I don’t know. I see a whole slew of ethical controversy regarding how the doctor diagnosed him. It’s a little disappointing but it could be worse…could have been Donald douchebag Trump. Bone Spurs and all. Lol
He also average almost 3 blocks every single year during his 10 years career, if he didn't got injured I think he would have been one of the best defensive center all time
The second overall pick is not a tiny "dote" on NBA history. There was a reason he was second. People don't seem to remember, but Mike didnt come into this league as the GOAT he had to develop his game into being what he was. At the time Bowie seemed a good pick because at the time it was a Big Mans league.
sadly sam bowie is worst busts of NBA History only Hakeem Olajuwon & Micheal Jordan was NBA Best Sam Bowie should have retired in few seasons in the NBA 1984-1995
it's a shame that he was delt with such a bad card not because of Jordan but to have a bad luck with his injuries. He would have been a hall of fame otherwise. He seems like a cool guy though
Sam Bowie has every right to be bitter if he chooses. He wasn't a bust, and picking him over Jordan wasn't a mistake for Portland. Jordan likely never becomes Jordan if he gets drafted by Portland.
No chance. Jordan wouldn't have been able to get on the court, Portland already had Drexler and Paxson, the latter of which was all-NBA. Jordan would have had to play point guard or he would have been a reserve. The Blazers would not have been able to build around him.
good thing Jordan never play for Portland that NBA Team must be Cursed cause lot of good player end them career on Injury it good thing MJ was a pick in Chicago Bulls cause Sam Bowie is the worst Draft pick of 1984 feel bad for him
As a Portland fan, we had Drexler a Hall of Famer, so it made sense to draft a big. But then we did it again in 2007 with Greg Oden, Durant is going to the Hall of Fame. tough break
I can feel your pain Sam because your body only lasted one year truly I can but you were still blessed How many people can say they hit the lottery once for millions of dollars?? HUH??
Oden was a far better prospect than Bowie. Oden healthy would have been a better player than Durant. KD loses with mvp talent around him. Oden was owning Horford and Noah in college. Two great players. Oden was a monster
I wouldn’t call any of them a bust because here we are sitting on social media commenting on something we haven’t been afforded the opportunity to do. Couch critics! Bowie was actually really good. Lots of extremely talented players suffer career ending injuries. The bust are the ones who’ve never been in the league but think they know what’s best. LMAO
He was a very good player till after sophomore year in college. After that he just had a disease in his bones where he just couldn't keep his bones strong. But he is getting all this hipe cuz of Jordan, without him Sam would just be a tiny dote on nba history, plus he lied to get in the NBA. he knew he couldn't play so know he has to face the problems but he did get 5 million dollars.
@Gillani G I know my NBA history Sports history. So I don't have to be all of that, but what was the connection with Clyde Drexler when he didn't even get Akeem Olajuwon that's what I'm saying if the connection was that strong then Clyde Drexler with a did what he had to do to get Hakeem Olajuwon with the number one pick makes sense so where's the idiot at
I feel bad for Bowie, he shouldn't get the ridicule. He isn't a bust bc he still averaged double digits in scoring which is ok.
He lied to get ahead of Jordan

Hell yeah you could play, Sam. I loved watching you at Kentucky.

Just another chapter in the book we call life.
1984 NBA Draft:
1. Hakeem Olajuwon
2. Sam Bowie
3. Michael Jordan
sadly sam bowie is worst busts of NBA History only Hakeem Olajuwon & Micheal Jordan was NBA Best Sam Bowie should have retired in few seasons in the NBA 1984-1995
@@hateUmankind at least he has 5500 career points. 5500 more than you will ever get.

That's pretty cool that him and Mike are friends.
Similar story with Greg Oden and KD situation

NightHawk12to81 i think watching him pracice and showing his alent you would reconsider just saying .
I would have traded after a couple of years and started over. You can't stop greatness because he gets drafted into the wrong team.

Jordan would have benched whoever was starting even Clyde Drexler.
I feel bad for him I live about 10 minutes away from his hometown and we live in seberbs no city so this was amazing my grandpa was friends with him
aidan habecker i live in the same city he was born in lol my uncle went to school with him :D
u should pay him a visit
Sam Bowie.....Seen him 2 weeks ago. such a friendly guy
Still a class act

he sounds like the king from cars
Sam Bowie could have been one of the greats if not for injuries
KD and Oden story from fb. Anyone?
Totally agree with Sam.
Can't judge the Jordan-Portland decision based on his Chicago career. We don't know what types of teams Jordan would have had in Portland.
Defender of the Alamo and a pro NBA basketball player ranked higher than Michael J.,the man has done it all.
Oden was a far better prospect than Bowie. Oden healthy would have been a better player than Durant. KD loses with mvp talent around him. Oden was owning Horford and Noah in college. Two great players. Oden was a monster
Very sad to blazers that they pick a top draft bust 3x LaRue Martin, Sam Bowie & Greg Oden

He did it to himself
LoL
Clyde Drexler and his contract is the reason Jordan didn’t go #1.
wat do u mean by that..?
