the audi cup is a pre-season trophy, spurs don't even list it on their website as an honour. On man city and arsenal website they list the community shield as a trophy. You arteta outers can't admit that arteta won a trophy last season because it will prove you wrong.

Lee, have you ever been on the Arsenal sub Reddit? The takes on there are outrageous. Yesterday, I saw them using this defense about winning the community shield. I couldn't believe what I was reading. It's always been viewed as the final preseason friendly before the kick off of the league. If you say anything against it, you get downvoted into oblivion. I think Arteta would even say winning the Community Shield can't be used in any serious argument.

I started supporting my club at 5 years old because I saw them win the FA Cup on TV (not because they finished top 4 and didn't win anything). It was magical as a little kid to see that event... Don't ever underestimate the importance of regularly winning ANY trophy for the development, history of achievement or commercially for a club. You remember those moments as a fan forever, seeing your team win a trophy. It's literally the whole point of being an elite club or pro athlete... Winning.

If the community shield was counted as a real trophy, then City would have won by default. Arsenal participated only because they came 2nd and City won both the league and the FA cup. They just want any two teams to play it to kick start the season. The "Spanish Super Cup" is a 2 legged tie and an actual trophy.
