It's always so nice to hear foreigners appreciate Tagalog songs. Just so you know, the lyrics are very, very poetic, and I think if you knew what they mean, you'll fall in love with the song even more. Some of the words are really deep Tagalog words that few people use in conversations. Anyway, if you watch the final episode of the series where this song was first played (Gaya sa Pelikula), you will see translated captions for the lyrics in so many languages (including Portugese). I can't believe they put so much effort on that one.
@@adrianpadalhin854 hi Adrian, how are you? I am a big fan of Gaya Sa Pelikula and other Philippine series. I think your language is very beautiful and I would love to learn it better. And thanks to this series, I discovered Filipino music and I'm 100% in love with it!
Understand? Not a word. Crying anyways? Hell yeah. God, the arrangement and emotion in his voice are so raw, and when the motif from the show played during the guitar solo, you realize how far we feel like we’ve come with these two. I’m simultaneously wholly unprepared and defiantly optimistic for tomorrow’s finale.
Honestly, as a Filipino, I'm having a hard time translating this, because I think, the writer, JMS, is the one who truly could justify the translation to English and how it should be read. The song is too deep. 🥺
And if this is how we'll say goodbye, In time it will fade, ever so slowly, We'll carve on the tree bark our names, That if we get lost, that will be our marker. In times of fighting, contempt and intemperance, There will still be love, please don't leave. Because of this we measure the distance, the center of this world, No one will surpass. In us, in us, we return, Magnet of tired hearts, Come back to love. Laughter that will only by punctuated by hugs, by kisses, There's still love when you return, Because here, here, we measure the distance, the center of this world, No one will surpass. In us, in us, we return, Magnet of tired hearts, Love will come back (4x). Will you return, my love?
@@frantickero7725 Thanks for this. I feel like this is a closer translation of the poetic words used in the song. 😁 The song is just too deep. As a speaker myself, I have to really focus to understand. And I didn't know what "batubalani" is. ☹️😔✌️
When GSP was on the heights of it's popularity, I intentionally did not watched it. I wanted the trend to calm down first. I just finished watching the series a few days ago, and I'm still in awe how beautiful it was. Too bad season two might be out of the picture... Paolo did great, but Ian carried this series. The open ended conclusion of the series is beautiful but left me wanting for more. A bittersweet memory. Hopefully, when woulds are healed, maybe we could see them again. :(
Whoaa same here! I just watched the series last week (2 years behind) and GSP gave me chills. I was speechless and literally balling towards end of series. Ian is superb here and can’t wait to see more of his performance. I get emotional every time i hear GSP soundtrack and this song. Hays. And yes, hoping for GSP S2
"Your tagalog was beautiful" -Judit If only you guys could understand our language. You will know how beautiful it is. I wanna translate the song for you guys, but I don't think it will have the same feels.
I'm attempting to learn the Tagalog language, it's needs a little work but it's a little bit similar to Malay, my native language. By the way, Hello from Malaysia, your neighbour.
In [ ] are phrases and words that are not really included, but implied in the Tagalog lyrics. Please bear with me. It's very difficult to do a literal translation while staying faithful to the contextual and implied meaning of the lyrics and the emotion and message it conveys. Here it goes: And if this is how we will be saying goodbye [Our love] will fade in time, painfully slow [I] will carve our names on a tree So when we get lost, we have somewhere to return to Through petty fights and banters Or intemperance Our love can stand still, Please don't leave [or give up on it] Chorus: Coz this is the origin with which we measure the distance [we've journeyed apart] The center of [our] universe Nothing will ever come close [to what we had] [What we had] will always remain home [for both of us] Magnetic are [our] tired hearts [And] will [someday] return to love [Our] good times may be ending With kisses and embrace My love persists Awaiting your return (Repeat chorus)
*My English translation* Kilometer Zero (by Ian Pangilinan) And if it's like this, we say goodbye It fades in time very slowly Engrave our names on the tree That when we get lost, we have trails to see. We fight, we tease, we exaggerate But there's still love, so please don't leave. Because in here, in here we get to measure the distance My center of the Earth That nothing can ever replace It's us, in us, we found home The magnet that binds our tired hearts That brings us back to love. There's laughter that's ended by hugs and kisses But there's still love waiting, once you come back. Because in here, in here we get to measure the distance My center of the Earth That nothing can ever replace It's us, in us, we found home The magnet that binds our tired hearts That brings us back to love (3x) ....Will you still come back, my love?
