- PCP’s are the future of air rifles! If you enjoy shooting, and don’t have one yet, you are missing out! I can definitely vouch for the brands/models in this video! Get yours today!
Forgive the misspeak: the Benjamin Bulldog is chambered in .357 cal (not .30). I was greedily shopping for a .30 around the time I made this video and I suppose it was in the back of my mind. 🧠 🫠

"Don't wanna spend more than $200 on a fancy air gun"
Well here's a $1000 air gun
I’m just going get a real gun at that price
Well those usually shoot 1.77 or .22 pellets and just use the air from breaking the barrel good for small game but this could potentially take down larger game specially cyotes and idk about places where firearms are hard to get for hunting if these are a legal alternative but if they are worth the price but my gamo gets the trick done

30-06 is over kill in my area. A .223 or a .270 have no issue killing a deer. My area the longest shot you're gonna make isn't going to exceed 100-200 yards, hell all the deer I've shot have been within 50 yards with a Marlin 36 30-30.
@@ADHDcisGingerI personally use my Marlin 375 chambered in .375 Winchester because no big bore should shoot anything but Buffalo Bore. I’m joking I use a 1895 7mm Mauser with a 30” barrel and Federal 175 gr. Bullets. Have a good one y’all!

I've been shooting airguns since I was a kid. 5 years ago, i purchased my first PCP (Benjamin Marauder). Now, I have numerous PCPs.
That was the best ad/commercial I've seen in a long time.
My first rifle was a 1942 M1 carbine. My dad bought it home from Vietnam. It was brand new and still in the wooden crate it was stored in from the manufacturer.
this is actually amazing. You could theoretically have this gun in any SHTF situation and it will shoot forever as long as you can fix any issues that arise.
My thoughts exactly, I’m guessing the right tools, it’s only really going to be the seals that go, hardly any moving parts, just a jar of the seals they use and your good (tho I bet you could improvise)
I'll keep my 22 break rifle. He didn't say how long the hand pump took, gets old quick or that you only get 1 or 2 shots per charge on higher calibers.
I mean, just having it as a backup is cool. TO be able to shoot anything, any time without powder is just cool to me.@@strayblackcatsmeow
Yea except it really really sucks to use a manual pump to fill one of these. The pump is super delicate too. If you were to use one of these for survival long term you would end up using it as a club.
not for rodents and shit?@@chasingthefish9042
At thirteen I got a .410 for my birthday my first gun I paid for was a Henry 357 lever action then I bought a BB gun my order is completely off 🤣🤣🤣
Same. I had a Savage 16 Guage break open with a 30-30 barrel swap and a 22 LR bolt action at 7 well before I bought my first bb gun. My dad was perplexed as to why I wanted a bb gun when I had a 22. Simple answer was quail and a distant neighbor from the city who kept calling the cops on me. Different worlds, I guess.
I started with a 22-250 then a 300 mag then 270 worked down to a shot gun then a pistol ended up with a pellet gun to shoot mice getting in the hog and chicken feed
Man that jump from a red rider to a powerline 880 was serious as a kid. I think the bug out and prepper, survival community needs to remember the powerline880. Took raccoons, rabbits ,squirrels and alot of other varmints and small game with one...had a old neighbor that carried his on his trap line. Worked for coyotes and other trapped furbearers .
May not bring a coyote down, but it sure as hell will make them think twice 😂
I was gonna ask, do i remind them being better when i was a kid or is it just im use to firearms now. I bought one a few years ago and it seems to just annoy anything bigger than a tree rat.
Benjamin has been around since forever and made me a good shot.
I got a Marlin model 60 for my 4th birthday, and I still have it. My grandpa bought it in the 70s for plinking, and it's been passed along since.
That’s freaking awesome brother. 👊 Sounds like you have a good Grandad.

