- This track cannot beat the original version but I think it is still quite nice. I imagine Rin looking down from the rooftop on a cold winter night when I listen to this version.
Now that I think of it, I watched the anime only for Kenji Kawai... :P
*For those who don't understand why many Fate fans dislike the anime:
When it was aired the anime was widely panned by fans (including myself) because of its lame animation, character characterisations and fight scenes. Its reputation got even worse after the airing of the better produced Ufotable version. However recently the series is being re-evaluated and most fans agree that it has a superior soundtrack compared with later Fate anime series thanks to Kenji Kawai.
Personally, I don't really care for the anime adaptations since I am a VN fan through and through.

I imagine Saber standing in a wide green field in armor and sword with her dress flowing freely in the wind XD
This version of Fate/Stay Night from Studio Deen is my favorite, even if others claim Ufotable's Unlimited Blade Works series is supposed to be better. Saber was a magnificent heroine in this and the entire OST was mesmerizing and astounding.
Saber didn't open up as much as she should have, so as to see more human and approachable in her route.
Look at the evidence. Shirou got hurt so much for her sake throughout Deen's adaptation, and how does she repay his suffering and willingness to protect and understand her during their date? By staying stone-faced throughout much of it and not coming to an understanding with him until he pulls out his secret weapon during the first fight with Gilgamesh.
Even through all this, Kenji Kawai impeccable soundtrack stands on its own, the only downfall being that many of his themes are too short for many listeners to really appreciate them, and some of them (such as the Sword of Promised Victory theme) being straight copies of the original VN OST.
Well, Saber comes from another world, from another time period so I'm not sure changing her up so much to make her more "human" would be appropriate. After all, she's not a normal girl. She's a king, someone who cannot allow herself to get emotional over her duties. Personally, I like her just fine that way. As for Shirou getting hurt in the Fate Route, I think that has a lot to do with his own ideals and overprotectiveness towards Saber(who actually is so much more powerful than he himself is).
I suppose it's not fair to say, because I have never played the VN, and haven't seen the Heaven's Feel route, but I currently prefer the Fate route to UBW. I had heard so many people talk trash about it's production quality, but I actually enjoyed it more for the story, considering I watched UBW first, followed by Fate/Zero. I loved that it was more Saber centric as well.
+Divine Aria The DEEN anime seemed to make her look bored and unused to modern entertainments like an aquarium and movie theatre. Maybe she would have preferred to see something more "period-appropriate" for her medieval origins like street buskers and live theatre performances. Besides, seeing Saber's more emotional side would humanize her, but we only got a glimpse of that when she saw that lion plushie, and that gets thrown away during their talk on the bridge, the same bridge that we later find out where she destroyed Fate/Zero's sea monster.
The Fate route was even sometimes called "Fate/Stay in the Kitchen" given Shirou's habits in it.
+Dan Eskeli If you prefer the Saber route, brace yourself when you see Heaven's Feel. As for the DEEN anime's production quality, tell the detractors it was from 2006, and that if they have a problem they might want to close their eyes to listen to Kenji Kawai's excellent music and the voice acting instead.
Based, thank you for uploading.
honestly wish we could have a "remake" of sorts for the fate route, the anime didnt do the visual novel justice
I’d be fine with it if they kept this opening
The black shadows that I saw
Of that day I seen in my dreams
None of their cries could reach out to me
It seems now that no matter what
The “me” I see of tomorrow
Is drenching in wishes that will not lose their hues
The scattered fragments with reflected glow
Catch them with both of those hands
Hold my swaying heart before it’s too late
And leap toward the night that never ends
Even though I depend on someone
There is nothing else that I wish for and that's because
My true self is right here for you to see, on display
Don't close your eyes or look away
That smile you wore on your face
Blow in the cold winds of dusk
Caught in the waste and burnt out its hope
Right now it seems that no matter what
Praying for the “me” of tomorrow
The answers in the distance are still fading out of view
This frozen body that shivers here all alone
With these flakes of hidden feelings
Before they rot away like molded debris
Leap past the night that's thicker than stone
Even though I depend on someone
There is nothing else that I wish for and that's because
My true self is right here for you to see, on display
Don't close your eyes or look away
To live just for someone else' sake
This moment may count for everything, say isn't that so?
Gently cast aside your fake self you knew yesterday
And just be who you are today (www.wattpad.com/story/185979380-disillusion)
Now that Mahoyo is coming out would you consider writing lyrics for fan favorite instrumental tracks like First Star?
2:25 to 2:30 always gets me
The first episode of Smash King brought me here
Ahhh… I see you’re a person of culture as well.
Reminds me of Ragnarok Online and Final Fantasy :)