For me it's about going back where you came from. Going back to the most memorable moments. This is the term used when you are lost, always go to the kilometer zero, Rizal Park is an example.
Because Kilometer Zero is where everything starts, the origin of it all. The lyrics says “Dito, dito nasusukat ang layo, ang sentro ng ating daigdig.” Interpreting it in highway systems, kilometer zero is where the center of the place is.
Also, look at the thumbnails of Episode 1 to 8 in bold capital letters...then it goes back to 0 in this song’s own thumbnail ; which I think has some ingenious way of saying something significant to the entire story of Vlad and Karl.
wow! I'm literally here because I want to somehow, somehow, add it to my playlist for my 5-hour drive to visit my parents tomorrow morning...so yeah, I agree
KILOMETER ZERO LYRICS: So, if this is how we're meant To bid farewell Eroding with time, little by little I shall find a tree and carve Our names there So, when one gets lost A mark guide us back here Despite the fighting, teasing And mistakes we made Love remains So, please, don't you ever just leave Because this place Distance means how far I am From this place Here lies my center Earth And nothing gets better than this Us, dear It's the only home that I know Tired may these magnet hearts be They'll return to love one day, see I had a hard time finding lyrics for this and found a part of it on Netflix. Putting it here for those who fell in love with this language and song, enjoy! It's not perfect, but I will take whatever I can find! Feel free to comment to improve on the accuracy of the translation :)
You are the real MVP here!!! Thank you for this! Although I loved the song all this time without knowing what the lyrics were, now I see how even more beautiful a masterpiece it is!!! Thank you!! 😊
The song talks about home base, resting place, nesting place, point of origin, home, in spite of breakups, divergence, longing and loneliness. We may leave our home base, but circumstances will somehow force us to go back to where we truly belong. You may say, "It's love, the greatest of all."
The first part talks about goodbyes and getting lost; it ends with "Magbabalik SA pagmamahal." Return to love. The second part recalls the laughter and embrace; it ends with "Magbabalik ANG pagmamahal." Hopeful for love's return. Ultimately the song ends with "Magbabalik ka pa ba mahal?" Are you going to be back, love? A direct question to the beloved. This song is just pure elegance!
your take on the last part of the song brings out the essence of the last episode which made the song much more significant in the series... Magbabalik ka ba mahal? omg its so poignant! so beautiful and relevant...
Kilometer Zero is a nice metaphor because wherever you are in Luzon, there is an engraved stone beside rural and urban roads pointing how may kilometers away are you from the nearest town and Manila. "Kilometer Zero" is the reference point of all that stone engraving in Luzon and it is located exactly across the statue of Jose Rizal in Rizal park, Manila. If you cross the road going to Quirino Grand Stand, the stone engraving there says Kilometer 0. If anyone gets lost anywhere, you can look into this stone engravings to check if you are going near or far from Manila.
@@hirumayoichi21 Gege (Juan Miguel Severo) is the writer of Gaya sa Pelikula while Pat is the one who's responsible for the sound effects and arrangement of Gaya sa Pelikula, she's the girl behind the wonderful arrangements of sounds and songs that elevate the feels of the important scenes in this series.
Ian is going miles farther than where he is now. His talents are undeniable - a real triple threat (singing, acting, and dancing). And for Gege, the writing as usual is exquisite. The poetry is so profound.
You know how there are some languages that sound harsh to non-speakers, some that just sound like words, even without knowing the meaning, and some that just sound beautiful? If this is representative of Tagalog, then we can truly put it into the category that can reach into your heart and stir such emotion that you never want it to leave you again. BTW, thank you to everyone that has tried to translate it for us. Your words are very much appreciated.
I just can't imagine how are people going to translate this to english. Like the words used and the way it was presented is so filipino and i love it. I'm happy to understand it, the way it is. Gege is truly an amazing guy and ofcourse, kudos to Ian's soothing voice. 😍
