Thanks for your very informative video's. I started making kefir about 3 weeks ago and watched every video that I could find. I've been using the 24-36 hour on the counter method that most of them propose using only about a tablespoon of grains per 6 cups of milk and although I'm drinking the results I have been disappointed with the thickness of the end product, i.e. too much whey and carbonation. I'm going to start a new batch today using your techniques. Thanks.
See here then let me know if you've done that to start with. "Start new grains" - ua-cam.com/video/9RU3q2Xf4io/v-deo.html Then I need to know what you did to them, how long you had them, where did you get them from?
@@thekefircode7399 i got from local person, i am having it for 10 years, it is still only 2 teaspoons. I will see you other video and try. thanks for swift reply.
😮😮😯😯😬😬 Oh my it's time for change now! You're spinning your wheels. Not good! Grains may have been bad to start with. What country are you in? Typically I would suggest order new grians Now!! LiVE, only live grains. From Quality seller, closest source you can for quick shipping. I may be able to help you find it.
I only have a few kefir grains. maybe only 2 tablespoons. if i mix ready-made kefir with kefir grains to get a 1:3 (milk) ratio to make 1 liter of kefir, What is your opinion?
Hey, I just had a video on starting new grains recently ua-cam.com/video/9RU3q2Xf4io/v-deo.html It's a quick overview & potential growth. I'd grow them up for another wk or 2 before you worry about it. No need to mix, (if it's strained& finished w/ finished, of course, that's fine.) *You Have to give the grains fresh milk. All the rest you'll need to figure it out is on my channel. Concepts and observations are what you'll need as they grow. Feel free to ask along the way. Good luck!
So you yours are better? good for you ma'am.. The grains were only 2 months old here, so yeah they're looking good & have grown a massive amount. What makes yours better, you have a large grain or what.
I'm not going that far with it this is still very drinkable. If the whey is left in it would be much more watery than normal kefir. You would have to drain for a long time for cheese. Were not that far.

That's the Take Away of the video, Happy Kefirin'🍶
So much good advice to unpack in this fascinating video! I do similar actions to my refrigerated milk kefir as you do.

Start simple & get a feel for the process, good luck!
(My video - starting new grains)
@@thekefircode7399 thank you!! Yes I'm starting with small amount of milk but noticed the grains are rising to the top... Is this okay?
@leannehall2256 that's normal for me with raw milk. That's one reason you need to stir it, mix it up a few times while fermenting.
@@thekefircode7399 fab!! That's good to know! 😄
Love your videos
From Ireland

I'd be interested to hear why you think his grains don't look good? (if that is what you implied by your comment). Thanks.
Aint it just the way to do cheese, filter the whey
