This is probably the best BGC yet: - Jon unraveling. - Clutch plays. - Lots of "Jokes of the Day". - Amazing editing (Thanks James). - Tom + Rosie combo. - Dice game. - Adam losing. - Plenty of fun overall. Amazing.
On further review, Jon Gracey didn't win either because his personal goal was to have more cards than anyone else, and Adam finished with more cards. But either way, Adam definitely lost.
The absolute chaotic energy radiating from this sessions was glorious to behold! Additionally, we are one game closer to Adam playing Monopoly 5 times in a row!
Adam saying "Two Dicks, One Heart" was Jon Gracey's charity single might be the hardest I've laughed at a NRB joke, ever. The visual being the icing on the cake!
Realistically I didn't know how I was going to feel about this game...but god damn it if you all didn't win me over! Especially Jon with his incredibly lucky roll, and the last one-on-one battle between Jon and Tom. Keep up the great work!
its really fun, easy, non serious game to play., totally recommend it ( and king of NY, its sister game) its a great "boardgame for people who don't play boardgames"
That was soooooo much fun 😄 would love to see you guys replay this 1 some time. Also, thanks to the editor for making the dice rolls easy to follow cos i can imagine that being quite time consuming and monotonous. Much appreciated and added a lot. Really love this episode. Throwing it in my Favourites list ❤
Number of games Adam won : 0 Number of games Adam lost : 2 Games played total in 2022 : 2 Number of games Sully has broken his resolution to always win: 1 Number of games Laurie has won Blood on the Clocktower in 2022: ? Has Adam played Diplomacy with Dom yet? Yes: No: ✓
What an insanely fun episode! Watching it at 1am . John should be the permanent Gambler in the BoTC games from here on. My stomach is hurting from laughter.
I went directly from the dead of winter video where sully's first roll killed one of his survivors, to this video where his first roll is absolutely bananas. Talk about swings of luck.
The continuing adventures of Monster sized Sully: "Oh no! There's no milk in my giant Sized mug of tea! I'm afraid Tokyo you must now be punished! Ohhhh yes! Take this! And this! Wang!" Tokyo feels the full effect of Sully's giant sized Wang.
My goodness that was a blast. KoT is probably my favorite game all time do this makes it even better. Tom with the most epic quote during the final blow. I will never be able to look at the "Extra Head" card the same ever again.
It took Tom nodding in the intro for this to start being hilarious and it never stopped😂 honestly don’t know if I could play this game because I was laughing too much to pay attention
There have been two BGC episodes in 2022. Adam is 0-2 so far. He has set his personal challenge for 22 wins in 2022 or else he will record himself playing 5 games of Monopoly in a row. There might be some doomsayers here in the comments, but he's just getting the early shakes out before his world-shattering winning streak starts. (Hopefully soon)
9:02: The way this rule was explained is not correct but it didn't affect the game. You said that you don't need to roll anything to enter Tokyo at the start, but it's actually the first player to roll at least one claw. He did end up with one claw, so he would've had to enter Tokyo.
I was worried this wasn't going to happen today with Adam being under the weather. So glad it did though! Started out slow but the back half might just be the most hilarious video yet.
If you get down to less than three players, you can really spam Wings for the win. Sit in Tokyo, roll energy and ignore damage from one or two attacks, add two victory a turn till the win. But you have to get down to less than four players, get in Tokyo, and have the batteries work out.
I recently found a solo variant for this game. Besides me forgetting to add a victory point when a monster goes into Tokyo, it went really well. It's very, very satisfiying to roll those chunky dice
One of my favorite games, but this video made me do research and realize reprints changed the "first player entering Tokyo" rule. My version still says that you have to roll a claw to get in. Also, this is the *first* time I've seen anyone get the King Roll after buying that card.
I keep rewatching this episode every now and again, it's just so funny and fun!!! This is probs my 5th. The excitement is still there every rewatch. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
All this dice rolling brought back memories of Bang! The Dice Game. I'd love to see you guys play that version of Bang, with any combination of the expansions. Never timed a game specifically, but I'd guess you guys could fit two evolutions of the game on one video, like you did with Whitechapel Mystery
39:29 Because I'm a giant nerd, I calculated the odds. Or more accurately, the probability. The probability of satisfying the condition of the card (1, 2, 3, claw, energy, heart) given the rules of the game (three rolls per die) and no additional dice is a respectable 24.8%. Not actually all that impressive. Assuming you spent every round TRYING specifically to activate that card, you'd be more likely than not to have achieved that after three rounds. However, the probability of doing specifically what he did (getting all but one die correct in the first roll, followed by the final one being correct after a second roll) is a much more impressive 2.8%. For reference, it would take 25 rounds before you'd be more likely than not to have achieved that specific roll. So what are the odds? 141:4859 (approximately 1:34) for that specific outcome.
That was awesome. KoT is one of my favourites (with the Power Card Expansion). Hmmmm how to get NRB to play a game that I want them to....? HEY ADAM!! PLAY EVERDELL! YOU COWARD!!!
The way I always explain attacks to new players is like playing king of the mountain as a kid. If your on the mountain, you attack everyone else and they attack you. Tokyo is the mountain. Easy peasy.
The chance of getting 123[Smash][Heal][Energy] in three rolls is 19.68%, assuming you're rolling for exactly that outcome. Not sure if any of the powers affect how many rolls you get. But for completeness while I have the spreadsheet created, the odds of getting it in 1/2/3/4/5 rolls are 1.54%/8.87%/19.68%/31.08%/41.68%.
It's a step in the right direction for Adam in that at least he wasn't the only person to lose this time. I'd say spoilers but who in their right mind wouldn't watch the video first before checking the comment section or just assume that Blampied lost.