@@debralyn10 If only i could. I won't dare do so tho, i mean, the filipino words used are just too much for me and i'm quite worried not to give it the rightful justice. For sure someone would. Let's just wait for it. 😊
Out of all the bl series I have ever watched, Gaya sa Pelikula is my most favorite one. Ang ganda ng storyline at soundtrack, tas ang galing ng actors, this series is truly a masterpiece. ❤️ Kudos to all the people that made this series happen! ❤️
True! So Vote sa RAWR or Lionheart for BEST BL TANDEM.. Nangunguna ang GAME BOYS.. Twice a day ako nagvovote sa GAYA SA PELIKULA pero mukhang Game Boys mananalo sobrang laki nang lamang. Sayang talaga, GAYA SA PELIKULA is the best BL series ever produced in the country. Haysss, ewan sana manalo sa RAWR lols
I am not a Filipino. I am an Indian Guy(Bi) with Y- Blood...I just loved this series more than any BL I ever saw. Only BL that gave this series a serious Competition was ITSAY! Anyways......This song is a beautiful "Melody" fills my Heart with deep sorrow and peace which can't be express. this song is So Underrated! Wish we could get season 2
To think that as a filipino I did not understand the line “Batubalani’y Pusong Pagal” cause those are very deep tagalog words and someone mentioned that it means “ Magnets for our tired hearts” or “Magnets that bind our tired hearts” so freaking poetic it’s crazy how you can learn new words from your own language.
@@neofilipinoproud2b Well naging salutatorian akong nang elementary at valedictorian nung hs maybe I’m not paying attention well enough?? One of words is literally magnet since when did Filipino Literature casually mentioned Magnets. Pwera nalang kung tinagalog ng teacher yung magnetism at electromag sa physics diba. Ang batubalani ay may norte at timog na mga poste? ganun bayun besh?
"Sa'tin, sa'tin pa rin ang uwi" I remember that scene in ep.6 when Karl was asking if Vlad was gonna come home. Karl wished that Vlad would come home because he feels like he doesn't belong and doesn't have a home. And then the part where they danced and kissed, Ride 'Home' was playing. "So I'm coning home to you"... Vlad is Karl's "home", his safe space. "Magbabalik ang pagmamahal, magbabalik ka pa ba mahal" After the events that transpired in ep.7 I am hopeful that whatever feelings Karl and Vlad have for each other will not only "return", but stem deeper than before. They both will come back to each other again.
I need to stop! This plays softy in my room at night, during the day, I just get this urge to listen to this. I don't even understand what the song means but it so good. The way Ian delivers it! Definitely my favourite song this year, it just crept to the top!
The song basically tells moving on or loosing love and comming back. Thus the Kilometer Zero title which is like a metaphor for whatever distance you reach there's always a point in this world where you can comeback and start over again.
Ngayon pa lumitaw 'tong kantang to na bigla biglang lumilitaw sa memories ko sa fb activities namin nung yumao kong ex ??? To my Baloloy, you will forever be my Kilometer Zero. This might sound conceited but I will forever look for you in every man that I will meet. You were my big brother, you called me kuya yet most of the time you looked out for me; you never failed to lavish me with your sweetness and love; we dreamed together, built plans for the future, we mapped out adventures. Too bad, we were restricted by distance yet, the little time that we spent together made everything real. Though you left early I thanked the universe that we made our way to each other. I am forever grateful to God that he let me borrow you for a short time. The only thing that I regret during our short time together is I failed to brave my love for you and from that cowardice sprung a lot of "could have beens" which I don't wanna think about. I let trivial things come in the way and for that, I am sincerely sorry. I hope that in the next lifetime, the universe will be generous again to us to lead us back together in each other's arms. Until then, you enjoy your time up there; no more pains, no more worries, no more sickness, only bliss, and happiness. Please watch over me and maybe you can make a pitch to The Man up there to strengthen me always. I love you JL, I am certain that people will come my way; some will hurt me, some will love me but please know that you forever leave a void inside my heart that nobody else can fill except you.
Yung pigil na pigil ako sa luha ko habang ninanamnam yung lyrics then mababasa ko itong story mo.. 😭😭😭😭 Someone will come your way that will love you the way you loved JL and will make your world blissful.. trust His timing.
Omg. I almost lost my partner for 8 years. And just merely imagining if this happened to me, i will never move on. That by the very thought of moving on seems being unfaithful to him.... Thank you neighbor for sharing your story. I hope you will be fully healed and be happy. :)

