    Am not a huge Jim Lee fan, but as a comic art instructor, he's truly one of the Best!
    He teaches at the level of a working comic artist. Everything he shares is super-practical advice.

    How come the actual drawing only takes up a fraction of the screen? Isn't that what the entire presentation is suppose to be about?

  • @PatrickArch
    @PatrickArch 8 років тому +14

    This is what I love about Jim Lee; he really wants people to get better, he EXPLAINS why and how he does the things he does (and that makes a world of a difference)!
    It's a shame though, that we can barely see the drawing; there's so much unused space in the shot of SDCC that could be filled by making the drawing bigger

    This is an opportunity for DC Comics to advertise some of their top talents in the business. If these videos keep coming (either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly), and possibly launch a UA-cam! channel, we might end up having a Subscription-type channel.

  • @SamusLovesMilk

    Wow, the nerds drooling over his table must've been so annoying. Anyway, that's not the focus of the video. I love how well he's explaining what he's doing.

    • @SamusLovesMilk
      @SamusLovesMilk 7 років тому +6

      Also, I wanna add that I'm not degrading nerds. Everyone is one in their own way. It's just a way I like to express myself. Also, I call myself nerd a lot.

    Watching him just seemingly plop lines down on a page and it look amazing.... I am both jealous and inspired. This video is artistic efficiency in action. I'm trying to get back into my illustration type work after 5 years and It's been a hard few months of relearning stuff and finding my style again but hopefully this time I can put more thought into my practice instead of just using my sketchbook as a place to put brain vomit...and not learn anything to make the process not take forever and a day because one does not have that kind of time when you need to put food on the table.

    I love watching Jim draw but the drawing is too small in the video to really appreciate the detail of what hes doing. Also would be nice if they could of given him a blank page (without the boarders) to work on for a public demonstration such as this.
    Anyway, still great to watch. Jim is an amazing artist and I love his style !
    Thanks :)

    Its nice to see you can actually do drawings of characters , without being treated like the comic character by people which actually do physically harm to you. Then, put you through some type of messed up experience like scar you for the character you draw. In the state I'm in they actual do that , so basically I stopped drawing characters or doing drawings in a whole people thought people actually wanted to be that actor or character so they put them through bunch of ridiculous stuff for long periods of time . This has gone on for over 5years plus now .
