They should have a parody of the logo when the man paints Kenny McCormick (from South Park) yellow, then the man hammered his head, turning into a yellow circle before it light up.
No., trying to be informative, but I heard they only made pre-cert VHS tapes from around 1983 to 1984 actually, maybe also after the 1984 video recording acts, but I found it I found information about it's VHS releases on a website, it only featured all of their pre-cert releases, so they might of released VHS tapes after 1984, who knows. Also the early 3M video logo might just be a prototype or at least some French knockoff company before 3M actually did made their own video division.
The first logo is from Europe and it's unknown if who made the logo and used 2 songs by the same artist, especially the "zooming inside a hole" animation is also stolen
The animation isn't really that bad. It's choppy yeah, but at the very least the frames used actually convey the story really well, like the seemingly 2 to 4 people behind this had to carefully pick out which frames to actually draw to best convey what is happening onscreen. Plus the art style is very unique & eyecatching as well, sort of a Cosgrove Hall meets Hanna-Barbera meets Antonio Prohias & they somehow managed to blend all styles together to make such a fascinating looking logo. Not to mention they probably didn't even have much of a budget to begin with, likely about 5 to 6 pounds were put into this(considering this was made before the video rating act of 1984) & they dang sure made good use out of every pound right here!
@nightmarenever 78 Aside from the comment you mentioned, Imation (the media storage division of the tape company) spun-off as a separate company and is located not too far from the 3M building in Minnesota whose other companies include Target Corporation and TPT (Twin Cities Public Television)
The animation frame-rate isn’t great but I do love the creativity and the music. In fact, I think it’s the music that saved the logo.
This Man Look Like Lab Assistant for Dr Neo Cortex from Crash Bandicoot
( 0:09 😂)
THIS LOOKS AND SOUNDS LIKE A GENE DIECH TOM AND JERRY CARTOON MADE IN THE 80'S
Beautiful U.K. Logo so aww thank goodness
The animation looks like from a late 80’s to 90’s cartoon.

The music kinda gives me Homestar Runner vibes.
Taken from the Scotchy Making of Duct Tape (1984)
This animation looked like from the french in my opinion.
The animation sucks. but the music is interesting.

@@bentonwiser7468 It's a French knockoff company, or possibly just a coincidence. Either one I can believe.

remember I was a stupid teenager when writing this so everything "sucked" to me
Why does the art style kind of remind me of johnny test? (especially the guy that was WHAMMING the pillar)
its just the cartoon scientist look
It's scary
The cylinder is my stress and anxiety the guy with the hammer is me
Hey mario
I'm smashing my problems away
The cylinder represents stress and anxiety and the hammer is good vibes
You gotta be kidding me...
why is this scary? i don't see scariness at all.
Because it's NOT, people just call any logo scary these days.