i just watched it today. i did not watch it when it was a hit because this is the series my ex and his third party watched together when they both cheated. i have the courage to watch it now after two years. this movie is so beautiful to miss. and this song is so soothing. i love you ian. i just saw you last saturday in uptown, bgc. and it inspired me to watch GSP finally. i am still not okay now, but this series helped me in some ways.
Beeen waiting for it.. imma cry now How can an artist be so talented. He is an amazing actor and an amazing singer on top of that.. I am so proud that i stan a talented man.
Ramdam mo yung passion ni Ian sa craft niya, kaya mahal na mahal ko siya at sobrang dami ng nagmamahal sa kanya. He deserves all the happiness and successes he's got kasi super hard working niyang tao. Finally, 𝙶𝚂𝙿 thank you so much for introducing Ian to me. Now I can say I found my inspiration. Love you all neighbors✨
'Vlad's Song' always tears at my heartstrings. Ian Pangilinan has portrayed/personified Vlad so effectively and wholeheartedly that it's hard to separate him from the character.
I will never get tired of rewatching the whole series of Gaya sa Pelikula over and over again. The actors, the shots, the soundtracks, the plot, and the message- everything about it is perfect. Would you agree with me if I say that GSP has raised the bar for Filipino Boys Love (BL) Series? Yes, it did. I also want to tell all "Karls" out there that you deserve the greatest love of all and you should take your time in figuring out every detail of you. Coming out is never an easy thing so do not put too much pressure on yourself. The world needs you and the world will see you when it is the right time for you. Sending hugs!
To those who were left behind by the person you loved... You are valid. They may not be the right person for you, or they maybe the right one but in due time. What's important is you love yourself now, and never let go of yourself... You are the writer to your own story, write a lovely one.
I pity those who do not understand Filipino language. The emotions the Filipino lyrics brought is just not translatable. Although the melody and Ian's singing gave a hint of it, it is just inadequate. Congratulations to the people behind this masterpiece!
@@jericobongosia3992 very true, the essence of the song, the true meaning cannot be translated, you only have to feel the words to understand. Tagalog words cannot be translated directly because they don't have exact words in English and may lose their meaning if translated them into English or may not feel the same way as the original word. Example of songs that Filipinos love but Foreigners cannot understand why because the lyrics, when translate to English sounds plain and simple. Tadhana, Buwan, Mundo, Tahanan, Unti-unti and this song by Ian.
Ang hirap pala kasi naging tahanan ko na rin tong kantang 'to, pati yung palabas. Pero at the end of the day, ang hirap i-diassociate ng likha mula sa manlilikha nito. Everything that has transpired starting the third week of June 2021 has wrecked me and my memories of GSP. I learned a thing or two through this show, even a bit of accepting myself. But again, we need to let go of the nostalgia, to move forward while pushing the agenda for a more inclusive world that is accepting of the different forms of love. Paalam GSP, it was nice having you as my temporary resting place especially in 2020. However, it's time to move on.
My interpretation of the lyrics: Kilometer zero Ian Panguilinan And if this is how you say farewell fading gently with time We'll engrave our names on a tree so we'd know our way back if we're lost Between our fights, teases and unscrupulousness there is still love, so why would you leave? Because it is here where we can measure the distance, the center of the world, and nothing can compare All roads will still lead to us My tired heart is like a magnet that would still get back to loving Laughter will be halted by hugs and kisses, and you will still find love if you come back Because it is here where we can measure the distance, the center of the world, and nothing can compare All roads will still lead to us My tired heart is like a magnet that would still get back to loving ❤️❤️❤️
Ian Pangilinan can act, sing and dance. As talented as he is, I don't want him to go mainstream. The indie scene needs this guy's talent and only in indie can he master his craft. Like Alex De Rossi.
You're absolutely right 👍 Unang kita ko pa lang sa 2 as main character... Kay vlad ako unang nabighani, di ko pa alam screen nya. Ang cute and handsome, tas singer din pala sya😍 Sorry ngayon lang ako nahilig sa mga Pinoy BL series, kaya late commentitor...
You can hear Karl and Vlad's theme at various time stamps. Karl's theme starts at 2:10, and Vlad's theme starts at 0:05 and appears again at 4:00. Both of these are present in the series' OBB. Just listen closely. The attention to details of this series is outstanding!
Official English Translation taken from Gaya Sa Pelikula Episode 8 So if this is how we're meant to bid farewell Eroding in time, little by little I shall find a tree and carve our names there So when one gets lost, a mark will guide us back here Despite the fighting, teasing, and offenses we made Love remains so please, don't you ever just leave Because this place Distance means how far I am from this place Here lies my center of Earth And nothing gets better than this Us, dear -- ”it's the only home that I know Tired may these magnet hearts be They'll return to love one day, see
Kilometer Zero (Luzon, PH) is a marker located in front of Rizal’s monument, a location before we go to Quirino Grandstand. You can find it on the lyrics. Thats why this song was titled KM 0. My mother used to tell this before when I was a child. Even your parents know it, kahit walang google. Tanungin nyo ngayon na. Alam nila yan for sure. Alam nyo naman tong si Gege. Daming simbolismo. Hindi nya basta basta ibibigay lang ang kahulugan. Will the story end here at KM 0 or will the real story begins here? Anggaleng 👏👏👏

