He's talking about our little town of Philadelphia Mississippi. I could walk around the corner of my apartment and see the pawn shop that he's talking about where he bought his first guitar. There's also Hardy's tire shop just before you get to Walmart. We're all proud of him. I believe this song should win a Grammy for song of the year. @HARDYmusic

I could not agree with you more, way back with "All She Left Was Me" & "Signed Sober You" I knew I found what I had been looking for in a modern era singer/songwriter. I have been luck enough to see him twice and I can figure out a weekend trip up to Augusta GA to see his next Tour.

I've been following HARDY for probably about 5 years. I don't know how he's not the most known country/rock singer in the country. It really blows my mind. He is so incredibly talented.
I really believe he's talking more about the music industry. He's the mocking bird and the crow because he's an independent artist and he brings his own artistic values to music. No more "kissing the ring". He's breaking the mold and telling them off. He's doing his own thing, not conforming to industry standards, and millions of people are wearing his face on their T-shirts. He's a huge success with his own amazing abilities.
He’s not independent he has a label, big loud. They’re better than a lot of labels out there though

Lowercase are country songs and uppercase is rock songs, it’s a half country half rock album
I noticed that. All of his songs he's done in the past have all been uppercase. I first noticed the lowercase when he put out wait in the truck
And I saw most of the rock side was co produced by Jeremy McKinnon of adtr and Andrew wade. Jeremy is also feat on track 15
Plus there is the two face lookin Hardy where if he’s on the zombie left side it’s rock but the normal Hardy on the right is country. I love this song today because the transition kills me every time

Hardy is not only an out of this world songwriter, he literally puts on one of the best live shows you will ever see! Not to mention his band, they are freaking awesome. Never heard anybody seamlessly mesh country and metal this effectively before.
PLEASE do his song Give Heaven Some Hell. The way he intro's it at his shows gives me chills every time. Such a great song.

The first verse was about him becoming a song writer, then when he says now I’m a mocking bird with a microphone was him starting to perform and probably his first 2 albums, then when he’s like fuck you now that’s him being the crow. His story telling is so unbelievable

Hardy is one of, if not my favorite country artist out there. Out of all his songs, this is undoubtedly my favorite! Just saw him open for Morgan Wallen and will 100% going to be seeing him in Green Bay when he’s on his own tour
Hardy is actually signed by Big Loud Rock. Big Loud is trying to reach more audience in rock and can do so with Hardy’s music. With Morgan, Ernest, and Hardy they have the potential to reach all different genres. Each artist can bring more attention to other the way streaming is set up. The sky is the limit with these three and from a business standpoint it’s a genius approach. Awesome work by Hardy can’t wait to hear the album.

If you look at song list on his new album, which comes out tomorrow on 1/20, the first half is country, in lower case. This song is in the middle and transitions into the last half, which is rock and in all caps. Can't wait. Saw him in concert opening for Morgan Wallen for $16 at the county fair several years back, so glad he's gaining the traction and recognition he deserves. Most talented song writer in the more mainstream hemisphere of country music.

@@skylermummert24 sheesh. They came to our local fair right before wallen blew up so big, when everyone was still obsessed with Luke Combs. I also went to see them at a 2 day show in Rome, GA with Riley green and Ashland craft in 2020 for just $100 I think. But Morgan wallen got replaced by Lee Brice because he had got in trouble the week before for breaking Covid protocol making out with sorority girls in Alabama bars lmao. 2nd day with Ashland craft and Riley green got canceled because tornado warning. So mostly a disaster but I got to see Hardy play in the pouring rain the first night and that was awesome.

I loved Hardy’s songs, even the ones he wrote for others. Some of them are my favorites. But hearing this side of him has skyrocketed him to my favorite artist right now. I’m a country girl but I’m a rocker at heart and this sang straight to my soul and got me pumping my fist and stomping my feet. It’s almost like a battle cry

I can’t wait for January I think the first half of his album is gonna be the country vibes cause it’s all lower case titles and then the second half is gonna be this rock vibe cause it’s all uppercase titles. Hardy is a genius songwriter and performer. He really is making his own path within country music. If other country artists can have that stupid rap in it he can have rock in his country music.

This is my first time hearing this song, I absolutely love it, love Wait In The Truck big time. I just turned 67 and grew up during Motown, Rock n Roll, the music was great during those days, but I feel we are getting into another great music era Tom McDonald, Dirty Money and America, Creed Fisher, If You Have A Right To Burn My Flag, and This Place Called USA; Struggle Jennings, God We Need You Now, can’t; more independent artist are coming out and the music is awesome.

You were the ONLY one that noticed that in the final chorus he said he was the mockingbird AND he was the the crow. He needs both those things in his life to be fulfilled. Nobody else caught that. You can hear the guitar tone and vocal sound influence of Puddle of Mud (that he also did a cover of Blurry a while back) but I also hear some guitar riffs that remind me of breaking Benjamin in the chorus during the second half

It's 10/16, late at night, and you still reign as the best review BY FAR of this song. You grabbed all the nuances early... except maybe one. And no one else so far has noticed this either; At the end of the "mockingbird" part, he repeats "'...With a microphone" a few times. Notice the change inflection. He's realizing that he's got the mic, and then breaks out in "the Crow" part of the song. Really well done, man. I've watched your reaction almost as much as I have the real song. And you're right. It's complete genius.

I love the meaning behind his songs recently. He also released a song called “here lies country music” basically putting his country music to rest. But at least there will be some country in his new album. His rock music is amazing too.

Didn't think I'd watch someone that gets that last line but you nailed it perfectly. Hardy obviously wants to go down his own path without having a big company on his back dictating what songs he should do. But, at the same time he enjoys writing songs and if those songs happen to be country then so be it, doesn't mean he wants to perform country.
