    I mostly learn my modules at school with help from online videos. And this video is one of the worst. Watching through the video like reading PowerPoint slides uploaded in school without any thorough explanation: what, why, how,..? Every points are presented very briefly and not explained well. Another point about this video which I find really tests my patient is: the monotone voice. I struggle a lot to keep me up during the video. Very sad but after 1 hour 8 mins I couldn’t learn anything. It might because I am too stupid and others, who compliment this video are very smart .. thanks anyway for uploading the video.

      I feel sorry to say this... But i think what you figured out is correct.. you might be too stupid to watch this video directly without having any fundamental knowledge of anyother database.. it is for people who have knowledge about any other database and wants to use cassandra.. may be u should refer to some other videos or tutorials for basics and then come back on this.. then i think u will not feel this much disappointed.. sorry again if my words hurted ur feelings. Lets take it the right way.. cheers 🍻

      @@sushantsingh943 I think before pointing out someone else, you should reconsider your own knowledge of basic fundamentals of English. The mode of this video is English and the title of the video specifically says that it is a "Full Course for Beginners". It is highly ironic that you being on a exponentially higher level of stupidity, calling out someone else stupid.
      I've had my a good share of knowledge around SQL as well as No SQL systems, and I can assure you that this "Tutorial" is highly theoretical and does not justifies it's title of being a "course".

      The title is ambiguous. This is a beginner tutorial for Cassandra. Database knowledge is assumed

    The explanation is very sensational, I could apply this concept of NoSQL modeling in SCYLLADB, I could make a video applying the same explanation but for SCYLLADB, I have so far been on Windows 10, I have installed docker to see how I use scyllaDB

    My opinion is that if you're not writing a web app that will have millions of users around the world, just stick with SQL.

    • @DataStaxDevs
      @DataStaxDevs 2 роки тому

      SQL is often a great choice! That said, Cloud makes it pretty easy to deploy globally, pretty soon that's going to be the norm for customer-facing apps or companies that have customers in multiple localities. You don't need to have an app with millions of users to want to deploy as multi-region DB (a single DB deployed across multiple regions). That's definitely a strength Cassandra in particular vs. sharded DBs. Food for thought!

      In fact, there is an upcoming tutorial on FreeCodeCamp that will speak in depth to the tradeoffs and balancing act of when to choose what. Stay tuned, coming in next 2-3 weeks, would be grateful for your opinion on it when it arrives.

    I dont know whos the guy speaking at 9:20 but he has poor narration skills.
    It seems as if he’s talking without having an idea of what hes talking about and its a little bit frustrating.
    Im not saying he doesnt have an idea of what hes talking about, but it feels as so. Its hard to grasp concepts covered by him.
