france :) hope you'll have a great time !!
I love traveling I used to travel all over Europe when I used to live in the Uk 🧳
In the Louvre you must visit the appartement of Napoleon 3 because it is so insane lol. If there’s a tour I would recommend taking that! Other than that Shakespeare & Company the bookstore is very nice ✨✨✨ and Pantheon!
ahhh I’ve always wanted to do a Paris theme but wasn’t sure how to draw it myself! Thankyou Amanda! 🥰♥️✨
i love how i am bout to finsh up french this semester in school
Ooooh that's so cool !! I'm from France and I have watched your videos for so long, it always inspire me ;) I wish you a very happy tripp have fun for your birthday !
I love this theme idea! I am going to copenhagen in june so inspired by your video, I decicated my monthly spread to the city I am visiting :)
Also for Paris, my favorite ice cream place is Berthillon near Ile St. Louis, kinda expensive but very good. And the "Wall of Love" in Montmarte is also a very cool place!
Thank you Amanda! I was last week in France, but get a bit of a trauma there. This helps me a lot to get over it!
