I still have a silky silver 2006 Vxi variant which I bought brand new from the showroom back then, completed 15 years and now running on a renewed RC for another 5 more years. It still takes me on my 700+ KM journey from Bangalore to my hometown without breaking a sweat. It is still my only car, my daily driver, mile muncher and my pocket rocket :D

@@eminempathak Depends on where you live. I had no issues finding spares in Bangalore City. Else boodmo is another option. I have sold the car 6 months ago. What I have now is a 2008 Volkswagen Golf R32 with the VR6 engine.
We had this car for 14 long years, and I got to drive one for a short distance recently. That engine is such a beast, G16B is a true gem

Owned 5 Balenos in the past , its crazy the 2nd gear 105 and the 3rd gear 165 it can still give competition to new age cars !!
Few days back in one of the baleno forum I post that my car cutting off it’s 3rd gear in 160 which i posted just for query then few just born kids who Baught baleno few days back asking and making fun of me saying that it’s impossible it can’t reach 160 in 3rd gear 140-145 is maximum blah blah they asking for a video which I shoot in few days and post there to show how capable is baleno 1.6 they are just underestimating the power of this beast

Singh Saab: When my friend who owns wheel balancing and tyre shop, I took the car to him. It was in remote location in Haryana. I told him this one goes pass 100 in 2nd gear. He laughed at me as his Scorpio and I20 diesel couldn't do that. He bet with me for 5K Rs. I asked him to take the test ride but warned about brakes. He again laughed. He came back after 15~20 minutes. He came out of the car and held his hands on head in wonder with mouth opened. Ohhh! BC....Ye kya rocket hai bhai.

I love this car and I had run it at 135 speed during my road trip to Bhutan . I drived 6500 kms in 15 days. From Gujarat to Bhutan. It's a bison beleno for me.

I have a 2007 VXI Model. One of the last probably before the car was discontinued. It's exactly now 15 Years Old in May 2022. Run 60 thousand kms. I think she'd be good to go for another 5 years.
only issue is getting spare parts

Hi. I have been binge watching your video.
When you go at such speeds, take care of the tyre rating. I think you know this that tyres have load and speed rating given next to the tyre profile.
So some tyres aren't meant to exceed a certain speed. If done for long duration it can burst. So just take care about that. And also engine could burst at high rpms for long duration. Other than that, you are a good driver. Just thought i should let you know about the tyre speed rating. Cause tyre bursting would be disastrous.

G-series engines from Suzuki are love, such a thoaty exhaust note, so high revving, when soneone says baleno, this is the baleno that comes to my mind, honestly the new baleno hatch is a disgarce to its name.

I had this car till 2017. I touched 200 many times. But the Car completely losses control over brakes above 100.

You need to use brake pad retainers .. just like in old swift the brake pads have an outer cover.. you will get those covers in sumitomo brake pads .. then you will see the braking it won't brake a sweat even in 180 .

The major problem is the yearly insurance. Its a little much since it is 1.6.

I am out looking out to buy a car for my family and personal use.
We have never owned one and my personal interest is in Baleno (old model) though I don't know driving or much about cars but I like this one.
As you have one, can you guide me on buying the same beast like what has to be checked and look once before buying it.
And can you please let me know what will be the cost as well
first of all, its great to know that you are planning to buy an old baleno. its a great car of course.
points to check
1. as baleno having very low ground clearance. have a proper checkup in the underbody parts with the help of a ramp or a lift.
2. in rare cases power steering leaking issues are reported
3. don't go for an average condition car for a lower price. bcs the spares of old baleno's are mostly SGP( suzuki genuine parts) which is very expensive but lasts long.
4. check the rear wheel bearing. just bsc i have 2 old baleno's .and have changed on both the cars
otherwise its a fantastic car to own . so all the best
