  • This weeks video is an awesome looking scud pattern that's very easy to tie. I saw this pattern in a video from MakFlies and I really liked the looks of so I thought I'd share it with you guys. Scuds are a freshwater shrimp that is very abundant is some of my local streams. Finding a simple quick way to tie them is very important. Tying is fun but I like to fish just as much so I've learned to keep my flies simple and quick. Head to the shop for all the materials needed to tie this fly and others at holsingersflyshop.com and as always, thanks for watching. -Shawn

I like the new video format. Appreciate the extra touch of adding material names into the video while your tying! Tight lines.

Where do you find ostrich herl with such LONG individual feathers ??? I've been tying these and the herl I have is barely long enough to wind around a size 14 hook.

I'm suprised more people don't fish the Missouri style scud which is just dubbing, wire, and a hook and then the dubbing is brushed for legs.
