Hi secondlife! Living in the outskirts of Sihanoukville since 15 years, your video is absolutely fine for me. Simple and accurate,I was in Bangkok long time ago, driving a 400cc kawa, and now,in Cambodia,my Honda click(125cc) is perfect for this country driving habits. I hope that beginners will be convinced to follow your advice.😊
I found your UA-cam channel as this came up on my feed, probably because of algorithms, I was looking for a moto to buy. When I moved here 4 months ago, I said I would never drive anything in Phnom Penh. After 4 months of tuktuks I think I can do it. Thanks for the tips, especially about the helmet.
G'day mate , all good tips especially about the helmet, very cheap insurance indeed , no need to speed just take it easy and enjoy exploring.. Catchya...
Thanks a lot! I am moving this summer to Phnom Penh for some years and was just searching for the kind of motorcycle I would love to drive and whether good helmets are available. All questions answered😂 Can't wait to drive. Maybe see you at an expat event...
Great and practical advice, will be back in PP in a few weeks and will be buying a scooter and despite having a 1000cc Kawasaki in the UK , I will be buying an auto scooter but wanting to stay shinny side up and safe so some good pointers from your video here. Thanks for the tip re where to buy a decent helmet so I def owe you a beer if see you about but of course minus any scooters .
So funny! I lived in PP for 2 years. One accident on my dirt bike. There was was expression I knew of " It's not if, it's when you have an accident then how much and how badly are you hurt" I hit a car, stupid me, I just got my clutch repaired, I my Khmer friend, Dara was sitting in front of his shop bike shop. I hammered out of the intersection, hit a car infront of a police station. I tore the bumper off the car, smashed my elbow. In the end. I paid pram dollar because Dara knew the cops and I walked away scott free- sort of.
No one has ever tried to steal my phone. Anyway, thieves would steal a phone from people who have no chance of catching up, such as people in tuk tuks or pedestrians, not someone who can chase them down on a moto.
Wise tips, it seems to be driving a bike in Cambodia is even worst than The Philippines, talking about PH I do have a Filipino driver license. As far as I know are good for any SE Asian country, no need of International DL (AESIAN countries, included Cambodia). My question: Do I need to get the Cambodian driver license if I drive a over 125 cc? Thanks!!!!
I been wondering about that particular 150cc make/model. Wondering how it would hold up to being driven across country trip (usa), if one sticks to roads where speed limit is 55mph. Could it stand up to long distance trips of 1200 miles or more?
There are Westerners in other countries that have done that. We're going to Kratie on that thing in a few weeks. I'll let you know how it goes. 2 adults and a baby.
@@cryptoblaze1983 Technically yes, you do need a license to drive anything over 125cc. Lots of people don't, though. I personally would. You can also buy a PCX 125, which is identical but with a 125cc engine. You do not need a license for that.
Good tips. Especially in this heat, I love having a bike to jump on to go around the corner for a quick trip to the store.
Same here!

Do not cheap out on your helmet! Soft tissue damage is usually repairable, but brains are not!
I was planning to buy a CB650f, but your video made me change my mind. I guess PCX is a good choice.
You should buy the PCX!
I will😊
Perfect timing, I was thinking of trying a scooter for when I visit Cambodia, thanks for a tip!
To be honest, only a good idea if you've driven a scooter before.
"It's better late than never". Size does matter and great tips for sharing this . Cheers 🍷
Absolutely!

I had 1100cc in America and 500cc in Thailand. A 150cc PCX is perfect for Cambodia, though.
If you can read body movements you can ride in Cambodia
good places to buy a bike?
@@peterRobinson10101 Lots of shops near Olympic Stadium. You can use Google Maps.

@@peterRobinson10101 Nah, I have an expensive bike and haven't needed one.

How about theft with that phone holder. They won't steal your phone while idling?

Happens all the time
Wellcome to Cambodia 😊😊
Thank you for the warm welcome!
Great Common sense advice 👍
Glad you think so!

Yes, you do need a license for over 125cc.
@@SecondLifeTravels1 Thanks for your kind response and good luck with your channel!
For a tuk tuk I would need a Cambodian license ? Being a landscape painter I’d like to transport easel and stuff ?
Sorry, I don't know. I have known several foreigners who wanted to buy/drive a tuk tuk, yet I have never seen a foreigner actually driving one.
Are these 150cc scooters powerful enough for a 320 pound man to drive?
Yep
What kind of driving license do I need to drive a Honda PCX 150 in Cambodia
You will need a full motorcycle license for anything above 125cc.
Are there any electric bikes in Cambodia? Preferably for rent?
There are definitely electric bikes in Cambodia. I don't know if they are for rent or not.

How about driver license for foreigner?
You cam convert your existing license easily.
Eric, where did you buy the phone holder?
Ali Express.

@Second Life Travels That's what I was considering. That way I won't have to renew a Cambodian driver's license every year.
Ride not drive.😅
Slow down
Darn right!
