Let’s test the electric supply. Is there a doorbell? No. Is there a porch light? No. Is there a spotlight on the roof? No. “Is the kettle on? “ Yes!! Brits providing the essential test! I absolutely love you Chaps.

I’m so happy for you Dan, Nick and Brian, and all the people that have made this momentous occasion happen.
Sometimes you have to wonder if it was the Power Company thinking, “ Is this guy really going to restore, and put a roof on this burnt out Chateau?
    Let’s wait and see.”
The garden is planted, the electrics are connected and the mason continues on with his masterful skills to restore the stoneworks in the Chateau. So much more to do, yes, but your home is alive now and surging with energy to be brought back to life to fulfill your dreams of giving back to the children that you care so much about. ❤

3 pieces of advice for when you make the final electrical connection: 1: Run the cable in a flextube for protection - and easier replacement if it should happen to get damaged despite this added safety measure. 2: Place a red or yellow plastic ribbon marked with Mains power cable some distance above the cable so you'll spot it when digging down, should you or anyone else sometime in the future be digging in the garden. 3: Use at least 10mm2 cable (check with your electrician if it should be even thicker!). The higher the current you want to draw, the bigger the cable...

    • @Lightrider87

I work on the electric here in the uk. I’d be willing to have a wager that there will be nothing wrong with that original cable as long as nobody has hit it with anything while digging. You’d probably be better off just piecing it out at either end rather than over laying it.
XLPE cables are designed to run wet and as long as they’re jointed correctly it won’t cause you a problem

With all that fruit coming, get yourself a big, antique copper jam pot. You can make jam and process it in jars and sell it. With all that will be coming from that area in the future, you can bring in a tidy sum once you open the Chateau to visitors and open a gift shop. I have an awesome recipe for the currants but you’ll nee to plans some rose geraniums. Also strawberries for classic jam. Apricot tree, peach tree. Get a vegetable garden going behind the Chateau where there used to be one.
Huge congratulations on getting power. Just in time for your next step after the roof and windows. Running plumbing and electrical. Outlets every 4 meters. One can never have too many outlets. I really really enjoyed your introduction of the Chateau Riley. It is a stunning beautiful car, in mint condition. Thank you so much for sharing the history, your emotions and the roll models we need in life. You are genuinely a true roll model. Every vlog again. Keep om going. We all love you.

I hope your portable garage is well tied down. Had one of them and a wind storm turned it turtle half a field away. After that we fastened it down to very heavy boards. Love the car! Perfect for the chateau.

Power for All The Tools will be awesome, though I hope you can still use the solar package for emergency lighting. But then, I'm also hoping that a magic geothermal pixie will come along with a radiant heating package, since heating a stone building is expensive. A roof AND Power before Christmas exceeds expectations (given the bad weather this year). However, you weren't alone in sharing today's triumph. I noticed that Msr. Mason seemed to be very happy to help move the car into its temp shelter, but I also noticed that the wave of exaltation spread immediately to the dogs, who were happily beating their tails. Team Chaumont's delight is contagious. Thank you all for sharing it with us! ;)
