An innovative EDC flashlight with gimmicky features? (Acebeam Terminator M2 Review)

- Honestly, I still don't know how I feel about the Acebeam Terminator M2. There's so much I like about this flashlight but there are also a few things that bug me...a lot. The specs rival some more expensive lights but only half the price of its big brother, the Terminator M1. It could've been awesome!!!
Let me know in the comments what you think of the Terminator M2. I'm curious of what others think here.

I will try to use affiliate links anytime I can. It's the only way to keep this channel going. Thank you for your support!* Acebeam sent the M2 to me for review purposes but I am not sponsored by them. And that will never change my opinion of the flashlight. Chrispy Things will not be bought...

Everyone had already said this about this light having no LEP, so I won't go into it again, but this light seems to have direct access to the flood moonlight I read from the manual:
Just lock this light, and when the light is unlocked, it will go into flood moonlight mode automatically.
And I think that's reasonable: if you haven't used the light for a long time and forget which light mode you last used, you should always lock the light after using it, especially with this kind of electrical switch.
Plz let me know if it works, I am going to get one if this method is legit.
Did you try the aux lights in a completely dark room? I sometimes use RGB lights on some of my torches to provide a coloured glow/ambient light in a completely dark bedroom whilst laying in bed watching youtube videos. Though the output on the Terminator M2 might be too weak even for that.
There is nothing better about the M2 Compared to the M1 except the price !! Definitely worth paying more to get the M1 !
Thankfully found your video. Was going to order until I saw the useless color modes. Red, Blue and Green are useful in a tactical situation, but not at the lumens stated.
Absolutely. Red and green are very useful but needs to be much brighter. Or give us selectable brightness levels to choose from.
I have M1 and it is awesometaculer !!!!
Thanks for the review! Do you know if the ”head” is removable to add for example a green lens? It would be fantastic to be able to switch between a green and white light. Thanks!
I can’t remove the head
the Aux lights are so you can find it in the dark.
It’s not needed.
@@ChrispyThings that's debatable, some people might find a feature like that to be useful in an EDC light during a power outage.
I do agree that the SOS mode is worthless, no rescue team will ever see that. You'd have better luck using the spotlight and waving it in the air.
The biggest negative should be that there's no way to keep this light going in an actual emergency. USB-c passthrough is a must in non-fantasy land.
👌🏻
I use RGB lights. I got the M2 for that reason. But I failed to read the lumens. 0.5 lumen! It has zero use!
Yeah they could have done much better with the M2. I think the LEP kinda sucks and the interface compared to the M1. The M1 LEP is much better. I wonder with that form factor if a side light would make sense, I could see standing it up and having a side light pointing toward where you need it.
The M2 isn't LEP. It's floodlight/spotlight. The M1 is the only one with the LEP module in it.
Companies are missing the boat on weight, as in, they need to make ultralight versions. This flashlight could be made out of “Ultem”. 1/2 the weight of titanium, 1/4 the cost.
Ultem would be a terrible material for a high-lumen light. You'd get almost no heat dissipation.
Plus it would jack the price up absurdly
@@gobot90 nope
@@HammerAndFlame nope
@@danwesson2485 Aluminum has a thermal conductivity of 237 W/mK, Ultem 1000 is only .220 W/mK, sooo yep, it really would be pretty terrible at heat dissipation. Now, you could make the head out of aluminum or copper and have an Ultem body, but then you're looking at added manufacturing complexity which would absolutely increase the production cost.
Where is M1 review ??????
I never reviewed it. I’ve used one and have experience with it, just don’t own it.
@@ChrispyThings buy one then to a review ! We would love to see that review?
Oh man, this was so close to a purchase for me! It covered a bunch of bases that I was looking for: flat EDC form factor, easily swappable battery, powerful lumen output, USB rechargeable, and then on top of that I love the ability to switch from flood to spot. But that button layout tho! 😱WTH? Were they trying to make it incredibly awkward to actually use? Because that's what they've accomplished. You either have to use two hands or you have to have a weak grip or you have to spin it around in your hand, pointing at yourself so you're blinded, just to operate the thing? How sad, because that's a deal killer for me. I was ready to buy and only trying to decide which one, until I learned about that.
Thanks for the honest and detailed review video. At first I thought there was no way I was going to watch all 27 minutes since I figured it would be full of narcissistic rambling (like so many UA-cam vids) but you kept it on track, gave a lot of useful info and were easy to listen to. Liked and subscribed.
Thank you and I appreciate the feedback back
