Hi Sandra, I found this video very informative, and I’m hoping you can provide some guidance. I recently graduated with a BS in IT this past April and have been actively looking for a position in the tech field for the past few months. My most recent role was as a remote Systems Administrator for a startup, where I worked for 1.5 years before being laid off due to the company closing. Before that, I spent a year as a Service Desk Analyst. My ultimate goal is to transition into cybersecurity, but I’m struggling to land an entry-level position in the field. I currently hold the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certification, but many roles seem to require multiple certifications. I’ve taken steps like reaching out to recruiters, networking on LinkedIn, and ensuring my resume is ATS-approved (it has been double-checked by recruiters), but even landing help desk roles has become a challenge. What would you suggest as the best path forward to break into cybersecurity? Thanks in advance for your advice!
learn SOC Analyst and do labs. mostly everything is free in youtube. and keep atleast 3y experience as SOC Analyst in latest company. attend interviews, fail and attend again by learning from before. you'll get it.
Hello Sandra! What are your thoughts on tech jobs especially with AI coming, I would like to hear if it's a right time to risk my job in manufacturing area and change to tech, thanks!
Everything feels so insurmountable without a degree, a lot of cyber professionals I met got their opportunities through college. I've started numerous different training, but it seems like it'll never be enough almost.
Great stuff Sandra!!💪🏻 Random question: Would you ever do a video on how much you make as a cybersecurity youtuber? It’s Interesting to see how this could be a potential career avenue in comparison to a traditional 9-5
Hi Sandra, please which of cybersecurity career does not really need too much of coding apart from these ones you just mentioned. Are there other careers in cybersecurity??
Hi Sandra, I'm in my late 40's and want a career change from dental to cyber security and looking into different boot camps. I been watching all your videos and the info has been great! What would you recommend for entry level. I been in dental for 28 years and I'm very tired of it! I want a new change and adventure. I'm always the go to person when the stuff needs computer help! Any recommendations would be great! Thank you
I love your videos and the information you provide. I want to learn Cyber Security but don't know what program is the best and affordable. I'm on a fixed income. Plus I worry about my age. I'm currently 54 yrs old don't know if I should even consider doing it.. Getting overwhelmed here just to find an affordable program/course..
Hey Sandra, I believe your videos are informational, but either because you speak too fast or your video has been chopped too tight and leaving no breath, I couldn't lingually or psychologically follow very well. Hope you understand that.
Just graduated but I am from non tech background but I am in a cybersecurity program. So what the useful things for me like soc , entry level analyst , ccp or something else
I just quit my job last week I'm planning on studying for and taking the COMPTIA A+ so that I can land a job in IT ,I do not have a college degree, can you make a video explaining what steps you would take right now if you were someone with no IT experience and no degree trying to breach into IT and eventually land a cybersecurity engineering job
@@MistuhParkerYou should not just have just up and quit your job is all I’m saying because you have ZERO experience or knowledge and this is a very competitive field. However, instead of being curious and asking more questions, you got emotional and defensive. These are not good traits to have in Cyber and as a hiring manager in an IT dept, there are too many good candidates to pick from already.
What is your dream cybersecurity job?

thanks!
Thank you for channel! Great advice. You're very intelligent and concise.
Thanks so much! Really glad this can be helpful :)
Hmmmm, I didn't hear any mention of a GRC Analyst. I would have thought for sure it would be on this list.
Same thought fr!
Thought the same.
Maybe not in as high demand?
It should be high up there, though.
The industry prefer those with both GRC, technical skills wit a some knowledge of coding.
Uhmmm, that's not really true, and even if it was, that still has nothing whatsoever to do with why it wasn't included on the list.

Hello Sandra, could you make a video on what you do on a daily basis? Like showing your tools, examples of how to use them etc.

Step 1: don’t quit your day job
Step 2: do your own research
Step 3: build a home lab
@lendumore step 4: don't read the comments

You forgot the last role "UA-camr". No practical knowledge needed. Don't even have to have done any courses to promote them. lol. sad. But funny also.
