That's 100% correct. It has awesome story, fun gameplay, beautiful graphics and music, it's a very underated masterpiece.
i think that this story is way better than the second game. It contains more heart and compassion, plot twists , and interesting antagonist. Plus, the collaboration of studio Ghibli. If the battle style of this game is same as the second one, it could have been GOTY. (in my opinion).

I played the first Ni No Kuni when it was 2013 and it was way better than the second Ni No Kuni

The one and only bad thing about this guy, is that he turned good at the end.
I think that wouldn't have been so bad... if the White Witch hadn't done the same. One sympathetic villain with a face turn can be good... two is bad.

@@endersdragon34 You could blame Level-5 for that. The added parts had nothing to do with Ghibli. Everything related to the White witch is an addon.

this shit just hits on a different level one part of the first game is so much better then the entire story of the second game the story wasn't bad but man the first is just a masterpiece they should've tried harder on the story instead of the little tactics battles and even some of the kingdom building games like nino Kuni need god tier stories
He severed their soul bond, so only he would die. It seems there was still some good in Shadar/Lucien. At least he died with a smile on his face when he realized that he really did save somebody.
I love this darn game!!! You don’t get games like this anymore! Even Ni No Kuni 2 didn’t do this masterpiece Justice.

I love every inch of Wrath of the White Witch's heart and soul. The amount of times this game has made me shed tears due to the beautiful yet solemn flashbacks of Oliver with his mum is simply remarkable.
In the ds game it's revealed that shadar/Jabo/ Lucien ( Jabo un the de ds versión) he wanted yo atole the fragmentos of the people hearts so that they would get so sad AND empty they we're not gonna have any Energy or spirit yo start a war. Basically he wanted to sabe tje World by stealing their emotions.

Shadar is just...one of those "villains" that I love. Amazing backstory, voice-acting, and story integration. He's constantly a massive threat, and he feels unstoppable and incredibly powerful. You really don't see such a well-designed villain very often, and that's why I love him so much as a villain. Not to mention his fight is amazing too, in every way.

I like that the dream segments consists of younger versions of the characters even they talk about what s going to happen and what oliver must do.
I just finished this part of the game and came straight here to watch it again.
Such a great moment in an amazing game
Its truly a masterpiece. A shame they fucking busted it with the second game with a clash of clan system.
I had a theory that Shadar was Oliver’s soulmate. It turned out to be true.

the story is very dumb if you think more into it, why did shadar admit to become a djin if he cares about the world, and if he hates the guards, why punish what you know are good people, makes no sense, pea is even more of a dumb villain, she hated the world cuz she felt it abandond her and said i'll clean it, why did she wait until oliver became strong enough to beat her... my brain hurts trying to understand this trash of a baby plot

Lucien gave up on the world and let darkness influence him. But deep down he buried the fact he still cared. That care was shrouded in hate and despair.
Cassiopea gave into despair as well and wanted to rewrite the world into something better.
Also, she didn't' think of Oliver as a major threat until it was too late. And she did try several times to kill him, and failed. Honestly if she hadn't killed his mom he probably wouldn't have gone on his quest in the first place.
It seems that the only one who isn't thinking things through here is you. Either because you can't or don't want to.
This story is par for a lot of RPG plots. Simple but effective. Whimsical and fairy tale like, with fun characters and interesting twists. Could the story have been better written to be the best story ever told in a game? Sure, but the same could be said for a lot of games. Ni No Kuni is amazing for what it is, flaws and all, and many people love it.
And, instead of insulting the game senselessly -- offer constructive criticism for how it could have been done better. That sort of practice will keep you from sounding like a whiny hater.
The game is 9/10 for me because of the gameplay, but there is no excuse for why xiopea waited so long, lazy writing, and an example of an amazing written story that I'm comparing too is actually also made by level 5 called dragon Quest 8, when u have such a great grown up story this game feels like a plot for baby's I'm sorry, if u liked the game in very happy, but in honesty the plot is very poor and bad compared to other games
@@zachanikwano plus the characters are written badly, there is absolutely nothing special or interesting about the main team, the blonde is very typical oh I'm a good person, Shane is annoying tbh and Oliver is a typical main hero, nothing special unlike dragon Quest 8 characters

Both 1&2 have flaws and I agree that characters could be better written especially Ni No Kuni 2. I do enjoy for what they are instead of bashing them like the other guy said offer constructive criticism instead whining like child. If I do same thing to DQ8 you wouldn't like don't you?