You perfectly described my childhood climbing up the airgun ladder, except I learned to become deadly with the break barrel option instead of throwing it away; and now the local small game population fears me
You have my utmost respect 🫡 for gaining the skill to shoot consistent groups with a breakbarrel. I know it’s quite doable (otherwise breakbarrel airgunning wouldn’t have been an Olympic event for as long as it was) I was even pretty good with my last one. This was the best air gun video I’ve seen
The Red Ryder BB gun was the coolest thing I had growing up.. YOULL SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT
I still have mine from 1975. It still works and it's still right on.
"get your PCP today, and you'll be able to fly"
The first time I seen a PCP, it was a Hatsan Bully .30 cal, I was like "big deal, what's the appeal". My Dad got it and me being a gunsmith, I was a little leary. He set up a cinder block about 50 yds away and let's me take a shot. I couldn't believe it. Disintegrate is an understatement. This thing really rock and rolled. He just picked up a .50 cal one and I just couldn't believe the power. It was uncanny. I'm still stuck in the gun world, I've been on a .300 win mag and 7mm-08 kick lately and just can't justify adding another to an already expansive collection. It's hard enough keeping up with 25 separate cartridges and keeping them stocked. But PCPs aren't a bad choice, money wise. Once you have a decent pump, a little pony tank for travel, and some decent pellets, you're ready to go. Plus making pellets in SHTF situation is going to be easier than reloading ammo. Hell, you don't even need heat to make the pellets as you could swag them.
My dad started me with a 1970s crossman 760 when I was 9 and he bought it new in the 90s for my bday from this old hardware store that had a bunch of old pellet and BB guns that's old new stock from 60s-90s and a huge selection as well of rimfire rifles and shotguns and got my first 22lr from there as well and now I'm 32 with a huge gun collection and a huge airgun collection it's crazzy how much fun pcp air rifle are
my dad has the bulldog and he loves that thing, he goes hunting with it a lot
Awesome brother! 👊 I like your dad’s style. 😎

Same chronological order I had growing up. I use to think real guns would shoot like lasers with no bullet drop or wind drift traveling a mile second until started using air guns. My best shot ever was with a cross man .177 break barrel on a pigeon from three houses away on the roof (about 60 yards) from my back yard with iron sights, I compensated roughly 8-10 inches above and smacked him lol.
Love it brother. Sounds like you got off to a great start. 💨 🐦 🏠

You allowed me to relive my long lost and much missed childhood.
Yes but....U can Store an old repeater decades with Grease and sealing and it will shoot on the first try. Air rifles require maintenace do have valves and seals.
Actually you can do the same for a pcp! 😃. You’re correct about the valves and seals. There are two schools of thought on storage. Most believe it’s best to keep the air tank full to hold pressure on the seals but if we’re talking years, you could de-gas the tank, grease her down…and store. May be good to pack alongside a few extra sets of O-rings slathered in silicone grease and vacuum sealed as well. Breaking down the tank and oiling the inside would be good. (Air moisture inside could damage)
But these guns definitely have their place in a post apocalyptic arsenal. When the days of no primers or propellants are upon us…all these babies need to run are air and lead! Happy shooting! 💨

@@timschulte6371 that’s awesome Tim! I know you won’t regret it. Definitely more PCP videos to come. But what’s mine blowing is I’m not sure if there’s enough to the maintenance to make a video on. They are virtually maintenance free. I actually never clean mine, though some of them do come with swabs and a rod to push them through. One thing that I can say I do with habitual consistency : is lightly coat all of my hand casted projectiles with “Wiscombe’s honey”. It is a mixture of Hoppe’s gun oil and STP engine treatment. Mix 2:1 respectively.
Every projectile sent down the barrel, comes along with a light coat of oil and takes nice care of your barrel and rifling. This is particularly important in the south, where we have a lot of moisture in our air, which can be a danger despite the pre-filters that come with our compressors. You may find there are a lot of naysayers out there when it comes to bullet lube and big bore air guns. Ignore them. I get nice tight groups and impressive distances doing this. Velocities are also not affected in any negative way. One extra plus of doing this is if you cast your own bullets, the coating will prevent surface oxidation virtually forever. Happy shooting 💨

Someone needs to hire you on the marketing team
Also if you are in some places like germany, some Airguns with up to 7.5J (Germany) are available on the free market for everyone at or older than the age of 18.
Some of those can easily and illegaly be converted to shot with as much as 200J. The conversion kits themselfs though aren't illegal, just the converted end result!
Worth considering if you have a Prepper Mind in restricted Countries and still want to be prepared for the Worst Case scenario.
An don't forget that plinking in oneselfs or a friends home garden can be extremly fun! Don't do it in public lands though, and clean up after yourself!
