THE SAME AS Paul Ryder who died just weeks after the you tube series about him and happy Mondays done by his ex wife who was a journo who worked for MTG in the early 90s.
That poor, poor man. He was a genius. Nobody understood that. Jimi was a genius. Everyone was out for a piece of him, and continued to pressure him for their part of the action. If I could today jump into a time machine, I would go back to the day he was with Monika taking photos and drinking tea. I would immediately inform Jimi that I had come from the future to save him and why. I would have taken him to his flat, collected a couple of his favorite guitars, and then taken him to somewhere like Scarborough on the coast. He would have remained there to relax and re-charge for at least six months, and I would have paid. When he re-emerged he would have been back to the real Jimi. Noel Redding was totally correct. That is what Jimi needed. Rest, good food, and the rebuilding of his body from the inside out free from drugs. That is what Jimi needed. Jimi needed taking care of. But instead all he got was the loss of true friends that were out to protect him, like Kathy Etchingham, and a surround of friends who were in the main hangers on and those who were out to exploit him and promote his drug habit. People who were only interested in themselves at the expense of Jimi. Poor Jimi. Poor, poor Jimi. It could have been so different.
Totally get your sentiment, however Mitch Mitchell was always at pains to emphasize that Jimi was anything but a tragic figure, an extraordinary mimic and humorous, not to mention the music. Thanks contrbution!
I'm an experienced Time Rider . It's just like surfing Across the Atlantic. I would love be your driver . And possibly move you and Hendrix to another timeline to get away from Mike Jefferies and His mugs, where Jimi Hendrix could part Ways with Jefferies. I believe you would need a team and Hendrix historians . It would be Wise.
As a 40 year fan of Jimi I find this to be the best documentary series that I've come across. No frills, no bells & whistles or other unnecessary embellishments, just the facts - generally as stated by the participants themselves. The minutiae, mundanity, boredom, disappointments and occasional triumphs of constantly touring are conveyed simply and brilliantly. Thank you for putting together this permanent record of what is, in my opinion anyway, the greatest period in rock music.
i absolutely love the series but must say that while i don't want to give michael jeffries credit for anything, opening for the monkees in 1967 is not the worst thing that could have been suggested. it didn't work out for various reasons and jimi moved on. i was 7 when jim croce died (not to equate jim with jimi) but imagine the chance to see the monkees (serious musicians or not) and hendrix at that age would have changed my life forever.
@@marcyfan-tz4wj To be fair, Jeffries' unscrupulousness actually paid off on that occasion! The furore caused by such an obvious mismatch of acts (I'd be surprised if much of it wasn't actively encouraged, or even created, by Jeffries) generated a lot of publicity. Coming off the back of his introduction at Monterey I imagine it sealed Jimi's 'sexual' image in the minds of the American public. And it's never bad for business to be seen as the outrageous Wild Man Of Rock! At the risk of sounding like a nerdy show-off (🤓😆), I actually got to see The Monkees in the UK on a reunion tour in the 80s. I have no idea how good they were live and in person in the 60s, but I can tell you that those gentlemen could most certainly play by then! Peter Tork playing a self-penned classical piece on a two-tiered organ is still ingrained in my memory nearly forty years later!
go ahead and be a nerdy show-off! i was dumb enough to think they'd be around forever and never made an effort to see them. the idea that you wouldn't get to see "the wild man of rock" because your mother didn't approve of him and hendrix would only be around for 38 more months boggles the mind.@@ramsey6681
Thanks, had a few technical issues which forced a second version which, I sought of rushed. Already working on the next and it will be better still! Cheers
I like each episode a little more with each release. Very cool, Bro! Even a few pics I don't remember seeing. I didn't think there could be any I haven't seen. Thumbs up, of course.
You're welcome. Had some technical issues that delayed things. Due to problems had to scrap initial video and redo, so art and pictures are not as elaborate as originally planned! Hope you like!
So great to hear the fine details of Jimi and the Experience's life. Real life instead of sensationalism. "The Monkees- we want the Monkees". Who is this "Jimi Hendrix" anyway? "Vulgar"! Peter Tork was the man! All of the Monkees were mad about Jimi and watched every set he played. Jimi just has the coolest and beautiful clothes. Psychedelic, retro, vintage, antique; great artistic taste.
Hey Hey We're The Monkees. Imagine the life long stories those people had that attended those shows. The Monkees probably became less relevant and Jimi became legendary in the stories told about I saw The Jimi Hendrix Experience when I was nine.
Hey, hey to you too! I had quite a but more Monkees material, including audience/fan accounts which ended up editing out. Didn't want the ptogram to be too Monkees focused. Did you see the video in the commun ity tab, Monkes visit Australia? Cheers
Jimi has always been the guitarist I've looked up to, since I was a kid. I listen to these videos and the help put me to sleep, it's relaxing and very inspiring hearing all these stories, thinking so I may channel some Hendrix energy for tomorrow. Thank you for these videos 😁
These video's are packed with so much detail and of course the great photos to enhance them all. Thank You So Much for doing this for us Jimi Hendrix fans they are very much appreciated!!! Cheers
You are so welcome! While the general story is well known, it's the day to day that's often more fascinating, and totally love to locate and share Jimi's majestic imagery! Cheers
These are the best videos on UA-cam about the wonderful but short life of the magnificent Jimi Hendrix. I look forward to these videos. Thanks for adding a rays of sunshine in my life. You are definitely Experienced.
Wrong, I plan to deal with it in due course, that is when we get to Sept 1970. My philosophy with this Channel is to to tell the story which, takes account of different recollections, opinions and theories. Cheers
July 2nd at The whiskey is the 1st photo of Jimi using a Wah. Also the photo from the US Electric Ladyland cover was taken there. So that reel to reel from June '67 with Wah on it....? Paul Caruso was also in the Zappa album photo. The 1st photo of Jimi playing his 1st of 3 Flying Vs was opening for The Monkees. Also of note is at Monterey and with The Monkees are the only photos of Jimi wearing a headband until 1969.
What a line up that 1st gig in July 67 Moby grape (love that 1st grape lp and skip Spence one of their Songwrighter and singer guitarist I recommend researching him ) strawberry alarm clock as well is there any recording of that ?.
Apologies for that. It has been pointed out, clearly that slipped past the keeper. With the greatest of respect, one needs to view it in perspective. You can of it what you will. Best wishes!
Okay. Good series but sounds like a computer generated voice with the mispronunciation of Sgt. and Greenwich. Also, Peter Nesmith is a mixture of 2 Monkees names
There was a guitar player who had more influence on guitar playing than any guitar player 50 years before him and 50 years after him, and at times he played a tad sloppy. Its precious!
@@randykalish7558 Yes a famous classic guitarist said that in a recent re discovered interview but in what way sloppy i sence a bit what i mean -the lower bass notes he played when coming back down technically ive heard as well.

the monkees were better then Jimi. more great songs. putting down the monkees is putting down great music. They had producers, writers, musicians from the most successful circles. Jealousy about the monkeees glory is still heard. The kids , yeen girls especially, know what they like. they liked and were right the monkees blew Jimi off the stage. These videos will come to be known as the definitive videography of Jimi Hendrix.
