- Israeli officials have seized a camera and broadcasting equipment belonging to the Associated Press in southern Israel after accusing the agency of violating the country’s new media law by providing content to Al Jazeera.

AP denounced the move. Its vice-president of corporate communications said: 'The shutdown was not based on the content of the feed but rather an abusive use by the Israeli government of the country’s new foreign broadcaster law. We urge the Israeli authorities to return our equipment and enable us to reinstate our live feed immediately so we can continue to provide this important visual journalism to thousands of media outlets around the world'

did you even watch the video? the videos that AP publishes and others (including AJ) uses is the sole reason for their ban. the fact that AJ sources AP is completely reasonable and should be legal under any functional democracy
AP provides material for thousands of news outlets. Al Jazeera is indeed funded by Qatar, so what? How is the financial backing of a news company of any relevance? Israel claims to embrace free press and liberal values but yet, in 2023, nearly 75% of journalists killed worldwide were Palestinians who had died in Israel's war in Gaza. This strikes me as being a genuinely huge issue.