I wanted to translate this to English for foreign fans, but damn, the lyrics are so local. I'm afraid it might not give the song the justice it deserves. This makes me feel privileged as a Filipino with all of the Pinoy BLs going around. And slightly jealous on how Thais are privileged with all their Thai BLs, etc. So many words and thoughts lost in translation. I hope everyone gets to know the meaning of the song as it is!!!
Kilometer zeros 1st zero - It began with a serendipitous meeting somewhere in Malate. I was studying transes for Biochemistry when you suddenly entered. I was entranced. I performed my own written monologue, inspired by my feelings for you, under the tutelage of theater people but I performed it badly in public. You rejected my heart. And afterwards, I was heart-broken after a month. I kept the heartbreak very well hidden so much that no one in our small class in Medicine ever knew I was hurting inside. It all came out 1 year after. I vividly remember studying cardiac pathology when I suddenly cried in public in Coffeebean somewhere in Tomas Morato. 2nd zero - I first saw you somewhere in Bonifacio High Street. It was a Sunday and 3rd year Medicine was so stressful. I needed relaxation and then I met you. I was gutsy then and I instantly asked you out. On our first date, it was a Chinese New Year somewhere in Binondo. You fed me freshly baked hopia and until now, it was the best tasting hopia I ever had. It helped that I enjoyed the hopia under red paper lanterns illuminating the busy streets of Binondo. We met again this year after chatting again. It was before Covid 19 struck this country, before the community quarantines, before the death of a 30 year old physician, before the panic attacks and insomnia. You gave me a kiss before this pandemic, before I had to do my duty as a physician. Afterwards, you ghosted me, never to return again. Again, I return to these painful moments; not to torture myself with regrets but with acceptance as they formed part of my journey.

