You should see the old Bathurst races between these and the R32 Skylines on super100+ on here. Epic battles. Back when racing was a mans sport, for men!
@MotorAddicts 550hp, MANual, RWD, no traction/stability control, turbo that's either all off or all on, flat out come rain or shine! Awesome. They even used to give in-race interviews to commentators while nailing it down conrod straight at 180mph. They probably would have smoked a tab (Camel - unfiltered) at the same time, too, if they could! Check out the vids next time you're on the shizzer - bathurst super 100+
I miss my MG Maestro Turbo !! Back in the day it was like a battle with the Cosworths . I was a ford man but the Maestro Turbo was next level when I drove it 🤷🏻♂️
@Carl-jz2zc Exactly and they all rotted the same I hate that excuse . 8v against 16v . Fuel injection against carb . Magical and memorable times. 14!!! I take it you had the owners permission 😏
Most my m8s were going to the roller disco on the weekend, I was driving all over Lincolnshire or down the river bank on my cub 90 hahaha 😂 miss those days
Love the cossies..Had a diamond white 2wd which I rebuilt back in 2014 running a mild 360-380 and that pulled so hard in 3rd....can't imagine what these racecars feel like when they come on. Great video
There's just something about a fast Ford, and always will be. I've always loved the shape of the 3dr Sierra regardless of the model but of course the Cosworth models are so much more. Love everything about this one. Hats off to the owner. What was his name again? Seeing this in the race livery takes me back to my younger days, watching these mega Ford race cars doing their stuff so well, week in, week out. I also still can't get over the fact that the hallowed ground of Manston airport is being put to such great use. Thanks for making the videos chaps. Wicked 👏🏼
Saw the original one of these with Tony Longhurst in our local Ford dealership years ago. If memory serves it was the year he won Bathurst in the same vehicle.
Dude i love that castrol sticker on the headlight. You never see that! I run headlight covers on my sn95 street/drift car when the sun is up. I have a couple Garrett die cuts i gnna throw on literally right now. Thanks for the idea bruv!!!!!
I'm thinking u need a plane at the weekend aswell, just for comparison! I'm watching Jeremy zip down the runway, the view out his side window looks familiar. 160mph 👍 arr that's where I've seen that view before, out of an airline window 😮😮😂 a 737 and a 757 take off at that speed - that's MAD🤯🛫🏎🏁
The owners thought of getting 200mph if it has the gearing is interesting. It might get there eventually, but to do it on a runway would need a lot more power. Not knocking the car, its amazing!
By early 90s, Australian Group A Sierra's were hitting 180mph on Conrod straight at Mt Panorama, which is a mile long (including a kink). 200 with right gearing on a runway is possible i reckon
@@Hapkido82AUS back in the day somebody tried this in a Sierra and it took just over 800bhp to do it, getting from 180 to 200 takes a lot more than you think. That car still lives on today, would be great to see it on the channel
Not the best content imo seeing this in the hands of yourself would of been good 🤣🤣💯💯 needed to be revved right out wasn't getting the full hammering , great car though 🙂 love a cosworth
It's a weird thing, runways lose that sense of speed compared to going down a motorway with traffic, trees and countryside moving past. There's nothing for the brain to relate to it speed wise when you know it's well over a ton and then some
Keep the cossies coming 😊

What's the dubby tune at the beginning of the video walk around? And the car is bleddy beautiful too!

what a car... that's raw all purpose
So lucky to witness this car in person
Universal credit music at the end

The guy sitting in the passager seat his face is related to Tim Roth the English actor every time he is grinning like a mad man possessed 😅😅😅😅😅
I do love a 3 door especially a RS500 but a race spec RS500 different level 😍

Just bloody wonderful

Cosworth allday everyday baby
Certain I saw this being trailered on M25 near Dartford crossing back in February
Nice race car
Pissed I missed the Flying Quarter
Anyone else rate the videos purely on the faces that Owen pulls whilst in the passenger seat? 😆
Absolutely
He’s a girl in the passenger seat 😂
And 40 years later Ford can’t make any better and people say we have evolved we have stood still
Totally agree with this
Jelly mould 👌🏼
Sounds awesome can’t beat a cosworth
You guys should be the next Top Gear, i miss those guys though...
I'll be there guys 💯
See ya there
That is some car. They came out of the factory as 4x4 I’m sure? Lightness is the reason it does not grip as it should.
the traditional 3 door cosworths were never 4x4. But it did come later in the last of the sapphire cosworths.
