- Dr. Joan Freeman was one of the founders of ECHA, The European Council for High Ability. It is a fascinating story about Russians, the fall of the Berlin wall, luxury hotels, money, Bulgaria and gifted children. Founded in 1988, ECHA is still going strong and it now represents a group of well-informed and well-trained professionals in the field of giftedness.