Magnet of tired hearts,
Come back to love.
Laughter that will only by punctuated by hugs, by kisses,
There's still love when you return,
Because here, here, we measure the distance,
the center of this world,
No one will surpass.
In us, in us, we return,
Magnet of tired hearts,
Love will come back (4x).
"Your tagalog was beautiful"
-Judit
If only you guys could understand our language. You will know how beautiful it is. I wanna translate the song for you guys, but I don't think it will have the same feels.
I'm learning Tagalog, and I was thinking that (attempting to) translate this would be a good learning exercise
I'm attempting to learn the Tagalog language, it's needs a little work but it's a little bit similar to Malay, my native language. By the way, Hello from Malaysia, your neighbour.
In which EP Judith said that?
@@farisa4225 episode 3, 18:14 :)
In [ ] are phrases and words that are not really included, but implied in the Tagalog lyrics.
Please bear with me. It's very difficult to do a literal translation while staying faithful to the contextual and implied meaning of the lyrics and the emotion and message it conveys.
Here it goes:
And if this is how we will be saying goodbye
[Our love] will fade in time, painfully slow
[I] will carve our names on a tree
So when we get lost, we have somewhere to return to
Through petty fights and banters
Or intemperance
Our love can stand still,
Please don't leave [or give up on it]
Chorus:
Coz this is the origin with which we measure the distance [we've journeyed apart]
The center of [our] universe
Nothing will ever come close [to what we had]
[What we had] will always remain home [for both of us]
Magnetic are [our] tired hearts
[And] will [someday] return to love
[Our] good times may be ending
With kisses and embrace
My love persists
Awaiting your return
(Repeat chorus)
*My English translation*
Kilometer Zero (by Ian Pangilinan)
And if it's like this, we say goodbye
It fades in time very slowly
Engrave our names on the tree
That when we get lost, we have trails to see.
We fight, we tease, we exaggerate
But there's still love, so please don't leave.
Because in here, in here we get to measure the distance
My center of the Earth
That nothing can ever replace
It's us, in us, we found home
The magnet that binds our tired hearts
That brings us back to love.
There's laughter that's ended by hugs and kisses
But there's still love waiting, once you come back.
Because in here, in here we get to measure the distance
My center of the Earth
That nothing can ever replace
It's us, in us, we found home
The magnet that binds our tired hearts
That brings us back to love (3x)
....Will you still come back, my love?

