मुझे भी ये बात महसूस हुयी जो आपने उठाई है। ये हमारी इंटेलीजेंस और जुड़ी हुयी एजेंसीज का failure बता रहा है। ये साले तब पैदा भी नही हुए होंगे जो इन्हे पता होता कि LOC कि ऊँची पोस्ट्स से दोनो तरफ की आर्मी के बीच ट्रीटी sign हुयी थी की अपनी अपनी पोस्ट्स खाली कर के बेस पर लौट जायेंगे बर्फ बारी और avalanche के चलते। 6 महीने तक रास्ते बंद हो जाते थे।

An interesting fact the Kargil war was fought from Drass to Turtuk in Ladakh. The total battle area was streched almost 100 km. The indian army came to know of the presence of the Pakistani when a Buddhist from Dha village informed them. In the rest of the inhabitants were busy supplying the intruders with supplies like maggi etc.

5353 was never under Indian control. LoC runs over that feature. While Pakistan did make some posts on it, India did not dislodge them but occupied 5340 and 2 other peaks so 5353 is surrounded on three sides by India
