Great job Mr Sam l have been detailing cars for 40 years and you showed me something new l subscribed to your channel looking forward to learning more have a great day keep on doing what you do
Had a hummer H2 with a huge orange peel repaint. Looked like the buffer was a lawnmower turned on it’s side. I had to do every inch of that thing about 4 times. The guy “a friend” fought me on the price “after the fact” and I lost a customer and a friend over it. Always be very clear about your motives and what people exactly want. Cause it will burn you. Great lesson Sam.
Dang Sam You need to be careful telling people to hit their clearcoat with 800. I never used more than 1000, and even with 1000, you can sand straight through the clearcoat if you don't know what you are doing. I finish sand my primer with 800 if I am using a water-base base coat. I normally stick to 1200, 1500, 2000, 3000, and 5000. I use the 3m heavy cut and a wool pad at high speed to knock it down fast and step down from there. With the wool pad at high speed, you still need to be extremely careful because you can burn straight through the corners, especially if the paint is hot.
I need a good polishing the car only has very light scratches. I do t know what Pads to use or compound? Can you help me out Mr. Sam!!? Thanks brother!! Going to get a dewalt cordless orbital polisher
I use light polish with medium grade pad. The polisher I use is a Black and Decker Random Orbital polisher. There are other ones on the market also that are great. I run it on speed 6.
@mr.sam-feeltheshine5291 can you post a link for a variety pack of pads and the black and decker you use? Thanks so much for responding your the man Mr. Sam!!💯💪
Could we see you actually sanding it because I was thinking you were using a orbital sander to sand it down with because that’s orbital sanding pad you showed but then you were talking about wrapping it out a piece of wood so you don’t get finger marks is that only in the corners? Seeing you do it, we can get a feel for how long you’re doing it and how quickly you’re moving around to not burn through I know how to sand wood real good but I’ve never sanded a car
I have a black car and i was unfortunately bombed by a couple bats in recent months. Not sure what they were eating in regards to fruit but their poop is basically acid. In the span of one night it ate clean through the paint in several spots. I cleaned it off with dish soap a bunch and where i cleaned still managed to eat into the clear coat. Been a bit scared to get it painted as i doubt they can just patch the roof and boot lid and have it blended well. From my very limited experience with paint i figure they'd have to do the whole roof and boot. It's black with blue flecks up close. Any advice? Do i need to rob a bank to go to the best shop or find a shop that can blend well 😢
Now if my bad luck would let me be I would be working on it ( no appendix or gallbladder, kidney cancer survivor, lyme disease that was transmitted 1 day after I purchased my house, and not 1 but 5 strokes and I'm only 37, but I'll keep fighting , sorry for the rant
@@erickbernard8208 holy guacamole friend. What a ride you've been on. Here's to hoping it's smoother moving forward and you get to work on that car more. Those driver specific montes were always cool. Take care, watch your diet, it's crazy what they're allowed to feed us. You may already know all about that so I won't elaborate unless asked. Hope you're doing well 😎
If I had to guess, it's got a lot to do with his experience and control, Sam may have more hours of finishing(edit: maybe it's refinishing? I realized I'm unsure of the correct terminology) experience than I've been alive (sleep included) I wouldn't be surprised if that was true. 800 sounds scary to me, but I don't know jack diddly about it. I just like Sam and learning stuff 😂 I figure if I watch him enough I'll get the brass ones to start trying some stuff eventually haha

I am taking your advice on my 05 Tony Stewart monte carlo ss ( it was my moms who passed away 7 years ago )

Step 1: Call Sam.
Getting ready to respray my engine swapped 2000 rav4. No amount of magic touch will save her the clear coat is gone 😢
Experience can’t be taught
I'm shocked that you go all the way down to 800 grit. I thought 1500 was about as coarse as you'd go for paint correction.

Yeah if you dont know what you are doing dont try it with 800 you will sand straight through your clearcoat.