I love how the title, Kilometer Zero, was not mentioned on the song, because it was the whole song itself.
"Dito nasusukat ang layo" definition ng Kilometer Zero

KILOMETER ZERO LYRICS:
So, if this is how we're meant
To bid farewell
Eroding with time, little by little
I shall find a tree and carve
Our names there
So, when one gets lost
A mark guide us back here
Despite the fighting, teasing
And mistakes we made
Love remains
So, please, don't you ever just leave
Because this place
Distance means how far I am
From this place
Here lies my center Earth
And nothing gets better than this
Us, dear
It's the only home that I know
Tired may these magnet hearts be
They'll return to love one day, see

Дякую тобі! 💐🙏💘❤🩹💙💛
The song talks about home base, resting place, nesting place, point of origin, home, in spite of breakups, divergence, longing and loneliness.
We may leave our home base, but circumstances will somehow force us to go back to where we truly belong.
You may say, "It's love, the greatest of all."
Very true
Wow what a beautiful explanation.
Wow I'm crying.
It brings back all the memories 😭😭😭
your take on the last part of the song brings out the essence of the last episode which made the song much more significant in the series...

And then the part where they danced and kissed, Ride 'Home' was playing. "So I'm coning home to you"... Vlad is Karl's "home", his safe space.
"Magbabalik ang pagmamahal, magbabalik ka pa ba mahal"

Between our fights, teases and unscrupulousness

Because it is here where we can measure the distance, the center of the world, and nothing can compare

May pag-ibig pa rin
_There will be love still_
'Wag ka nang umalis'
_Please don't leave_
Chorus:
Dahil dito, dito nasusukat ang layo
_Because here, it's here where we can measure the distance_
Ang sentro nitong daigdig
_To the center of this world_
Wala nang makadadaig
_Nothing else can surpass_
Sa 'tin, sa 'tin pa rin ang uwi
_To 'us', it is to 'us' where we'll return home_
Batubalani'y pusong pagal
_The magnet (guide) will be our weary hearts_
Magbabalik ang pagmamahal
_Love will return_
iii:
May tawanan na tutuldukan ng yakap, halik
_Our laughters will be paused with hugs, [and] kisses_
May pag-ibig pa rin 'pag ika'y nagbalik
_There's still love once you return_
(Repeat Chorus)
Ayun, naintindihan ko na yung metaphor ng batubalani, maraming salamat! 😭
And in the end it goes
Magbabalik ang pagmamahal
Love will still return
Magbabalik ang pagmamahal
Love will still return
Magbabalik ka pa ba mahal?
Love, will you still return?
💔💔💔
Thank you for translating.....the way I am sobbing harder....
I don't see how Pinoy BL would not become as famous as Thai ones ;) Spreading the word and sharing is all that's needed! Go Philippines ;D

Kilometer zeros
1st zero - It began with a serendipitous meeting somewhere in Malate.
OwemJee bakit ngayon kalang lumabas Ian? 😭😭😭😭
Hats off to such great talent, ang linis at kalma ng voice atsaka yung voice quality 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 not your typical ballad song
Ang astig ni IAN. Ang warm ng tone ng boses niya. Galing din ni Ms. PAT. Ang ganda ng arrangement. Ang ganda ng lyrics. Hanga na talaga ako kay JMS.

I don't understand any word but his voice and the lyrics touch my heart ♥. Ian has a poetic voice and the power to transmit the feelings of the song. Plus he's young , handsome, funny and kind and most important a awesome actor and singer ❤ to Ian.

This song is so beautiful. I don’t understand a single word, but I still feel the whole thing perfectly well. God it’s just beautiful.
In [ ] are phrases and words that are not really included, but implied in the Tagalog lyrics.
Please bear with me. It's very difficult to do a literal translation while staying faithful to the contextual and implied meaning of the lyrics and the emotion and message it conveys.
Here it goes:
And if this is how we will be saying goodbye
[Our love] will fade in time, painfully slow
[I] will carve our names on a tree
So when we get lost, we have somewhere to return to
Through petty fights and banters
Or intemperance
Our love can stand still,
Please don't leave [or give up on it]
Chorus:
Coz this is the origin with which we measure the distance [we've journeyed apart]
The center of [our] universe
Nothing will ever come close [to what we had]
[What we had] will always remain home [for both of us]
Magnetic are [our] tired hearts
[And] will [someday] return to love
[Our] good times may be ending
With kisses and embrace
My love persists
Awaiting your return
(Repeat chorus)
This masterpiece should be sung out loud in Wish Bus 107.5!
The composition of lyrics, arrangements, the voice of Ian Pangilinan and over all of the music itself is beyond perfection! Love it! I'll add this to my playlist right away.
I wanna listen to this song on loop, while I'm riding a car at night while drizzle hits my windscreen shutters and Aircon hits my body and there is a peaceful ambience. ❤️
