  • Sam Peters talks with Giles Johnson, who took on an epic North Atlantic rowing challenge in support of Headway - the brain injury association, and double Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell.
Giles Johnson, 60, from Drayton, Somerset, and his friend Matthew Ponsonby from London, set off in their boat, Hurricane, from St John's in Newfoundland, Canada, on June 22, 2023.
From there, the duo rowed to Dingle, Co Kerry, on the West Coast of Ireland, travelling more than 1700 nautical miles and battling stormy seas. On route, they spotted giant icebergs, awe-inspiring sunsets, and sea life aplenty.
The pair finished the epic journey in 36 days, 11 hours and 30 minutes.
