    Exactly why i LOVE the Celtics. Humility, love and dedication to the francise, the ego's of each individual player is Nothing like the heat's and i respect that tremendously. I'll always be a Celtic...its the Celtic way!

    That is the difference between these teams.

    I think the Moral of the Story is Always have Ray Allen on your team. Even when he retires just let him sit at the edge of the bench with the jersey on! It will +100 boost all 3 pointers.

    The Celtics's 3 are so humble by comparison. The difference is incredible.

    In their prime I would take Boston's big three. KG in his prime is unquestionably the greatest power forward and defensive force of all time. Ray allen is undoubtedly the greatest shooter of all time, and Paul Pierce has ice water in his veins. The dude is clutch.

    • @mrarjunfullpackage
      @mrarjunfullpackage 9 років тому +7

      I mean that Kevin Garnett is undoubtedly the best two way power forward of all time. Don't tell me Karl Malone or Tim Duncan is better because both had hall of fame like players and hall of fame coaches the minute they stepped on the court. Kevin Garnett's intensity on the court is unparalleled to any player. If I were to choose a power forward from their prime for a season or a series or a single game, there is no question KG is the best option. There is no question Tim Duncan's longevity has added to his argument of the best pf but his defensive skill set and athleticism is nowhere near that of Kevin Garnett. I'm not talking about long term success, I'm talking about taking a PF in their prime for small stretch of time.

    • @justinpelkey6722
      @justinpelkey6722 9 років тому

      Arjun Ramachandran Well you started off broad and got ver specific really quick to defend yourself so this argument would be a comolete waste of my time but good trolling technique.

    As an LA fan, I hated that Boston team back then, especially KG (I always respected Pierce, but I was never vocal about it). When the whole Miami thing happened, it didn't rub me the long way until the lost in the Finals in 2011. All of this hype and build up that they created for themselves, just for it to blow up in their faces. I didn't care about Lebron going to Miami, I just care about how arrogance he acted at this point and even in the 2015 Finals when he "answered" a question by saying "I'm the best player in the world". Nothing has changed. I never saw this introduction of the Celtics Big 3 and I have a lot of respect for those guys and that organization because they realized that nothing has been accomplished or guaranteed. Those battles between Miami and Boston were amazing to watch in those years. I just wish the refs officiated a fair series and let Miami get beat like they should've been.

      Celtics big three had a legendary bad luck. Injuries in 2009 and 2010, destroyed team chemistry and no center in 2011, injuries in 2012 and injuries in 2013 once again. They shouldve got three rings (09 and 10) IMO.

    • @faveology
      @faveology 9 років тому +1

      I think we can say that about any sport and any team lol. If you take some of every franchises best players, and you put them on the same team during their mid 20's ofc they'd rape face lol. This is the 2000s. You don't get that much talent - at that young of an age - on one team anymore. The closest you get is probably GSW or The Cavs atm, and I don't honestly think either of them will win the championship this year. I'm fairly certain that Dallas is going to win it all. Dirk is getting up to some of his final years, and this is probably going to be his best shot at getting another championship, so I just have a feeling they're going to get it(not to mention the fact they're underdogs when you look at the rest of the playoff picture).

    • @d.luvevo711
      @d.luvevo711 9 років тому +1

      The crazy thing is, the first two years, they were still in their primes. Pierce averaged 25 the year before they got together (06-07), and averaged 20 in their second year. Allen averaged 27 in 07 and still averaged 18 in 08. Garnett had just averaged 22 and 13 in his last MIN season and had almost 20 and 10 in Boston. That's why they were just so dominant, they were as much in their primes as the 2014 Heat team, just getting old. If KG doesn't get hurt in 2009, they repeat as champions.

      Pretty sure they weren't the first big three... Lakers with Kareem, Magic, and Worthy, the Celtics with Bird, McHale, and Parish the Bulls with Pippen, Jordan, and Rodman... And if you consider the Knicks as a "Big Three" then we've got problems

    • @faveology

      Meh, you can't really call Lebron "cocky". He's just VERY confident. A cocky player doesn't back up their ego. Lebron has done more than enough to justify his ego. The dude is a fucking legend. He could retire, RIGHT NOW, and be a top 5 player of all time in the NBA. That's saying something imo. While I loved the Celtics big 3 and all, I can't hate on Lebron at all. Also, Bosh wasn't very cocky. Bosh is pretty humble overall. He's like Garnett in many ways. He's just a big goofball. Wade has always been cocky, and if I was a Miami fan, I wouldn't mind it. The things Wade has done for the Heat franchise is just unbelievable. He's definitely a legend of the city. Miami would be ignorant to not retire his jersey after all he has done for them.

    um yes, they did get together in the back end of their careers. Ray came to the celtics when he was 32, KG was 31. So they already went through their primes by the time they got to Boston. Miami on the other hand.... all those guys are in their mid/high 20's which is your prime.

