Excellent video. I love your creativity. Another thing the intarsia Carriage will allow you to do, is to knit two sides of a neck at once. Or knitting the back and front or both sleeves at the same time (garment size depending). It is really a useful carriage.
This was just crazy to watch. I loved it. I had no idea you can do two carriages on your machine at the same time. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you for such a great video.
@AnnaHaferman oh thats good to know. Could you then do the two sides of a v neck at the same time or could you only do say two socks at the same time?

If you have two regular carriages, it's probably just as easy either way. I only have one main carriage for the LK 150 so the intarsia method is the easiest for me.
Anna, estoy muy agradecida por haber encontrado este video tan maravillosamente explicado. También porque tiene subtitulos en español. Desde ahora puedo usar mis carros de manera más efectiva. 😊😊😊

Thank you so much for this video. I clicked your links to purchase several items (including the cartridge!). You can buy more yarn and make more videos now :-)
Hello Anna, Brilliant! What yarn are you using? I have boxes of 8-3 ply yarn. I bought the LK150 and I am knitting scarves and beanies for needy kids. Problem with that yarn is that it curls both ways. Now I am thinking of buying the intarsia carriage. Would that yarn be suitable? Here I must say; was given a skein of black 8 ply and I started knitting a scarf 60 stitches wide on tension 4 on my LK150. It curled so bad it removed itself from the needles in the middle of the row. I only had weights on the ends. Really like the way you demonstrate the carriage, will buy one now. Regards, JennyB.
@@JennyB-oj6sk This was DK weight yarn. Stockinette always curls. You have to sew seams to make it flat. So if you make a scarf you knit it twice as wide as you want it to be then sew the sides together to make a tube.
Hello Anna, Success! Knitted a scarf, 20 rows green, 6 rows white, 4 rows red then two rows of bobbles. The rest in red. At the other end I reversed that process. Thanks lots for the video. Don't know how to show you that. Tried to buy you a coffee but it does not work for me. JennyB.
Very interesting! Could you show how to do Houndstooth with the intarsia carriage? I would assume that would help keep the floats from being so aggravating. Thank you for all your videos!
It would be a lot more work to do houndstooth with intarsia carriage. You would need a separate ball of yarn for each color change. What is the problem you are having with floats?
@@AnnaHaferman thank you for answering! I’m trying to do a baby blanket and I was hoping to do a houndstooth pattern but I realized that it wouldn’t be good to have all the floats on a blanket for a baby. I was hoping the intarsia method would keep me from having them. Maybe I could just use the houndstooth for a pillow and then it wouldn’t matter. Again, thank you so much for answering my question.
You could make the back in soft cotton cos babies love to nibble and suck on blankets so while my mom gave me lots of lovely crotchet and knit things they were pretty but we never actually put them near the baby. Cotton jersey was the closet to a knit we put on her bed. And we used the knits for the pram cover so he couldnt suck on the yarn 😂 maybe thays just my baby. Hes 17 and still nibbles his sleeves at school! 😂@angieallen7363
I don't know how much the bobbins hold. There are different sizes of bobbin so if you need a small amount of one color you can use a small one and a larger one for bigger color blocks. You need as many bobbins as color changes in a given row. If you are changing from red to white to red to white you would need 4 for that row.
@@AnnaHaferman Does this mean that to knit a snowball beanie I would need about 10 or 12? Maybe even more? This gets exciting. Quote "Junk always expands to fill the available space!" 🙄🙄😊😊 Thank you for your help, Regards JennyB.

Hello again Anna, I have bought the intarsia carriage, it has yet to arrive. When you try to make a checker board pattern say 5 x 5 stitches in red and white over 120 stitches do you need a separate bobbin for each of the squares? JennyB.
@@JennyB-oj6sk Yes, you would for the first row. Then you will be able to use the same ones for the next row. Also, if you want the checkerboard to be square you will probably have to make the squares 5 stitches x 7 rows. You should definitely try a swatch first.
Hello Again, Thanks lots for the information. I have now knitted 6 scarves, 60 stiches wide and 320 rows long. That is heavy for a little one. To go to 120 stitches wide I may have to open the tension to 6 or 7 and reduce the row number. Have to knit the matching beanies now. 🙄🙄 Thanks again for your comments, much appreciated.
