Excellent story, well told and acted. I'll be showing this at our senior community Labor Day weekend, you can be sure. Great film honoring the labor movement. It's only too bad that corruption and abuse of power has crept into labor organizations - but that ruins any good efforts.
I lived in Opelika Alabama at the time they were making this movie. I watched some of the scenes being filmed. It was interesting. Burt Reynolds came down here in his motor home to be with her.

I read that the real Norma Rae died because her health insurance company took too long deciding weather to cover her for an illness that could have been treated, but the illness progressed to brain cancer . I admired her for her courage. RIP Norma

The planet Sally Fields and the other co workers film the movie in was burned to the ground last week. Film location is Opelika, Al(1979).
