- I'm guessing this is a 1950's or possibly 1960's tool. It's certainly seen it's share of abuse and neglect but I think it deserves a restoration. Let's get busy! #milwaukeetools #toolrestoration #vintagetools #milwaukee #impactgun #toolrepair #tools #powertoolsrepairing #powertool #howto
Ive never seen one before either. Nice job.
Thanks! Yes, who knew these have been around for so long?
Nice job. I had an Impact drill that was made by Ingersoll. Very powerful. I had no use for it so I ended up selling it. The guy who bought it, ended up sending me a video of it being used in his garage, which I’m super happy about.
Nice video. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! I've repaired some old tools for people I know and, I agree. It's great to see them back at work.
I did not realize electric impact guns had been around so long. At least this is an American Milwaukee.
Until I saw this one I had no idea either. Very cool design for changing directions.
Awesome!
Thanks! This is one of my favorites.
I have 2 blk n decor grinders look like this.dug out of dumpster.trigers were stuck.WD 40 and off they went.still work n
Nice! Sometimes that's all it takes. I usually need to replace the power cords at the very least but every now and then they're already set to go.
@floridarusticrepairs now that u say that 1 of them did spark when I plugged it in but I just pushed wires in a bit and it stopped.not good idea but hay
Does it have an impact function? Maybe being in Florida it was used on a NASCAR team for pit stops!
It does have the impact function. I wanted to give the paint more time to settle before putting it to use but I'll show it running in a future video. I'd love to know the history of this. I bet it worked on some amazing cars in it's day.
grounded outlets did not become code till1962. on new house's, so why would a 1950's tool be grounded?
Yes. It's kind of murky. Three prong became code on new construction in 1947 but that didn't mean it was implemented immediately. Three-prong was required for kitchens and laundry and basements first in 1959. Retrofitting became common in the 1960's but even then it wasn't until the 1970's that the two prong outlets really disappeared. My parent's house was built in 1964 and had three prong outlets. A commercial garage or manufacturing plant likely had grounded outlets in the 1950's. I would bet this was not originally a homeowner tool.
5:34 does that mean its wireless now?
It's time as a cordless tool was brief. :)
Safety Glasses! Even though you have a Safety shield you should still wear safety glasses. Things can ricochet off other objects. I know. It's no fun to have to go to the eye doctor to have them take a metal shaving out of your eye. Safety Glasses!
i will take that advice to heart.
This one is from 1982
Thanks for the info! How can you ID the date on these? I usually have to guess if I can't find it in an old catalog.
ABUSED BY ANTHONY FREITAG FROM LOVELAND COLORADO FOR YEARS!!!!
Possibly several others over the years too. :)