I think one thing that stands out with board game club is even when you have no idea what's going on in the game you still have a lovely time
This is probably the best BGC yet:

Agreed. I just threw this in my Favourites list. Amazing episode.
Best jon unravel yet!
Rosie is getting a lot of good quotes so far, ' I don't want a pity blow!' had me bursting water out of my mouth jesus
Tom's dry humour remains a highlight of this series!
49:53 Sully flipping like a light switch will always be my favorite part of this episode.
The “Gobble, Gobble” has gotta be one of the best lines to end a board game, fantastic video with a fantastic ending!
"Can't talk. Mouth's full."
So Adam’s road to 22 victories started well last week when he was the only player not to win, let’s see how he kicks on today
It's going great. Perfect. Right on track.
We need a win loss tracker or a little Adam picture moving closer to monopoly with every loss.
On further review, Jon Gracey didn't win either because his personal goal was to have more cards than anyone else, and Adam finished with more cards. But either way, Adam definitely lost.
@@goddamnit7766 Where was the monopoly challenge announced? And what hubris led to that idea?
A video called something like "gaming new years resolutions 2022"
EDIT: 10 Board Game Resolutions for 2022
The absolute chaotic energy radiating from this sessions was glorious to behold!
Additionally, we are one game closer to Adam playing Monopoly 5 times in a row!
Seriously when Sully yelled at Jon after his rolls had me in tears both times. I love you all thank you so much crew 😂😂😂
Adam saying "Two Dicks, One Heart" was Jon Gracey's charity single might be the hardest I've laughed at a NRB joke, ever. The visual being the icing on the cake!
49:55 And right here, we see the spirit of Dom entering Sully's body and possessing him.
The edit from James this episode is top notch. I burst out laughing over Luke-zilla and Adam's Zilla "roar"
Realistically I didn't know how I was going to feel about this game...but god damn it if you all didn't win me over! Especially Jon with his incredibly lucky roll, and the last one-on-one battle between Jon and Tom. Keep up the great work!

😂😂😅
Obligatory comment about just how amazing Rosie is, you know its a good video when shes involved.
Just realised how much we need Cosmic Encounter with Rosie.
39:18 What a moment! Jon absolutely wrecking house!
All of you are so much fun to watch. The whole group is great.

