Great episode, of course I could not view it live again because of the German Timezone - Hopefully I can catch you live soon, got some questions about religion since I finally found to god, even though I am not baptized and grew up in an atheist family. Your prior talks about religious topics definitely helped me a lot - you once talked about that inner believe we humans have, the way we interact with morality. This became undeniably to me and I am looking forward to more philosophy and religious topics on these podcast.

It might be in your favour to look into the life of Al-Ghalazi, a man the coach has mentioned multiple times. He spent a lot of time reflecting upon the same thing, and the trajectory of his thoughts in the later parts of his life, and up until his demise is very interesting
I sincerely wish you the best in this journey of yours. Remember to always keep an open mind, to think both critically and objectively💪💯

The entire point of knees over toes is to GRADUALLY/PROGRESSIVELY get your body/knees to be able to handle the movement with no pain. Ben (kneesovertoesguy) preaches to never work thru ranges of pain. It's a concept and program that builds and builds overtime.
Your knees go over your toes in life (going down the stairs for example), in fitness (jump rope, running, etc), and will definitely happen in sport especially martial arts where you end up in awkward positions at times. Avoiding knees over toes isn't going to save your knees its just going to leave them vulnerable and weak in that position when it happens.

Salaam Coach, do you have any recommendations to a good school in Singapore which has somewhat similar curiculum to Tristar? I feel after almost 2 years of doing GJJ my standup takedowns/defense if very poor, as little emphasis is placed on that (perhaps maybe covered only once 3-4 months a year). I like the fact ur curiculum does wrestling alongside BJJ on a daily basis.
Side note: Thank you for ur instructionals. The advance basics has helped me alot alongside GU. Do u recommend purchasing Ur instructional - wrestling made easy and drill it with a partner separately? To complement my current lack of standing routine

I could not sleep more even if I was tired. What are your recommendations? There is very little information about diet and sleep on internet. I have not changed anything else in my life except starting this diet and when I started eating like I used to do again, it fixed my sleep so there is correlation between the diet and sleep. From Statistics Canada Website:
"There were an estimated 309,912 deaths in Canada in 2020. This is 16,333 more deaths than what would have been expected if there were no pandemic, after accounting for changes in the population such as aging, and 20,619 more deaths than in 2019."

Coach there are endless reasons for heart palpitations. I woke up the other night from a nightmare and my heart was beating hard. Anxiety also can cause it. You even mentioned it could be from something else. So why insinuate the shot caused it when you don't know? This is classic confirmation bias. You yourself are saying you didn't go see a doctor after, this shows how serious you truly felt it was. Come on coach these logical arguments are a joke, your logic is usually so strong.

I don't think the world death rate is a good basis for comparison, since there are other huge events going on that will contribute to deaths, like wars (e.g. invasion of Iraq was in 2003) and countless rising and falling crime trends within various countries.
If we're just thinking about Canada, consider this: imagine that there was no pandemic in 2020, everything was largely the same as in 2019, only difference is that governments imposed the same restrictions that they did in the pandemic. Don't you think that restricting movements, greatly reducing motor vehicle traffic, keeping people at home and away from accident risk factors as well as curbing transmission of other diseases we already had etc., would reduce the death rate? What we're seeing is that the death rate increased. So that tells us that not only did the virus make up for any discrepancy you would expect to see from restricting people's movements, it more than made up for it. This is just one small part of the bigger puzzle, but the death rate argument doesn't make any sense. At this superficial level of analysis, the only logical conclusion to draw is that the virus did indeed kill a lot more people than we would have expected to die, and that the restrictions probably helped keep those deaths lower than they would have been without them.
Another point to consider is that, if restrictions don't work and the virus isn't that deadly, why is it that the death rate per 100,000 people in Canada is 72.95 and in the US, where they had a lot fewer restrictions, it stands at 204.92, almost three times as high? In countries with similar cultures and geography you see the same, for example in Scandinavia, Sweden, which imposed minimal restrictions, has a death rate multiple times higher than in Denmark, Norway and Finland, which all imposed restrictions similar to those in Canada.

You cant just look at total deaths and then say covid is significant or insignificant.
You have to look at total deaths (and severe illness, missed work, etc etc) *caused by covid*.
Total deaths in general is affected by other factors as well, like accidents, nutrition, other diseases, war, famine, etc.
You could probably offset all deaths caused by covid if you found a cure for one common form of cancer.
On the other hand, when you see medical professionals complaining of lack of icu beds, people unable to visit their dying relatives, deathly ill people being treated in makeshift tents or even being sent away due to icus and ers hitting full capacity - these are the effects of covid. Total deaths including all factors is not really relevant to covid.
