- The Oakwood Hardware restaurant is considered a neighbourhood staple but has become another example of commercial rent increases forcing small businesses to close. Mark McAllister looks at the issue.
Did I hear that right? Commercial tenants are begging for rent control now? From Doug Ford? This is rich. Who's writing this, Norm MacDonald?
Boycott the new business that thought they could steal a location from a wonderful entrepreneur who restored it with her own funds.
It is going to be a Starbucks.😂
yeap, just boycott.
We need the landlord's name so we can pay them a visit
Small businesses should support Ivylus!
If we had real leaders they'd pass laws protecting businesses that are indepedantly owned. Problem is that landlord may also be one of those people.
The one dude said he's shocked. Shocked? What are you shocked about? Landlords have been kicking single parents out on the street for years courtesy of Doug Ford. Where were your tears and rent control cries then?
In the soup.
buuuuuuuurn
Yup, conservative majority
Democracy in Canada
That is totally unexceptable shame in the landlord. Selfish people are going to regret what they are doing now. I hope the owners end in a lawsuit from someone. Shame on selfish people. All about f-ing dollar. Sickening 😡🤢
Its hard to pass up when properties are based on 11xannual rent. I was an agent and literally comitted fraud to get unqualified people into condos..but commerical leases, i dunno...business is business until society decides protections are required for smaller enterprises.
is it only shameful because it's your beloved business that's being forced out? any care for actual people who are forced out in the same manner?
lol deadbeat small business. cant afford the rent? should have purchased! lol what a poor person.
You sound like you failed at life, maybe try MAiD services.
