    and he formerly joined the legal sub 10 club September 2017 with a 9.98. Was always going to happen but hopefully the waiting has created a more patient and determined athlete

    non west African descent sub 10ers as of now.
    Johnson(Australia 2003), Lemaitre (France 2011),Gemili (Brit of Iranian/Moroccan heritage 2015), Su Bingtian(China) 2015, Guliyev (Tukey/Azerbeijan 2017) and now Kiryu (Japan 2017) and another half dozen between 10.00 and 10.02. Proving there are people from all over the world who can be elite sprinters if they have the determination to get off their computers and work hard

      now there's Tortu (italy), Omanyala (Kenya), Xie (China), Al Harthi (Oman), Matt Boling (USA), Yupun Abeykoon (Nepal) Koike, Yamagata (Japan) and also Asahara and Ito and Zhang Peimeng all likely would have ran 9.90-9.95 with today's technology.

    Start mechanics ain't that bad actually, even though the extreme set position. Max velocity needs some work though. His ankle position on leg recovery is killing his knee lift. Hence the turn over. Much more to come if its sorted. Injuries if its not. Very similar in this aspect to Tyson Gay.

    93 men have ran under 10 seconds. 92 are west african descent. 1 is white. Hope this guy and adam gemili become first middle eastern and oriental to do it.

      reza michael Koji Ito is the first non black to run under 10s in 1998. But his time is more than 9.995, so they rounded him off to 10s flat. But technically he's the first.

    • @MrStevecro
      @MrStevecro 9 років тому

      reza michael no, Australia's Patrick Johnson (9.93) has no west African genes.. he's equal part aboriginal and Irish. Su Bingtian did 9.99 legal, May 2015 and Adam Gemili did a 9.97 legal 2 days ago.
      Richard Kilty did a PB 10.05 in the same race and thinks he'll be next under 10

      Bob Smith Marian Woronin was given 2mps tailwind in his Polish home city. Anyone who watched him in his prime (as did I) never saw this kind of talent there, 10.15 being his next best. He was routinely beaten by Alan Wells, Pietro Mennea and other Europeans in big meets.

      SU BINGTIAN 9.99(1.5 headwind),9.99(-0.4 tailwind),9.92(2.5 headwind).....He went 9 seconds 2 times legally..give the guy some credit
