Great video, well made - I appreciate you splicing in images of whats going on. Be careful, too much criticism and CGC are going to sue you for that cap back at this rate.
I'm not a slab person, have about 7, (more by accident than design) but I have been thinking about sending around 20 of my books to be graded so I can appear on a certain slabs show sometime in the future, but looking at the state of the slab market at the moment, will definitely be waiting until next year to make a decision!
@@Deadman1957TEB Terry definitely wait for next year. Appreciate you watching and look forward to seeing you get those books slabs for the only slabs video 👍
@@MJComix Some saving will have to be done first, but have cut my subs, found myself buying books just to keeping runs going but not actually enjoying reading them!
MJ thank you for the great video. The lawsuit will work itself out. The important community issue that has arisen in this legal case are sub grades for comics, and in my opinion: a hard no, with an exception for signatures. The comic grading system, while imperfect to some, has set standards accepted by collectors, for good and bad. Sub grades look like a “money grab” to set additional standards after years of accepted parameters and establish new ones. This move being considered by grading companies should be rejected by the collecting community as it is a blatant cash grab to force new standards. Comics are not cards. Thank you for hearing my opinion.
@@JSSBrooklyn appreciate your very valid opinion. I don’t like the sub grades. I had warmed to CBCS for their banana gate videos but I’m a put off now. Thanks so much for watching 👍
I didn’t know about this banana-gate issue till watching this video, two of my CGC slabs are definitely affected by it. Probably too much to expect CGC to offer a free re-holder. Personally I’m quite tempted to start using CBCS but the UK doesn’t seem to have any facilitators that I’m aware of.
@@breakingadam1138 ah man I’m so sorry you found a couple of books with the issue. I think they might offer free re holder but they don’t press for free. Yeah I can’t think of anyone in the UK doing CBCS submissions. Thank you for watching 👍
Done with CGC. I have switched to CBCS as of about a month ago. Got into CGC because that is where the higher dollar resale sits but I have seen to many issues over the past year to want my books preserved by them. I only have a few CBCS slabs so far and I like their slab better. Feels better overall. Screw resale value. I want my books flat and eye appealing and CBCS seems like the ticket for me. Big time collectors can keep spending their big bucks on their CGC bananas and scandals and crap cases. I will save the money and score some good slabs at a good price.
@@MJComix Not much. He's a fake nice guy just like Lunch Money Comics. Happy to go out there and offer others next to nothing for their valuable stuff.
My opinion probably holds little value at the moment as I’m new to this hobby but it seems like it’s worth holding onto my comics and wait to get them graded next year. Sounds like if CGC wanna stay in the running they have a lot of work to do
Joshua, your opinion definitely matters bud. You’ve come to a very logical conclusion that it’s best to wait. Hopefully CGC sorts themselves out or I may be giving PSA a chance. Appreciate you watching 👍
Hi James, I think you're wrong about CBCS. It's not them being petty. They are taking the two former employees to court for basically stealing. It doesn't matter if it's future business ideas or slab designs or even customer books it's a form of theft. Those employees signed NDA's to not disclose anything they knew about while working for the company, but they have allegedly been caught copying and sending company emails to their home accounts. I would say it's probably good business practice to protect future buisness ideas from falling into the hands of your competitors.

CBCS really needs to focus on Customer service and leave the mudslinging to the politicians
