This is absolutely brilliant. Deceptively simple yet so much detail going on and it gels together so well. You're a genius! My favourite example of these units by far. 💥
Bought a td 3 mo currently only have the 1 running into ableton. Is it worth having a second td 3 and what's the box you have running into the machines. Great sound too top stuff
Dude, this is absolutely awesome! So freakin’ catchy and quite inspirational. This particular video sealed the deal for me to obtain both the RD-6 & TD-3. Found both of them used on Craigslist and so far, they really are a blast! Bravo! Im diggin’ it so much! Thank you for making this video, inspiring others, and creating such great music.
That 'slight' distortion makes it sound much more like the real 606 on the hats now..all the other online demos sounded too clean and light..just bought one because of this so thanks!
Love it! I have a Black TD3, and Acid Yellow TD3 with an Acid Yellow RD6. Still leaning them. I will probably pair up my RD8 too! Thanks for the inspiration!
Love this. Inspired! As a live gigging musician I’ve been going crazy. TD-3 arrived a couple of days ago and an RD-6 should arrive today. Looks like I need more kit. Don’t understand the fussy hihat comments. All great
I'm a live sound engineer and likewise I'm going crazy too! Just ordered a TD-3 and I suspect an RD-6 might arrive next month as well! I need noisy toys!
Thanks for the channel it's really fun. How do you manage to create melodies in td 3? I was researching about it and I can't find any information about it. You can only scale 1up right? regards
Thanks! What a coincidence, my next video will show how I am writing a melodic baseline on the TD-3, will publish next week. And yes, transposition is limited to one octave higher.
@@funkyberlin303 Glad to hear that! I will be very grateful to learn from you how to create hot bass lines and mental melodies. I am attentive to your next news !! Thanks :)
Are your TD-3s stock or have you modded them? the yellow one seems to have a really nice slew/portamento on the filter at times. or maybe you're just a wiz at programing ties and slides...
The SBX-1 has 2 Midi Sync outs and 2 Din Sync outs. In this case I synced the RD-6 and the yellow TD by using these 2 Midi outs and chained it from the yellow TD to the blue one, connecting their Midi out/thru and in.
@@funkyberlin303 No that's not what I meant... one of the TD-3's seems to be playing at half tempo. That's what a clock divider does. I know all about chaining MIDI gear an syncing them at the same clock rate.
Oh I see. No, the pattern was programmed like that. But if you sync them by clock, you can change between 24 and 48 ppq and, as I just discovered, 2 ppq on the TD or the RD. The Sync Box sends either 24 or 48 ppq.
@@jasonmoyer nope, you can google it though. Next you’ll be defending behringer for ripping off the key step... behringer is cheap crap, they’re products have always been knockoffs of a someone else’s hard work. Always
@@Smegma_pirate I won't defend them for making cheap chinese knockoffs of stuff that has official reissues (Minimoog, Odyssey, Crave=Mother-32, Swing, etc), but when it comes to Roland I have no sympathy. People have been asking them to revisit their classics for decades and they keep putting out softsynths in boxes.
Roland had decades to recoup their costs. They've made it clear for many years that they're not interested in making the TB-303 again. They would rather make the clumsy Aira TB-3 or the "boutique" TB-03 software-in-a-box. If you want to support Roland, then your best bet is to sign up for their Cloud subscription service for VSTs. Behringer isn't the only x0x clone maker, they are rather late to the game as there are about a dozen small companies doing it. I recently bought a TR-78 clone with x0x style sequencing from Cyclone Analogic, it's great and analog and not something Roland would ever think of doing. As an instrument I think there is a need for more than one box like the original TB-303. It's sort of like arguing that because Stradivarius created many of the modern innovation in violin building that his family should be the only one who can build violins. There is always a need for an instrument with a particular voice and we can't count on one builder to supply the whole world for all time. P.S. the clap in the Behringer RD-6 is better than a real Roland TR-808. It's a copy of the clap circuit of an old Boss DR-110. Most of these circuits are ancient history and fallen out of patent and can't normally be copyrighted. (part of the reason manufacturers prefer making digital stuff is they can block people from cloning it)
The TD-3 really sounds sublime through that reverb. Sweet jam.

Appreciating the funk in 2021....now where's my RD-9 ?? :)
Pretty cool seeing two TD-3's playing together
Wonderful groove that you can listen to forever.

A tip: you can watch series on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Johnathan Ronnie Yea, been using flixzone for since november myself =)
Love the color coded MIDI cables! (Oh yeah jam's pretty good too.)
This track sells units. So good!
Great to see you guys like it, thanks for letting me know by leaving your comment, means a lot to me! Stay tuned ;-)
Really enjoyed that thanks, I like the sound of these little boxes, nice & punchy, plus sweet little sequence you've got there
So simple yet so nice... great job!
Very nice and clear 303 Sounds .👍

So we don’t all need $1000 drum machines?
Cool tune. The TD3s combo seems to do pretty cool double bass type line things...
This is very dope! I like it! Can’t wait to get a RD-6! Keep up the good work! 😎
Still one of my favourite RD-6 + TD-3 jams
Thank you for your kind words, love to hear that! Cheers
Best I’ve heard in a long time. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I played it a couple of times in a row as well

Are the two TD3s playing the same pattern, and you are individually tweeking both? Sick jam btw!
Thanks! No, the blue TD-3 plays the bass and the yellow one the melody.
so fun:)
das haltisch nett aus!
😮
Why not use sync cables? So much less mess!
Sounds realy oldschool!!
Does the TD-3 do audio through USB? In other news, these things are ridiculous--I'm looking at one right now that's $110. Brand new!
No, all machines are fed into the mixer. The USB port is for MIDI and OS updates only.

Cool. I have the black one, haven't synced it Ableton yet.
Noice! Whatcha using to drive the midi? Just got an akai force and having tons of fun myself.