  • @TheKYRw
    @TheKYRw 8 років тому +13

    The way the heat did it was what made it so bad. Like if they would've grown up on the same team or like quietly joined the heat it would've been fine, but they did it so douchely. I mean a fuckin concert? They were like so confident too, like they were 100% sure they were the best team possible, that they'd like never lose a game and win championships over and over and over. I love lebron, and I have no problems with bosh or wade, but this was just awful. Shows u what men do when they have a great opportunity that, even if it ruins their public image, will make them a lot of money and way more popular and successful

The fact that the Celtics made it to the ECF considering all the injuries (like Jeff Green & Chris Wilcox with heart surgeries, etc.) and considering the ages of the Big 3... I'm very proud of them. +Mark Sigur Well, who were the Big 3 playing when they won their first championship? The Oklahoma City fucking Thunder, a young, inexperienced squad with a Kevin Durant who hadn't yet reached his prime. And the year before that? They also didn't have Ray Allen (not that I'm necessarily saying Allen would have been the vital piece which would have gotten them a championship), but they had the Big 3, and they lost to the *Dallas Mavericks*, which was not only the heavily unfavored underdog, but also a lower seed as well. I don't usually like to use immature nicknames for players but during that 2011 Finals series "LeChoke James" definitely lived up to his moniker.

    and yea, it's been since '80. i know, to a Heat fan its hard to imagine that anybody could be a fan of their team for that long. i bet you'd understand if i told you i'd been a Celtics fan since Garnett got there though. like i said, the Heat aquired 90% of their fans in 2010, and yes that includes you!

    Agreed; Pierce and LeBron are neck and neck at their peak and Ray Allen can match Wade's scoring but KG would absolutely eat Bosh alive in his prime.

  • @clewlessme
    @clewlessme 12 років тому

    In Wade's defense, if you watch the original clip, D Wade looks pretty uncomfortable while LBJ and Bosh are bent on milking every minute of the limelight...

  • @gadonfane

    to be completely honest i don't' understand why everyone is mad at lebron for saying not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4.... i get that it was a bit arrogant and he thought it was going to be easy. But he realized he was wrong in thinking that it was going to be easy... but as an athlete isn't it instilled in your brain to try to achieve to be the best and be the winner of your sport. What did you expect him to say... "this is going to be a great team hope we can make playoffs but if we lose its okay!"

    Differnce boston had 5 years together and heat had 4 and 2 would still be here because they were getting old they traded them which is smart

    • @faveology
      @faveology 9 років тому

      It was smart to trade them, but I think they held onto Rondo a few seasons too long. It was obvious the guy had a bit too much talent for the Celtics to tank properly, and nobody was going to cough up anything big to the Celts because the Celts had nothing to offer after the big 3 left - except Rondo, which meant they weren't going to be able to put together a championship team until they got rid of him. It sucks when franchises have all-star talent, such as Rondo, but they can't put any pieces together due to the fact the player wins his team too many games for them them to get a nice draft pick.
      Look at Lebron, the first time he was on the Cavs.. They got him NO talent for so long because he was just too damn good. He would carry that whole team on his dick, but one man can't win it all. I think these teams are getting A LOT smarter now. They know that if you don't have a championship caliber team(or playoff bound team - depending on your city and situation) then you just gotta go into rebuild mode. I think a huge flaw with the NBA is the salary caps. Teams like the Lakers should almost NEVER have a bad season because they're one of the wealthiest teams in the NBA - this means they can afford to get the talent. Not to mention the fact they're in LA - a fairly desirable location compared to the likes of the Timberwolves or Pistons. I'm not hating on LA by any means as they have done very well for most of their franchises existence, but what I'm pointing out is how flawed the system can truly be. You need to have set salary caps on teams - to prevent monopolizing things. There's a reason why the big 3 could happen in Miami, but it will never happen to the Timberwolves... location and money. Either way, I think increasing the salary caps next year is slightly stupid as it won't help out anyone really. All the players are just going to expect to get paid more, which means all that "extra money" will just be given to them - rather than trying to help teams expand their rosters and shit.

    But recently D-Wade has seemed more of a punk on the court if anything, with Lebron's ego rubbing off on him. I used to love watching him play before the 2010 season (where he lost the Celtics in the playoffs). His athleticism, and skill set was amazing to watch until I watched him fly around thinking he owned the world with Lebron, trucked Paul Pierce, Yanked Rondo down which led to broken elbow, breaking Kobe's nose, and even if they can be unintentional, he definitely has the look in his eyes

    OKC beat the defending champs, and the two teams that made up more than half of last decade's championships. The way they're stacked, it'll be hard not to see them win in at least 5. Humble and hungry young guys playing for a small city vs. over blasted egos that are quite frankly, more hollywood than LA, in the party city of Miami.
    It's not hard to pick the more likeable team unless you just love Lebron.
