The choice of the song that plays when they enter the Tunnel of Love is made more impactful when you realize that it's a reflection of how Hephaestus feels about his family. He wants to love them, and he wants them to love him back, but they constantly hurt him.
I was laughing on the first bit when that happened and then went oh... and my jaw dropped hard

And then Annabeth shows him with her speech and loyalty to her friend above all that family drama and mess
For the chair thing, Hephaestus trapped his mother Hera who had disowned him essentially, and he only released her when they promised to make Aphrodite his wife. Aphrodite likes to go on "secret" dates with Ares, so Hephaestus made the ride as a trap for them.
they're blaming percy for it because gabe is actively talking to the media about percy being a troubled kid who does bad things, like being the reason sally died and everything after. percy's face is the one all over the news, the police probably just didn't immediately recognize the other kids before they ran away lol,
This is my favorite episode so far 😭 the percabeth content is amazing, ares was great, and i love that they gave Grover more of a role. Also SO glad the included the police after them and Gabe being interviewed like in the book. Fugitives!
I love that they actually did the Fates _right_ in this series. You have Clotho who spins the thread on the right, Lachesis who measures the thread on the left, and Atropos (in the middle) who cuts the thread at that set measurement. Its like ingrained in pop culture that the fates cutting the thread means you instantly die, but thats not it. Thats how they set your lifespan. For example, if you were to live another 50 years, Lachesis would measure the thread out to whatever length means 50 years, and Atropos would cut it at that point, so you can't exceed 50 more years
Second time I've seen Timothy Osmundson play a god, played an incredibly thinly veiled analog for Jesus back in the worst arc of Xena Warrior princess and has been activating my daddy issues ever since 😬
Also very happy they cast a disabled actor to play Hepheastus :) he had a pretty severe stroke a couple years ago and I'm so glad to see him still getting work, and his cane makes perfect sense for the character

In the book, Percy and Grover see the Fates. It's interesting that they made Annabeth see them instead.

Satyrs can sense people's emotions. He knew Ares was hiding something so he worked him to get it out of him and he did: Ares caught the lightning thief!
Leah's acting in this episode is something else. That speech? That's character growth right there! The 1st episode we see her vulnerable side, that she cared about Percy.
I agree, Percy and Annabeth's bond is definitely stronger now and I love seeing their friendship developing!
Walkers apparently grown 6 inches now since they started filming season 1 so wouldn't be surprised
I read that too. That between the 1st and the last day of filming he hit a growth spurt.
He's already taller than me. His voice also dropped an octave.
On second rewatch, comparing to Aryan & Leah, I don't think he has yet. But we should notice it in the next 3 episodes. @@matte5705
Explanation for the Chair - Thing, as you called it ;) :
Hephaestus is the child of Zeus and his wife (and sister, btw) Hera. When Hera saw Hephaestus for the first time , she didn't like the way he looked. Apparently, he wasn't a handsome baby, at least by her standards. She didn't want to show him to Zeus or anyone else. So, she threw him of the Olympus. Hephaestus fell and got hurt pretty bad when he landed, making him crippled. He got raised by Neireides and they soon realised that he had a knack for building and wielding things. I think he also made a necklace for someone and Hera saw that necklace and asked about it's origin. She and other gods learned about Hephaestus whereabouts and he got invited to Olympus. Hephaestus came a present for Hera ( He knew she was his mother). The present was that chair/throne. At some point, Hera sat down on it ant got trapped. No other god could free her and Hephaestus had already left. Eventually, two gods ( pretty sure one of them was Poseidon) could convince him to free Hera. Hephaestus became the god of wielding and his own vulcano, where he could use the heat to build stuff. Later on, he married Aphrodite (some stories say that marriage was right after the chair - thing, the one I heard first said that Aphrodite chose the shy Hephaestus over other, more extroverted gods when she was asked to choose a husband).
Some time later, Aphrodite started an affair with Ares and Hephaestus wanted to trap them and embarrass them in front of the other gods. I feel like in Percy Jackson, Aphrodite and Ares got surprised in the tunnel ot love and Ares left his shield there.
I'm not sure about every detail of this story, but I think it that's it. Sorry for this long text ;)

22:11 That's cute. Percabeth is greatest slow burn of all time. Wish you could see the future for these two cause they are just the best but I don't know if they'll get to adopt up to Heroes of Olympus but one can hope.
idk why they haven’t explained it yet but wi-fi attracts monsters so they can’t use electronics and that’s why Annabeth hasn’t seen a movie
