In this video Civils.ai (civils.ai/) explains how to design a simple excavation in 5 minutes. This video gives a beginners lesson on drained analysis of excavations. This analysis is performed with Eurocode 7 guidance, covering Design Approach 1 + Combination 1 and Design Approach 2. The bearing, sliding and bending resistance of an excavation is analysed. The same approach can be used for strutted excavations to calculate waler loads and loading in the wall itself.
