As an 11/12 year old I could not wait for George to appear between the rounds. Like parts of Brass Eye, a bit later on in the 90's, some of his segments had me in sheer disbelief that anything could be so funny. I was rolling on the living room carpet in hysterical laughter. Class.
“Do you know there’s an awful lot of guff spoken about Snoop Doggy Dog coming from the Bronx committing violent crimes. I was actually at school with Snoop at Eaton, he was my short tennis partner, and as far as I’m concerned he was a jolly good egg” Kills me every single time 🤣

Vic Reeves losing hismind in the background of the Peanuts skit has to be the best. Poor guy looks like he can barely breathe, he's laughing so hard. LOL I dont know how they get any work done.
I saw this bloke ordering when i had a Saturday job in Burger King 1998 during the Edinburgh festival. He tried to dress inconspicuously in a flat cap and matching tweed outfit. He looked like an extra from Oliver. I shouted out "What Are The Scores George Dawes!" Red faced, he tried to order a DBL Whopper Cheese Meal. We then spent about 10 minutes imitating him. Ended up just giving him extra onion rings and some pastry cinnamon swirls after I did a drum solo rendition of John Bonhams Rock n Roll on the counter tops. He ate the lot on his own the legend.
+Aston Piras you are a man of wise words, i could not agree more, this show and matt lucas in general leaves me in tears just looking at the guy. Incredible actor and even better person.
That last bit was 'George Dawes' putting his hands behind his back and sticking V's up at Vic & Bob. Note the beginnings of 'Andy' from Little Britain.
+Stephen Donovan Me too man. Hopefully one day we can release our inner George and live in a full way of the Doors...as the mighty baked potato hath intended!
"While you mock me, do not forget as you languish in your own effluence that I am a self-made man and I could buy you."
In centuries to come, this will surpass Shakespeare.
I still say this very line 🤣🤣
The very best line by a country mile

"Do you know what this represents?"
"A hat?"
"..Yes!"
Vic, Bob and Matt, 3 comedy geniuses, fond memories from my childhood.

I love the bit at 7:09 where Matt *almost* composes himself... then Bob cackles in the background and sets him off again.
Fun fact, I just read bob’s autobiography, and it’s because whilst his hands were behind his back Matt flipped him off
Matt Lucas, mate you're a legend for just taking the word "random" and giving it back it's true definition!
My favourite part is 7:11 he catches his breath and stands all confident thinking he has conquered the giggles and then bam
Brings back so many memories! Still makes me weep.
You don't realise what you've got till it's gone. The 90's were outstanding
I just love hearing the laughter in the background. Even R&M can't stop laughing at him
dont see enough of matt lucas. genius.
walliams gets rammed down our throats though
Mr Bainbridge I don’t know for definite but I imagine he wants it that way??
Hes miles funnier and more talented than walliams
Walliams has capital gums and lower-case teeth
Walliams would love that 😈
Ooh, pardon!
One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
that peanuts song is one of the funniest things I've ever seen lmfao
MotownJunkUk BOUT PEANUTS!!!
That Gregory bit always has me in stitches.
"Gregory? Gregory? Gregory? GREGORY, YOU SLAG!!!!!"
Lmfao. I need a mate called Gregory.
Mark Lamar losing it in the background at 1:25
Literally only just realised George Dawes - Marjorie Dawes
yea she's George's mum!
Vic Reeves losing hismind in the background of the Peanuts skit has to be the best. Poor guy looks like he can barely breathe, he's laughing so hard. LOL I dont know how they get any work done.
I see you, Mark Lamarr - breaking character in the background.
5:52 Absolutely brilliant