"Stay Fresh, Cheese Bags" I love it, Adam pulling out the Ashens quote 😁
50:03 Here you guys go, the best part of this video. I hope they play this game again lol it was hilarious from beginning to end lol
That ending! Pier pressure at its finest
LAURIE: KING ROLL!!!
Tom played an absolute blinder. Was bloody good to watch!
Board Game Club is the best part of the week 🧡
I went directly from the dead of winter video where sully's first roll killed one of his survivors, to this video where his first roll is absolutely bananas. Talk about swings of luck.
I'm glad to see Akihabara-expert Sullivan join the ranks of Wrestling-expert Jon and Dune-expert Blair! The NRB expertise is growing!
Absolutely love King of Tokyo! Definitely another great episode of NRB!
Edit: WHAT AN AMAZING HILARIOUS EPISODE! My cheeks hurt from laughing. 😂😂😂

Slight rules lawyer moment:
"Discard" means when you buy it, you resolve it immediately, then discard it; you cannot save it for later.
“I don’t want a pity blow” - Rosie, NRB, 2022.
another fantastic episode, had me rolling throughout. the blowing on the dice gag just kept getting better and better!
I got to meet Richard Garfield and beat him in a MTG tournament back in the 90’s. Nice guy who creates good games.
The continuing adventures of Monster sized Sully:
"Oh no! There's no milk in my giant Sized mug of tea! I'm afraid Tokyo you must now be punished! Ohhhh yes! Take this! And this! Wang!"
Tokyo feels the full effect of Sully's giant sized Wang.

I spent a few hours the other evening on the nrb patreon discord playing this on board game arena, not had so much fun in a long time!
I'm sorry, are we just going to skip right past "10 points to Dickindor"? That is top-shelf banter, and it deserves better.
Tom is an absolute treasure of a human.
**Spolers**
John rolling all 6 symbols was EPIC!
39:20 This is the energy that makes board gaming with a group of friends the best thing.
I hope we get to see in person wavelength at some point! That's my favorite game y'all have played so far and I want to see it again. 🤣
This is one of the greatest videos of the year and we aren’t even three weeks in
Sully's King Kong voice at 35:20 sounds an awful lot like Johnny Vegas. lol
I thought the exact same thing 👍
Almost crying in the aftermath of each "King Roll" xD
Trying to resist the urge to post a huge list of board games that i need to see you guys play. Love the videos!
My favorite player claims another victory. Love to see it
Jon almost got 3 freaking King rolls.
What a great series! Loving every single one. Was wondering which dice tray that was, I am looking for one myself and this one looks and sounds great!
Discovered this channel like two weeks ago...haven't stopped watching since! Already watched this episode twice cause it's sooo freakin' funny! 😀
God damn that comeback from Jon. It was so unlikely, I literally jumped from my chair IRL
Dude I'm so exhausted from crying of laughter for an hour
What a great board game session
Happy Birthday, Luke!
Plenty of blowing this episode I seriously could not with the innuendo 😂

At 12:54 should Gigazaur have gone into Tokyo since he did not end up with any rolled Fists?
An excellent board game. Another great video NRB!

Oh my godness. 13:01 - 13:25 😂😂😂 I had to stop watching… couldn’t see through the tears of laughter. Well done James.

Watching the D&D channel, I thought Tom was so sweet and gentle. I did not realise how savage he is during boardgames 😂
I enjoy Sully took a small break from playing king of Tokyo to play spyfall @24:15
Rosie is an absolute delight in every video she is in.
As owner of King of Tokyo, I can confirm that yes, the dice are big. The dice are chunky.
I recently found a solo variant for this game. Besides me forgetting to add a victory point when a monster goes into Tokyo, it went really well. It's very, very satisfiying to roll those chunky dice
Best episode yet
Brilliant!! Descended very quickly!! 😁

"Quality Chaos" - That would be AWESOME as a merch slogan in honor of Rosie.
The real Tokyo was the friends we utterly annihilated along the way.
Excellent reference Tom. I appreciated it
Sully's mud-flinging at joke has big Dom Vibes...Dom the man, not...you know
39:24 Jon forgot that he should also have gotten 1 health, 1 energy-cube and dealt 1 damage in addition to those 10 victory points
It's a shame you couldn't get Luke for this one. Seems like he was born for this game. Maybe in the sequel?
Oh my god the "King Rolls" had me crying with laughter!
Yeeeees lets go, excited for this one!
39:29
Because I'm a giant nerd, I calculated the odds.
"Ten points to Dickindoor"
You're telling me Jon thlammed his penith in a car door?
25:58 I'm just super impressed that Sully knows about J-League. Go Matsumoto Yamaga!! Also if you really wanna see a J-League match, I mean....
Oh great thanks. Now I want that game too.
I love King of Tokyo and King of New York my friend has all the expansions for KoT. I’m sure this is gonna a great episode

Easily the funniest video yet!
