I think the reason why these companies jump on Devastator is because he's the only combiner in the movie. So there's more appeal to the casual collector.
Thankyou for the hard work on these vids, I feel your love of the figures when you review them and discussions and perspectives around the condrums we all face while collecting. Its really hard to know which route to go sometimes.
I am new to MP collecting and am mainly doing Fanstoys so they scale well and honestly, I am a bit of a weirdo in that I don't plan to combine any of mine as I love the individual robots. I have been tempted to just get Zeta for combined modes only, but I'll have to get one in hand to see for sure. Great conversation.
We have TFNation (aka TFN) in the UK which is Europes biggest TF convention, we also have TFUKCON which is more intimate. Plus others like Roll Out Roll Call. Haven't been to the US ones yet. But I'd like to see one.
@@ArrowFyre Ive been to different type of comic cons and anime cons but nothing dedicated to just toys. I live in Altanta so we don't have any Transformer Cons around. I'd like to check out TFCon at some point in Baltimore.
I think MMC will be the best in terms of playability. I also think they nail the toon look as well. That said I've only ever owned one mmc figure and that's sphinx. In my own opinion their figures don't match my collection. If I had money for 2 sets of devy I'd get mmc. As it stands Fanstoys will be my go to set (I already own the first boxset of toyworld).
I think hands down the MMC will be the best. No one can touch MMC when it comes to the engineering and how intuitive the transformation feels. The all in one USP has been implemented so well on the combaticons and what we have of the protectobots. They will look incredibly toon accurate as well. The only thing that will go against it is scale.
@@ArrowFyre it all depends on what you collector I guess. Scale for me isn't that much of a concern but I completely get why people love a scaled collection. It's been a happy accident that since the WFC line gave us that soft reboot they scaled things well.
I think MMC is the only set that doesn't really count as masterpiece due to lack of paint and the scale of the bots and sacrifice for combined mode (I dont like the devastator proportions on MMC). XTB doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies for more combiners. I have their monolith and still waiting for the rest of defensor (deadend figure is a hot mess of broken parts doors, windows, hips and the paint on all the diecast flaking off, plus no parts or reissues for years). Fuzz and jocund also have paint issues as well as QC issues. Xtb is a set on the shelf and dont touch it kind of figures. Fanstoys just feel better (although not perfect) and have yet to finish a combiner.

Thanks for checking it out, I can highly recommend the Zeta combiners, particularly metallic paint Bruticus.
Great video chaps. Thanks for the insight. The future's green!
Large and greeeeeen!
Does the UK host Transformer Cons? If not, have you been to any of the ones in the States?

Mmc is the 1 I'm in on I like the all in one idea

Yeah and I have a feeling that scale card could be it's undoing in 4-5 years or so

Lack of paint and sacrifice on proportions as well as strikes against.
