I'm loving seeing Robert so comfortable and seeming to enjoy recent interviews. He's turned into a great interviewee. Tim just sort of prods Rob on a topic and off he goes. It's great! I really hope Rick Beato somehow snags an interview at some point.
I love how Robert constantly self-reflects on what he's saying, but not in a "I'm managing my image/PR" kind of way, but because he expects that whoever's he's talking to will call him out for bullshitting! Very unusual for somebody who's spent decades in the limelight to be so grounded.
I absolutely love the new album. ❤ I'm almost 50 years old now and I have been a fan of the band since my early teens, and it makes me so glad to see The Cure publishing a new album again, and still more to come. I love how the band has changed and grown as the members themselves change along the years (we all change, though in some way stay the same). The new songs are beautiful. They are full of depth, with the unavoidable issue of death (it comes to us all). I'm so sorry Robert lost his brother and parents. 😢 "I Can Never Say Goodbye" is so sad and beautiful. Wonderful album. Hopefully the band will come once again to Finland in the future.
As a fan of the older Cure Albums anything after Wish I have not gravitated too. This Album is fantastic. I really am enjoying this and listening to it often.
I love that a band as seasoned as the cure are still having funny issues like a guitar strap slipping which you’d think would happen to a band just starting out. They are so good live.love them.
Gen X and I have never listened to a full Cure record before. This record is a masterpiece. It made me a fan. It I personally feel it is heads above their other work. A real gem of a record.
As a fellow Gen X who was a bit too young to appreciate the Cure, I agree that this album is a masterpiece. They won me over to the point where I need to listen to their catalog with fresh ears.
- " Alone. First track; the first one that everyone heard. Do you think it's catchy?" - "It'd be low down on the list of adjectives, if I was describing the song to someone." 😆😆😆😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
No band has managed to release an album this good after 45 years. This is already my favorite The Cure album and I like them all. And the show at Troxy is one of the best shows I've ever seen. Thank you, The Cure.
Hey I would stick with Tim here : Drone/No Drone => Screw. Robert is incredibly structured. I love that new record, I love the way we discovered it, night after night, month after month. And it will become a part of me throurg Integration. Love to all of you.
he's a good lad even after all these years... .rent-a-gob liam should watch this and take some lessons... Bob, ya up for some DnB , send a message ? dare ya
Yep, I think Robert's dad was right. Unfortunately, I think our(I am Gen X) kids are gonna have to go through some catastrophic times, comparable to the first half of the 20th century, if not worse.
They are talking about the studio rooms at Rockfield recording studio, and Tim asks whether they booked the "Coach house" room, or the "Quadrangle". Smith then said "We booked it all" 😊 They are studios, but also accommodation.
Some people choose to accept their age. Coloring your hair is so fake. It's like not being to accept reality. Plus, on older people it looks ridiculous. It fools no one.
Not a fan, never will be, and confused why he is still dressing up like that. At some point don't you just grow up / develope / change? I don't dress like I did in the 90's lol But I get why some people do like the cure, they aren't terrible, just not my cup of tea.
The Cure is more than a band. It's more of a lifestyle/movement. I wouldn't call them "Goth", but there is a hint of that. Robert's look is an escape from every day normality.
Why do people feel it is neccessary to voice their opinions on everything. If you don't like him or his band, move on, don't watch. He's an artist. It's his choice to look how he wants to look. I'm sure that there are people who don't find you interesting or worth knowing. Relax, enjoy your life. Live and let live.
@gustavogonzalez8303 why do people find it necessary to complain about other People's opinions. I can comment on anything I want, it's called freedom of speech. Don't like it, don't read it and don't comment.
Robert Smith has been such an enigma for so many years, it’s amazing to see in these recent interviews how normal and open he is.
The only album that I've literally cried with joy upon hearing and also shed tears of yearning , loss and nostalgia.
It’s so refreshing to listen to someone who is real and not fake like many artists of today. Robert Smith is truly a legend ❤
The Cure have been with the gen x from when we were teenager and still going. Not many 80s bands can claim that these days.
A 70s band!
Loved listening to this, could listen to robert smith talk all day long, such an interesting person

Robert Smith has a uniqueness that simply grows on you, he's amazing.

Great interview, Robert is so chilled 👍🏻

I love how brutally honest he is
Robert you dont have to regret anything you gave wonderful songs to this lost world
Robert Smith and Tim Burgess absolutely brilliant 💯
As a fan of the older Cure Albums anything after Wish I have not gravitated too. This Album is fantastic. I really am enjoying this and listening to it often.
Great Interview . Robert Is Clearly enjoying this too .
Absolute fantastic! Thanks
This is such a great interview and appreciate the video!

Love the new album, epic! Pure mastery, the Cure keep getting better and better ❤
Songs of a Lost World is the best album of 2024 imho.
Great interview. Tim, absolutely splendid job!
Love Robert Smith. Love his soul!
Great album - worth the wait

Brilliant, such a great insight into a creative's world.
❤❤❤
I can’t wait until they tour this album. It was great hearing some of the new songs on the last tour.
The album is incredible.

No wonder Kiss Me was so good and long! Is that the studio where Rain Tree Crow was made?
Robert mentioning Nick Drake. ❤ Absolute Radio, play some Nick Drake 😊 ... and tons more Hendrix 🎸
Yes. The album really is that good, Bob.
moved me totally!
what can i say
love you
beyond everything
When Tim said he listened to it in Iceland, I thought he meant the Frozen Food Supermarket here in the UK. Brits will get the joke.
he's a good lad even after all these years... .rent-a-gob liam should watch this and take some lessons... Bob, ya up for some DnB , send a message ? dare ya
🖤ty 4 sharing
Y'gotta love the new album ...
🖤🖤🖤
Good interview with Robert & Tim looks better without that all blonde hair

J’aimerais avoir les sous-titres:(
Germaine Greer's started on the Christmas food early! 🎄
what do they say on 3:16? non native english here and there's no transcript :(

I thought it was that brilliant potty mouthed grandma Miriam Margolyes
For me "Songs of a lost World", is the album of 2024. What a come back!
What is wrong with him?
Nothing sadder than an old goth. He looks like my granny.
As true as that may be, leave the dude alone.
there's one thing sadder maybe you can guess
@@video2000_TV 2 old goths ?
Hasn't he heard of hair dye?

He’s too busy making amazing music ❤
Probably doesn't care
@@PROGROCK-tr9hw It was a joke. You know he's been using black hair dye for years?
@@cinemar what was the actual joke about it

@Voiceguy66 yeah, been there when I was a teen, a little past that lol

He is iconic…all you need to see is a silhouette of his hair and you know who it is. That is infamous and an icon in the music industry.
for the record, I love "All I Ever Am" my personal 2nd favorite off of the album! 🤍
🖤🫂the cure are precious like air
I thought it was Pat Butcher to start with