Matt Lucas is an absolute genius
George Dawes is such a Name
This needs to be 8 hours long
Gregory...Gregory...Gregory...GREGORY YOU SLAG. I screamed out aloud when I head that lol
One of this finest comedy characters ever
3:07 and 5:52 have remained with me all these years.
Do be good, don't be bad
Do be happy don't be sad
Do be early, don't be late
Always eat what's on your plate
My favourite bit is when he breaks into Flava in that first song and you can see Mark Lamarr just pissing himself at the desk behind him.. 😂
Making Lamarr laugh should be an Xbox Achievment
Need a poll for which is best...
Peanuts vs baked potato vs lesbians
For me it's lesbians, just
ChubbyChecker182 lesbians
Nah baked potato
ChubbyChecker182 peanuts 🥜
Lesbians is a beautifully crafted piece of work
Gotta be peanuts. All the corpsing and everyone cracking up makes it the funniest imo.
Hahaha at 1:53 he looks more like Anne Robinson from Weakest Link or even Anne Widdecombe! All the Annes basically.
Peanuts, absoute quality
The soup rant from 6:03 onwards always cracks me up!
Where's me frigging soup 🍲 06:03
His genius will be missed in the new series.
You had no idea how right you were
thank you very much for this
Very good compilation dude
funniest human being ever spawned unto this planet!
+Aston Piras you are a man of wise words, i could not agree more, this show and matt lucas in general leaves me in tears just looking at the guy. Incredible actor and even better person.
5:52 Makes me cry with laughter, no idea why, just the combo of the uniform, the face, the voice and the ridiculous stuff coming out of his mouth :D
PEANUTS, PEANUTS PEANUTS "what's the song about" "sbout peanuts" LOL
@stevebritgimp I've been waiting years to see this again lol thanks for marking it out!
HE'S A BA-BY, HE'S A BA-BY!
hahaha that baked potato song is brilliant
5:52 is a stroke of pure genius
"Elton John!"
"AYE?!"
Matt is such an incredible talent, very versatile. He was also brilliant in Dr Who.
and a jolly good egg
That last bit was 'George Dawes' putting his hands behind his back and sticking V's up at Vic & Bob. Note the beginnings of 'Andy' from Little Britain.
‘He was my short tennis partner.’ The story about Snoop Dogg was sublime!
Gutted that it doesn't include the first time I saw him - "Georgies Dawes, what's the word of the day? SLAG!"
Matt audio book is a great insight to his life. A talent for sure .
I love Peanuts. Just the fact he called that outfit his 'pursuit outfit'. Named after his amazing chase scene in Catterick!
Best thing for anxiety....I so miss this sort of Comedy... Absolute Class....sheer hilarity 👏👏👏😂😂😂😂
Legend
I would watch this show purely to see what George would do when he came on.
The boyband member skit nearly finished me. 😂😂😂😂😂
3 of my heroes.
He was so funny on this show.
I love all of this but 5:52 kills me every time
I wholly and downright agree good sir !
fuck that part is good
Me too!
Yes, incredibly funny
Classic Comedy miss this from Friday Nights 😂😂
When he tells the Snoop Dogg story, his voice sounds like Griff Rhys Jones.
I love watching bob laugh
His best work.
The way George dawes makes me laugh no1 can 🤣
Peanuts had to be inspired by the guy on the North Bank who would go round shouting “Peanuts!!” (Matt’s a big Gooner).
It looks like Andy from Little Britain
watched baked potato 4 times. pissed myself everytime! 😂
6:03 😂 possibly not the most accurate, but definitely best scouse accent I've heard
"Alice! Take the Eccles cake out of ya arse, put it back on the table! Our children must eat!"
He is the real me, the me that I keep contained to be accepted into mainstream society.
lol
+Stephen Donovan Me too man. Hopefully one day we can release our inner George and live in a full way of the Doors...as the mighty baked potato hath intended!
georgie dawes has got them moves like jagger !! lol
Best show ever........
BAKED POTATO CHANGED MY LIFEEEEEE!
He only manages to say peanuts properly once and it's the most famous song.
Matt Lucas: The funny one out of Little Britain!!!
You can literally see little Britain in these pictures
- Elton John! Its Elton John!
- ...Aye
I still laugh so hard at this!!
Classic material
“Gregory, Gregory, GREGORY YOU SL@G!”😂
Matt Lucas - Roger from American Dad in Real life
Genius
Hands and faces and arses and things!!😂👍
Quality!
When friday night television peaked
Shooting stars
Never mind the buzzcocks
They think its all over
The word
& the fast show.
Sheer genius....
I like when he shouts out "I don't like your face!"
I was in the same class at Eton and I can confirm that snoop was a jolly good egg
Wow, Andy could walk!
When comedy was on the TV.
I'VE ASKED FOR SOOP DEYVE NOT BROGT IT
Still has me corpsing
fucking legend.
God this made me loose my shit all those years back then and I still loose my shit now 🤣🤣🤣
The hip hop song is a glaring omission. Is up there with lesbians
I miss the 90s
3:20 - Marjorie Dawes!!!
Matt is really a Genius😂
Damn shame his rendition of the "Rentaghost" theme wasn't amongst these!!
my favourite part 1:18 - 1:38 lol
Hands and faces
That’s hands, and faces
So,
Hands, and faces
_And arses and things_
i am a self made man and i could buy you
